This study attempts to create an analytical framework of the transformation and transmission of knowledge by teachers to students. I focuses on the assertion that the cognitive thinking of a teacher is reflected in his use of mathematical language. Mathematical language is one of the critical elements of communicating mathematical knowledge to students. I examined the cognitive teaching style of different teachers as expressed in their use of mathematical language. An analytical framework of Mathematics Teaching styles was created integrating thinking factors of each visual and analytic style into 5 categories. After that, I regarding the teaching style of mathmatics teachers places its significance not on which teaching style is right or wrong but on identifying the strong and weak points of the teaching styles through actual analysis. With the help of this analytical framework, I conducted an analysis on the videotaped classes and found that the teachers were not biased to one side but in fact there were teachers who demonstrated visual, analytic or mixed teaching style. Therefore, I concludes that math teachers can analyze their teaching styles and improve them through the analytical framework provided in these findings.

In this paper, we designed a new type of X-internet framework by using Flash component and server service API and analyzed its performance. Proposed X-internet framework uses Flash MX Professional 2004, Java, and software which opened middleware and database. Since proposed framework use the server service API that we developed in this paper and Flash player, this framework does not need server module. Proposed framework enables to obtain design with dynamic user interface compare to Web application and enables to reduce development time. In analytical results, it has been shown that proposed x-internet framework have efficient characteristics such as network traffic, low development cost and dynamic user interface implementation. Since proposed X-internet framework can operate in environment of current developer friendly, it is useful for development of various new application programs and we confirm it through Flash web mail implementation by using proposed x-internet framework.

This paper examines that determinants of BAOMAI, (i.e., behavior of Chinese tourist bulk purchase in duty free shop) with analytical framework and empirical tests. The results of applying the structural equation modeling to 196 samples suggest that Chinese tourist consumption orientations (conspicuous/compulsive/unplanned consumption) have a positive effect on BAOMAI decision value chain (perceived value and loyalty). The marketing mix of duty free shop as control variables in research framework also have a positive effect on BAOMAI perceived values (functional/social/emotional value). This paper has a contribution to prior literatures: the first empirical analysis on BAOMAI determinants with exploring scholarly definition.

The effectiveness of conventional tuned liquid dampers (TLDs) in controlling the wind-induced response of tall flexible structures has been indicated. However, the impaired control effect in the detuning condition or a considerably high mass cost of liquid may be incurred in ensuring the high-level serviceability. To provide an efficient TLD-based solution for wind-induced vibration control, this study proposes a serviceability-oriented optimal design method for isolated TLDs (ILDs) and derives analytical design formulae. The ILD is implemented by mounting the TLD on the linear isolators. Stochastic response analysis is performed for the ILD-equipped structure subjected to stochastic wind and white noise, and the results are considered to derive the closed-form responses. Correspondingly, an extensive parametric analysis is conducted to clarify a serviceability-oriented optimal design framework by incorporating the comfort demand. The obtained results show that the high-level serviceability demand can be satisfied by the ILD based on the proposed optimal design framework. Analytical design formulae can be preliminarily adopted to ensure the target serviceability demand while enhancing the structural displacement performance to increase the safety level. Compared with conventional TLD systems, the ILD exhibits higher effectiveness and a larger frequency bandwidth for wind-induced vibration control at a small mass ratio.

TOD (Transit-Oriented Development) is one of the urban structure concentrated on the multifunctional space/district with public transportation system, which is introduced for maintaining sustainable future cities. With such trends, the project of building complex transferring centers located at a urban railway station has widely been spreaded and a comprehensive and systematic analytical framework is required to clarify and readily understand the complicated procedure of estimation with the large scale of the project. By doing so, this study is to develop a comprehensive analytical framework for estimating a pedestrian OD matrix using a spatial information and an integrated smart card data, which is so called a data depository and it has been applied to the Samseong station for the model validation. The proposed analytical framework contributes on providing a chance to possibly extend with digitalized and automated data collection technologies and a BigData mining methods.

There are two types of organizational knowledge in terms of its creation process: experiential and analytical knowledge. The experiential knowledge is created by repetitive experiences of an individual or team through task execution, while the analytical knowledge is acquired by analyzing accumulated data or information in the organization. The experiential knowledge often remains tacit or implicit in the organization because it is primarily acquired at an individual or team level. Therefore, the issue on the experiential knowledge is to share it actively within the organization. On the other hand, the analytical knowledge is explicit in its nature since it is extracted from data or information. Thus, it is important to guide a systematic creation of the analytical knowledge rather than encourage to share it. The current trend of "knowledge management" mainly focuses on the experiential knowledge - know-how, idea, case, etc - and neglects another important knowledge in the organization. i. e., analytical knowledge. This paper tries to shed a new light on the "knowledge management" arena by introducing rather new perspective in the concept of knowledge. The purpose of this study is to identify the factors affecting the analytical knowledge creation in the organization. We conducted an exploratory case study of three companies with a previously defined research framework and found some critical factors for the analytical knowledge creation. They are "organizational resource", "effectiveness of feedback process", "data source management", and "experimental mind set". Finally, we proposed research model and propositions regarding the analytical knowledge creation in the organization.

This paper presents an analytical framework of Conceptual Understandings of Earth Systems (CUES) that shows a relationship between disciplinary knowledge of Earth systems and the specific thinking skills required to understand that knowledge. This framework is developed through an extensive literature review of students' and teachers' understandings of earth systems concepts and systems thinking in earth science context. This study first presents the categories of disciplinary knowledge of Earth systems, Earth System Knowledge (ESK). This study then illustrates a relationship between categories of ESK and the ontological categories (Matter, Process, Systems) that has been used to study students' conceptual understandings of Earth systems. Finally, this study presents the CUES framework to show the relationship between disciplinary knowledge and thinking skills. The implications of using this framework for curriculum development, assessment, and teacher education and ESS research are discussed.

The purpose of this study was to analyze environment-behavior concepts included in environmental design characteristics of facilities for elderly with dementia. Major method was contents analysis of actual environmental designs. For comparison between the environment-behavior concepts and actual cases, an analytical framework was developed. Eleven cases of facilities designed for people with dementia were analyzed. Those were published ones in periodicals in USA. The analytical data used included floor plans, texts, and visual materials including photographs. Under the framework for analysis, a total of 296 criteria were used to analyze the actual cases of environmental design. This study was expected to offer a knowledge base for better environmental design for elderly with dementia and to help establish guidelines for designing such facilities which can meet the cultural characteristics and traditional conditions of Korea.

In recent years, various information technologies including ubiquitous computing technology have been developed and deployed. The more ubiquitous services based on ubiquitous technology have widely been spread, the more evaluation methods of those services are required. In this study, we suggest a framework for evaluating ubiquitous services by identifying evaluation factors and their relative importances. Combining review of related works and experts' opinions on the evaluation, we calculate the factors affecting ubiquitous service evaluation and relative importances among those factors using fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). We conduct a case study to illustrate the applicability and feasibility of the suggested framework.
