TG-CVI용 히터 형상설계 및 최적화 (Design and Optimization of TG-CVI Heater)

  • Thermal gradient chemical vapor infiltration (TG-CVI) process, which is one of the CVI techniques to densify a porous fiber preform, requires for a heater to have uniform surface temperature distribution. Thus, it is essential to design the shape of the heater and to predict the temperature distribution when the heater has a profile which is not a simple cylinder. In this study, an analytical method has been used to design the inner profile of a conical heater showing uniform temperature distribution, if its outer shape is specified. Temperature distribution on the heater surface has been calculated with the finite difference method and compared with the experimental results. When a heater had a combined profile with a large cone and a small cylinder, temperature was higher in the cylindrical part. To reduce the temperature difference between these areas, a hole-machining method has been proposed including other possible ones. A shape design and optimization program has been made to improve the temperature uniformity of the TG-CVI heater better than that designed with the analytical method.

  • Compare with diode or thyristor bridge AC/DC converter, the 3 phase PWM converter has some merits of low THD and unit power factor. So, in many critical application like as UPS, using PWM converter is the trends. 3 phase PWM converter had been studied widely already. But analytical design procedure can not found from publication for hardware design and controller design. So, in this paper, 3 phase PWM converter analysis review was given. And from the DC analysis result, parameter design was done. From the AC model, the voltage controller and current controller was designed. The gain of controllers was calculated by analytical method.

제품자료 분석을 통한 제품설계 실험 실패 요인 분석 (Analysis of Failure in Product Design Experiments by using Product Data Analytics)

  • This study assessed and analysed a result of a product design experiment through Product Data Analytics (PDA), to find reasons for failure of some projects in the experiment. PDA is a computer-based data analysis that uses Product Data Management (PDM) databases as its operational databases. The study examines 20 product design projects in the experiment, which are prepared to follow same product development process by using an identical PDM system. The design result in the PDM database is assessed and analysed by On-Line Analytical Processing (OLAP) and data mining tools in PDA. The assesment and analysis reveals the lateness in creation of 3D CAD models as the main reason of the failure.

공간고조파법을 이용한 축 자속 영구자석 회전기기의 준(準)-3D 특성 해석 (Quasi-3D analysis of Axial Flux Permanent Magnet Rotating Machines using Space Harmonic Methods)

  • This paper deals with characteristic analysis of axial flux permanent magnet (AFPM) machines with axially magnetized PM rotor using quasi-3-D analysis modeling. On the basis of magnetic vector potential and a two-dimensional (2-D) polar-coordinate system, the magnetic field solutions due to various PM rotors are obtained. In particular, 3-D problem, that is, the reduction of magnetic fields near outer and inner radius of the PM is solved by introducing a special function for radial position. And then, the analytical solutions for back-emf and torque are also derived from magnetic field solutions. The predictions are shown in good agreement with those obtained from 3-D finite element analyses (FEA). Finally, it can be judged that analytical solutions for electromagnetic quantities presented in this paper are very useful for the AFPM machines in terms of following items : initial design, sensitivity analysis with design parameters, and estimation of control parameters.

  • Direct drive servovalve(DDV) is a kind of one-stage valve since the rotary motion of DC motor is directly transferred to the linear motion of valve spool through the link. Since the structure of DDV is simple, it is less expensive, more reliable and offers reduced internal leakage and reduced sensitivity to fluid contamination. However, the flow force effect on the spool motion is significant such that it induces large steady-state error in a step response. If the proportional control gain is increased to reduce the steady-state error, the system becomes unstable. In order to satisfy the system design requirements, the classical controller is designed using the analytical Bode method.

  • In sensitivity analysis, semi-analytical method(SAM) reveals severe inaccuracy problem when relatively large rigid body motions are identified for individual elements. Recently such errors of SAM resulted by the finite difference scheme have been improved by the separation of rigid body mode. But the eigenvalue should be obtained first before the sensitivity analysis is performed and it takes much time in the case that large system is considered. In the present study, by constructing a reduced one from the original system, iterative method combined with mode decomposition technique is proposed to compute reliable semi-analytical design sensitivities. The sensitivity analysis is performed by the eigenvector acquired from the reduced system. The error of SAM caused by difference scheme is alleviated by Von Neumann series approximation.

고속주행용 화차대차의 주행안전성 (Running Safety of High Speed Freight Bogie)

  • As freight traffic becomes heavier, the high speed of existing freight cars is essential, instead of the construction of a new railway. The high speed can be achieved by the modifications of freight bogie design. In this paper, an analytical model of freight bogie is developed to decide the critical speed. The dynamic responses of the analytical model are compared with the experimental data from a running test of freight bogie and showed good agreements between them. The analytical model is used to find the design of freight bogie. The parameter studies show that the reduction of wheelset mass ratio and the increase of the axle distance of freight bogie can increase the critical speed, but the primary lateral stiffness has little effects on the critical speed. And this study also shows that smaller wheel conicity deteriorates the running safety of freight car, which means that the overhauling of the wheel of freight bogie should be done regularly.

The high speed can be achieved by the design modifications of the freight bogie. In this paper, an analytical model of freight bogie including the lateral force between rail and the flange of wheel is developed to decide the critical speed, which activates a hunting motion and tells the running safety of freight bogie. The dynamic responses of the analytical model were compared with an experimental data from a running test of a freight bogie and showed good agreements between them. The analytical model is used to find the design modifications of the freight bogie by parameter studies. The results show that the reduction of wheelset mass ratio and the increase of the axle distance of the freight bogie can increase the critical speed, but the primary lateral stiffness has little effects on the critical speed.   • Among various sensitivity evaluation techniques, semi-analytical method(SAM) is quite popular since this method is more advantageous than analytical method(AM) and global finite difference method(FDM). However, SAM reveals severe inaccuracy problem when relatively large rigid body motions are identified fur individual elements. Such errors result from the numerical differentiation of the pseudo load vector calculated by the finite difference scheme. In the present study, an iterative method combined with mode decomposition technique is proposed to compute reliable semi-analytical design sensitivities. The improvement of design sensitivities corresponding to the rigid body mode is evaluated by exact differentiation of the rigid body modes and the error of SAM caused by numerical difference scheme is alleviated by using a Von Neumann series approximation considering the higher order terms for the sensitivity derivatives.

다변수 공정에서의 외란제거를 위한 다중루프 PI 제어기의 해석적 설계 (Analytical Design of Multiloop PI Controller for Disturbance Rejection in Multivariable Processes)

  • This paper presents a new analytical approach for designing multiloop PI controllers for disturbance rejection in multivariable processes with time delay. The proposed method is based on IMC-PID design approach. To overcome a sluggish load response by dominant pole in the process, the IMC filter is modified to compensate the dominant pole effect. Based on the modified IMC filter, an analytical tuning rule for multiloop PI controller is driven by extending the generalized IMC-PID method for single input/single output (SISO) systems [1] to multi input/multi output (MIMO) systems. Simulation results show that the proposed method gives a satisfactory load performance as well as servo performance in the multiloop system.
