This study explores actual conditions and experiences on the rigor of social welfare qualitative researchers in Korea by using a qualitative inquiry. To examine the actual conditions on the rigor, this study analyzes 2,112 articles published in 8 Korean social work journals from 1979 to 2006. And to explores the experiences of social welfare qualitative researcher on the rigor, this study analyzes the experiences of qualitative research by using individual interviews and focus group interviews. The characteristics of social welfare qualitative research in Korea tend to enlarge according to the needs by doctoral candidates, coexist with post-positivism and constructivism. The analysis of both quantitative and qualitative results show that the rigor of social welfare qualitative research is very important to secure the validity and control the quality of qualitative research. Based on these results, this study introduced concrete tasks related to secure the rigor of social welfare qualitative research in Korea.
This study found out the change of spacial form of detached house in Korea on a 10-year basis from 1980s though analysis on the architecture of each period. For the subject houses of this study, the detached houses introduced repeatedly as excellent cases in technical journals for architecture were collected among those completed by architects who designed numerous houses and a survey was conducted on 18 detached houses of 18 architects among the in urban style houses in Seoul and suburban style houses in the suburbs of Seoul. Through this study, it could be found that, as the morphological application of traditional architecture was settled with spatial concept, the external spatial form of the detached houses in Korea after 1980s was changed to westernized form but the internal spacial form had been continuously changing suitable to our emotion by reflecting the living habit and taste with the traditional attitude to perceive and accept the nature. As for the change in the forms of interior space, vertical space with more than two floors became common. Front porch and stair hall, which were located at the center of a house and became an important spacial element that overlapped family's moving line, changed to open and bright space that used transparent glass and increased the space to contact the open air, reflecting our living habit and taste that preferred the feeling of internal openness. A Private space, main room, was more segmented and luxurious, and a public space, living room, secured the independency by getting close to symbolic yard. As for the change in the form of exterior space, the form of façade window has been changing in its location and size and brought free images due to the advancement of technology and material. The shape of roofs was borrowed from western style and a lot of geometrical forms that break away from the concept of angle rater and eaves are appearing.
In this paper, we introduce a modified Moore Method designed for the multivariable calculus course, and discuss about the effective teaching and learning method by observing the changes in the understanding of students' learning and the effects on students' learning in the class implemented by this modified Moore Method. This teaching experiment research was conducted with the 15 students who took the multivariable calculus course offered as a 3 week summer session in 2008 at H University. To guide the students' active preparation, stepwise course materials structured in the form of questions on the important mathematical notions were provided to the students in advance. We observed the process of the students' small-group collaborative learning activities and their presentations in the class, and analysed the students' class journals collected at the end of every lecture and the survey carried out at the end of the course. The analysis of these results show that the students have come to recognize that a deeper understanding of the subjects are possible through their active process of search and discovery, and the discussion among the peers and teaching each other allowed a variety of learning experiences and reflective thinking.
This study aims to understand the concept of pixel, the most important factor in constituting a digital image, draw the formative characteristics of pixelation image expressed through non-digital media, and develop fashion design reflecting the characteristics. As a research method, the literature review was conducted in the present study by involving domestic and foreign publications, related academic journals, and theses and dissertations on the pixel and pixelation image based on a qualitative research process. In addition, through an analysis of the cases that borrowed pixelation images in non-digital media like contemporary art and design, etc., an attempt was made to draw the formative characteristics of the pixelation image. Apparently, six fashion design looks are presented in the present study. The formative characteristics of the pixelation image include: first, the repeatability that repeats the minimum unit; second, the incompleteness of the shape appearing through the phenomenon of aliasing due to the characteristics of the pixel; and third, the combination that completes the shape through the combination of individual independent pixels. The results of the expression through reflecting them in fashion design are as follows: first, this study chose one small geometric formative element and presented repeatability by repetitively expressing that element in a textile pattern; second, for incompleteness, this study expressed an incomplete form, handling the edge part of the shape with the method of disentangling the strand; and third, the combination by completing a single look through overlapping of independent textiles and the combination of different independent individuals is expressed.
Background: In this study, the Capstone Design was applied to the clinical dental hygiene course of the Department of Dental Hygiene, and its effect was confirmed by qualitatively evaluating the students' reflection on the capstone design class experience. Methods: This study was conducted for the "Clinical Dental Hygiene and Practice III" course, in which third year students develop the ability to judge and plan dental hygiene based on problem-solving ability and critical thinking. By applying the Capstone Design within the core curriculum of the class, the students analyzed problems based on their major knowledge of dental hygiene in order to improve their ability to manipulate periodontal instruments, and focusedon the process of developing the contents of periodontal instruments by using them. Results: The application of Capstone Design on clinical dental hygiene and practice III classes increased students' active class participation, and through the problem-solving process, students' learning and confidence improved. Conclusion: The Capstone Design can be viewed as a teaching method that promotes the participation of students in the dental hygiene department and can effectively help their learning and confidence through a problem-solving process.
This study aimed to provide the basic data to effectively teach nursery practices by investigating the dilemmas experienced by nursery school teachers-in-training majoring in children's welfare during nursery practicums and factors for solving such dilemmas. To this end, a qualitative analysis was conducted using journals, daily monitoring reports and interviews with 15 nursery school teachers-in-training in the Department of Social Welfare at S Women's University. The meaning related to the theme of the research was identified by repetitive reading in the process and then, the key words were determined through the categorization process. Next, the key words with similar concepts were re-classified and the sub-theme and the main theme were selected. In accordance with the analysis, it was identified that the dilemmas experienced during nursery practicums were related to tutors, children, classes, excessive work and the self. Furthermore, the subjects reported inner conflict because they had the alternative to select nursery or social welfare. The factors relieving such dilemmas included a change of children, encouragement from colleagues and the acquisition of practical knowledge. On the basis of the analysis results, this study proposed an approach to effectively implement nursery practicums for nursery school teachers-in-training majoring in children's welfare in the discussion chapter.

