This study is a study on Silver Class' percipience on mobile phone's LCD and a research has been conducted for configuration of an effective menu. First of all, the minimum sizes for Silver Class to perceive LCDs of mobile phones and sizes of icons or fonts within the LCDs were measured, and icons easily perceived by Silver Class were analyzed for configuring menu. These measurements it to understand what kind of display configuration has the highest demand by comparing a general public group in their 25 to 35 and a Silver Class group above 65 and suggest an alternative for that.

This paper presents a study on the introduction of User Model-Based Dialogue System. Also we present a plan-based Korean dialogue system as a natural language database user interface for product search. The system can be characterized by its support for mixed initiative to give user more control over dialogue, employment of user model to reflect user's preferences, alternative solution suggestion if there is no product matched exactly to user's requirements, handling circumlocution which frequently occurs in dialogues. The user modeling shell system BGP-MS is adapted for the system. The system provides for a user-friendly database user interface by managing dialogue intelligently. By its implementation and test, it has been shown that the user model-based dialogue system can be utilized effectively for product search.

Even though many projects of new development and redevelopment for information systems are invested, they are not taken care of from the perspective of administration and evaluation. Also, decision makers fall short of not only support the process to check alternatives and select an alternative for investment and but also provide necessary information so as to maximize the effects of investments. That is to say, the suggestion of general direction toward IT investment is debatable. Against this backdrop, we propose a value measurement model to manage information systems.

It is quite difficult to transfer the National Height System 1985 to the island in China. In the study, one feasible and alternative way, which measures synchronally the tide variation at the island and the coast , is firstly introduced. Then, a new method is proposed. This new method combines GPS technique and Quasi-Geoid Determination technique (GQGD). It needs gravity data, GPS data, leveling data and DEM data, together with complex calculation method and the Earth gravity model. After describing the mathematical model and presenting the calculational steps, one experiment has been shown that this method is valid and can achieve accuracy up to 5 cm for the normal height, compared with the results both from the tidal observation and height approximation. Some suggestion is also given in the end.

The objective of this article is to develop residential site planning techniques for the energy conservation by focusing on energy conscious site design process, influencing natural factors for energy conservation and suggestion of multi - family housing Prototypes. This article is the second part of the article titled "A Study on an Energy - Effective Site Planning for a Residential Environment"which is published in the previous issue (Vol. 12, No. 2) of this journal. The first part of the article dealt with how to make best use of energy conserving effect of natural forces such as sun, wind and water, and the selection techniques of suitable residential site for achieving energy conservation. The second part proposes the energy conscious design process of residential site development and suggests building forms of single family and multi -family housings. The three multi - family housing prototypes haute been developed which are most energy -effective ; the linear type, the cut -de -sac type and the atrium type. In the process of creating the prototypes, energy conserving design criteria have been also developed. These criteria can be used to develop some other alternative prototypes.

There is linguistic phenomenon that Korean syllable, morpheme and word are substituted with Chinese Character. These phenomenon is called Chinese Character Borrowing, the Chinese character used here is called Borrowed Chinese Character. Whereas borrowing Chinese character in Chinese is used for borrowing only sound for different word, borrowing Chinese character in Korean is used for assigning new meaning. Hence, by borrowing Chinese character in Korean, a syllable which had no meaning originally get new meaning, morpheme and word meaning has changed. At advertisement and campaign, Chinese Character Borrowing has lots of linguistical advantage such as visual immediacy, effectiveness of meaning expression. However, there are number of cases found that violate grammar rule and word constitution practice by Chinese Character Borrowing. For this reason, Chinese Character Borrowing has the problem polluting Korean along with another foreign words. Thus, this paper focus on study Chinese Character Borrowing phenomenon in Korean, and analysis its effectiveness and impact in Korean. In addition, analysis the problem of Borrowed chinese Character, and suggestion several alternative for right use of Korean is followed.

While non-uniform shapes are appearing as an apparent building style recently, most architects predominantly think structure and construction technology should support the designed shape of non-uniform structures determined by the architect. Within such a governance structure of architect's perception, the role of an engineer is emphasized for technical support only. Especially, in making a decision on a structural design and plan, if various and objective reviews are not conducted, the design is very likely to be left only as a drawing even if the design is appropriate for criteria and norms. With the recognition of such problems, the present study attempted to propose an equal cooperative relationship between architects and engineers in designing non-uniform structures in the future.

