Invasive Ductal Carcinoma Arising within a Mammary Hamartoma: Case Report

  • Breast hamartomas are typically a benign condition and rarely develop into malignant lesions. The coexistence of carcinoma and a breast hamartoma is rare; only 15 cases have been reported in the literature. Here, we report a case of invasive ductal carcinoma associated with hamartoma in a 60-year-old woman. Mammography, ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging showed typical features of a breast hamartoma and a suspicious mass with microcalcifications arising within the hamartoma.

  • The microscopic dynamics of $CsH_2PO_4$, with two distinct hydrogen bond lengths, are studied by static nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and magic angle spinning (MAS) NMR. The proton dynamics of the two crystallographically inequivalent hydrogen sites were discussed in terms of the $^1H$ NMR and $^1H$ MAS NMR spectra. Although the hydrogen bonds have two inequivalent sites, H(1) and H(2), distinct proton dynamics for the two sites were not found. Further, the $^{133}Cs$ spectrum is more or less continuous near $T_{C1}$ (=153 K). Finally, the phase transition mechanism of $T_{C1}$ in $CsH_2PO_4$ is related to the ordering of protons.

  • This paper deals with the existence of positive solutions for a kind of multi-point nonlinear fractional differential boundary value problem at resonance. Our main approach is different from the ones existed and our main ingredient is the Leggett-Williams norm-type theorem for coincidences due to O'Regan and Zima. The most interesting point is the acquisition of positive solutions for fractional differential boundary value problem at resonance. And an example is constructed to show that our result here is valid.

  • Recently, the various performances of vehicle are rapidly improved. Therefore tire noise is recognized as important noise source because vehicle noise is considerably reduced. This study is performed for the control of the cavity resonance noise that is structure-borne noise, due to fluid(air)-structure interaction. For this investigation, FRF analysis has been carried out using FEM and we found an important factor affecting cavity resonance. The effect of this factor is confirmed by objective noise test. We confirmed that the result of FRF analysis and objective noise test is that the structure control of tire sidewall can reduce cavity resonance noise due to fluid-structure interaction

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the usefulness of the measurement of corpus callosum (CC) size in the Alzheimer patient by using magnetic resonance (MR) midsagittal image. We performed MR scanning in 20 normal high age group, and in 20 mild cognitive impairment (MCI) group, and in 20 Alzheimer disease (AD) group. The following parameters were employed in AD group: TRITE/FA 6650ms/66ms/$90^{\circ}$, NEX 2, Thickness/Gap 2/0, FOV 220mm. The magnetic field strength was used at 3.0 Tesla. We selected midsagittal image of the brain by using view forum program, measured CC size, which were anteroposterior length, diameter of genu, body, narrowing portion, and splenium. The present study demonstrates that CC size of Alzheimer disease can be useful for clinical assessment concerning the diameter of genu, body, and splenium.

  • Magnetic Resonance Electrical Impedance Tomography(MREIT) is a new medical imaging technique for the cross-sectional conductivity distribution of a human body using both EIT(Electrical Impedance Tomography) and MRI(Magnetic Resonance Imaging) system. MREIT system was designed to enhance EIT imaging system which has inherent low sensitivity of boundary measurements to any changes of internal tissue conductivity values. MREIT utilizes a recent CDI (Current Density Imaging) technique of measuring the internal current density by means of MRI technique. In this paper, a mathematical modeling for MREIT and image reconstruction method called the alternating J-substitution algorithm are presented. Computer simulations show that the alternating J-substitution algorithm provides accurate high-resolution conductivity images.

  • The temperature dependence of spin wave mode separation in amorphous $Co_{89.5}Zr_{10.5}$ thin film has been investigated at temperatures between 100 K and 300 K. The magnetization and the spectroscopic splitting factor were obtained for the main resonance mode in parallel and perpendicular magnetic field. ${\Delta}H_{2-3}$, the difference between resonance field of mode 2 and the resonance field of mode 3, increases with decreasing temperature. The linewidth increases for all the modes with decreasing temperature. Especially in mode 3 it increases rapidly below 200 K. This phenomenon could be caused by the increase of exchange stiffness constant or the decrease of surface magnetic anisotropy constant with decreasing temperature.

  • The complex permeability dispersions and the microwave absorbing phenomena are investigated in ferrite microwave absorber. The complex permeability of NiZn ferrite, NiZnCo ferrite, and Y-type hexagonal ferrite were measured in 200MHz-14GHz range. Two types of resonances, the domain wall and the spin rotational resonance, were observed. With a ferrite particle with a diameter of about $1\;\mu\textrm{m}$, only spin rotational resonance were observed. The theoretical matching frequency is determined by plotting the measured complex permeability locus on the impedance matching solution map. One or two impedance matching phenomena are observed in the ferrite absorbers according to their complex permeability loci on the impedance matching solution map. The first matching frequency, found in the ferrite-rubber composites, which was higher than that of spin rotational resonance, increased with spin rotational resonance frequency.

  • Neurosyphilis is an infection of the brain or spinal cord that is caused by the bacterium Treponema pallidum. Syphilitic myelitis, which involves the spinal cord, is a very rare form of neurosyphilis seen in patients with syphilis. It requires differentiation from other diseases of the spinal cord, including idiopathic transverse myelitis and spinal cord infarction. Herein, we describe the presentation and diagnosis of syphilitic myelitis in a 43-year-old woman, based on a flip-flop sign and candle guttering appearance depicted in magnetic resonance imaging and laboratory tests.

  • The prevalence of cheek lymphoma, especially a mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma (MALT), is very rare. Non-specific symptoms and image findings of cheek lymphoma may mimic benign entities and make it difficult to diagnose. In this case report, we present a case of MALT lymphoma of the cheek mimicking benign entities on computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging.