The purpose of this study is to suggest the direction and implications of learning with AI in the future by analyzing the trends of research learning with AI in the field of education. For doing this, the final 78 papers published in domestic journals over the past three years from 2019 to July 2021 were selected for analysis through review. The analysis results are as follows. First of all, papers in 2020 among the three years were most published, and the most utilized research method was the qualitative research. In addition, according to the analysis by study subject, studies on elementary school students were the most common, followed by studies on college and graduate students. In the analysis by subject, research related to foreign language education was most utilized and chatbot was most used in the AI technology type. Finally, the research learning with AI accounted for the majority, and student support accounted for the majority as the type of education system learning with AI at the implementation stage among the areas of teaching and learning and evaluation. Based on these results, the direction and implications of learning with AI in the future were presented. This study is meaningful in that it grasped research trends of learning with AI in domestic from an overall perspective, and examined learning with AI focusing on the instructor-learner and the teaching and learning design process.

In this study, we analyzed the current research state of Library and Information science in top 20 journals from 1990 to 2015, in subject and method perspectives. We developed weighted subject-method network to investigate on centralities of a subject and a method as well as their relations. This network is composed of subject nodes and method nodes and gives a weight on each node by topic occurrence. As a result, for 25 years, management information system, information need analysis, bibliometrics, information policy were top topics. Modeling, literature review, scientific research impact analysis, web data analysis were top methods. A recent rise of text mining is highlighted. We also analyzed communities made from the past 25 years and the recent 5 years. Bibliometrics is extending its field by applying various network analyzing algorithms. Text mining is specialized in medical information system and user interface. This result identifies the interests of excellent studies in Library and Information Science. It also can be fundamental resource for the development of Library and Information Science.

In this study, we explored the possibility of automating the process of analyzing elements of scientific argument in the context of a Korean classroom. To gather training data, we collected 990 sentences from science education journals that illustrate the results of coding elements of argumentation according to Toulmin's argumentation structure framework. We extracted 483 sentences as a test data set from the transcription of students' discourse in scientific argumentation activities. The words and morphemes of each argument were analyzed using the Python 'KoNLPy' package and the 'Kkma' module for Korean Natural Language Processing. After constructing the 'argument-morpheme:class' matrix for 1,473 sentences, five machine learning techniques were applied to generate predictive models relating each sentences to the element of argument with which it corresponded. The accuracy of the predictive models was investigated by comparing them with the results of pre-coding by researchers and confirming the degree of agreement. The predictive model generated by the k-nearest neighbor algorithm (KNN) demonstrated the highest degree of agreement [54.04% (${\kappa}=0.22$)] when machine learning was performed with the consideration of morpheme of each sentence. The predictive model generated by the KNN exhibited higher agreement [55.07% (${\kappa}=0.24$)] when the coding results of the previous sentence were added to the prediction process. In addition, the results indicated importance of considering context of discourse by reflecting the codes of previous sentences to the analysis. The results have significance in that, it showed the possibility of automating the analysis of students' argumentation activities in Korean language by applying machine learning.

The purpose of this study was to identify the trends and risk of bias of research using time series analysis on health and welfare in Korea and to suggest a direction for future health and welfare research. The database searches identified 6,543 papers. Following the process for screening and selecting, a total of 91 papers were included in the systematic review. There has been a steady increase in the number of articles using time series analysis from 1987 to 2013. Time series analysis was applied in medicine and health science journals. The main goals were explanation and description. Most of the subjects were heath status and utilization of healthcare services. The main model used in the time series analysis was ARIMA followed by time series regression. The data were gathered from various sources, including the national statistical office and government agencies. For assessing risk of bias, some studies were found to have inadequate sample sizes or showed no time series graphs and plots. These findings suggest greater widespread utilization of time series analysis in the field of health and welfare and to use the appropriate analysis methods and statistical procedures to obtain more reliable results to improve the quality of research.