Over the last decade, the field of Southeast Asian Studies has been inundated with issues of its "territory" (or the definition of what comprises Southeast Asia), relevance and future. The methodology of approaching Southeast Asian Studies has also come under constant scrutiny providing much fodder for debate. One significant suggestion was that the field of Southeast Asian Studies should "break out of the comfort zone" (Van Schendel, Bijdragen, 2012:168(4)). This paper will explore some of the ways of approaching Southeast Asian Studies beyond that comfort zone by examining other/alternative units of studying Southeast Asia in place of the traditional (or statist) perspectives that tend to confine the field within the scope of the national/nation-state boundaries. The paper will also provide some personal observations of the author on the current state and limitations to teaching and researching Southeast Asian Studies in the region.

본 연구는 수사경과제 시행 4년이 경과한 오늘날 수사경과제에 대한 수사경찰과 지구대경찰관의 인식을 분석하여 문제점을 파악하고 다음과 같은 정책대안을 도출하였다. 첫째, 조직원의 원활한 의사소통 방안이다. 일정 비율의 수사요원과 지구대요원의 정기적인 교환근무제의 시행, 직장교육 및 특별근무의 합동, 다양한 형사활동 지원프로그램 개발로 수사업무를 체험하고 이해하는 기회를 제공하여 상호 의사소통의 원활을 기하여야 할 것이다. 둘째, 수사요원의 사기관리측면으로, 별도의 예산과 인력을 책정하여 수사부서 지원, 강력사건 발생시 형사민원처리를 지원하고, 수사팀별 사무실 겸 조사실을 배정하여 집무환경을 개선하며, 수사경과내의 승진 비율을 재조정하여 각 수사요원의 특성에 맞는 승진제도를 선택할 수 있도록 하는 등 수사요원의 사기진작 대책이 필요하다. 셋째, 업무의 효율성 확보 방안으로, 현행 단기 전문교육과정을 강화하여 실질적인 전문수사관을 양성하고, 전문수사관 자격인증시험 응시자격을 개방하여 능력 있는 모든 경찰관이 그 인증을 받을 수 있도록 하고, 수사경과 해제요건에 업무실적 하위자를 포함하여 업무태만자의 배제가 제도화 되어야 한다. 마지막으로, 업무분장의 합리성 확보이다. 팀장의 직접처리사건 가이드라인을 설정하여 팀장의 역할에 충실할 수 있도록 하며, 수사업무량 측정의 객관적인 기준을 설정하고, 단순.경미한 사건에 한하여 죄종별 전담제도와 별도의 전담팀 활용, 숙달된 수사관에게는 난이도가 높은 사건을 배당하여 업무분장의 합리성을 확보하여야 할 것이다.

이 연구에서 19세기말-20세기 초 영국의 토인비 홀과 미국의 헐 하우스 두 인보관의 사상과 활동을 소환하는 목적은 첫째, 당시 사회복지실천이 점진적으로 형태를 갖추게 된 계기와 당초의 뜻을 찾아보는 것이다. 둘째, 개인화의 문제와 대안의 공동체 만들기가 공존하는 이 시기에 당시 '사회적 일'로 시작된 맥락과 영국과 미국의 특징적인 활동을 통해 사회복지실천의 현재 의미와 정체성에 유용한 함의를 얻고자 하였다. 이 연구는 기존 문헌들을 활용하여 서사를 고찰하되 인보관이라는 장소가 복지공간으로 구성된 당시 시대정신과 활동, 지도력을 목적과 위치, 전문성과 교육, 사회행동 차원으로 분석하며 오늘의 의미를 살리고자 하였다. 유용한 분석 결과는 첫째, 자선조직협회와 인보관은 상반되기 보다는 빈곤에의 대응책으로 '제안-실행-비판-대안의 제안-사회복지실천의 대두'가 진행된 일련의 과정 속에서 볼 필요가 있다. 둘째, 인보관은 빈곤문제를 중심으로 계층, 젠더, 개인적인 것과 사회적인 것, 민간과 공공의 개입 등 여러 현상을 담은 담지자로서 복지공간을 구성하였다. 셋째, 두 인보관은 상이점도 있지만 둘 다 공공의 선과 안녕을 목적으로 하여 사회적인 일, 즉 사회복지실천을 구체화시켰다. 끝으로, 인보관의 복지공간으로서의 의의와 사회복지실천을 위한 함의를 논의하였다.
