The Prediction and Evaluation Air Pollutants Concentration around Industrial Complex by using Atmospheric Dispersion Models -Based on ISCST3, FDM, AERMOD- (대기확산모델을 사용한 공단주변지역의 대기오염물질농도 예측 및 평가 -ISCST3, FDM, AERMOD를 중심으로-)

  • We will calculate concentration of air pollutants using ISCST3, FDM and AERMOD of models recommended in U. S. EPA which are able to predict concentration of short term for point source, complex like industrial complex, power plant and burn-up institution. Before executing model, as analyzing computational result of many cases according to selecting of input data, we will increasing predictable ability of model in limit range of model. Especially, we analyzed three cases-case of considering various emission rate according to time scale and not, case considering effect of atmospheric pollution materials removed by physical process. In our study, after comparing and analyzing results of three model, we choose the atmospheric dispersion model reflected well the characteristic of the area. And we will investigate how large the complex pollutant sources such as industrial complex contribute to atmospheric environment and air quality of the surrounding the area as predicting and estimating chosen model.

  • Over the last two decades, air quality models have been developed and used in the United States. Many of these models ate distributed as parts of UNAMAP. These models have been used as useful tools for urban air quality management in Korea. However, when we use these models, many problems could be occured because of their different topographical and meteorological conditions. In the present study it is described that the characteristics about developement of the local scale diffusion models for application to Korea. Also for evaluation purpose of the models, input data requirements such as air pollutant concentrations, emission inventory, meteorological data, and field experiment data, were discussed.

  • Hot air drying is a method that let moistures evaporate by heat exchange between heating air and dry target. This way is dominating more than about 70% of dryers that the use extent is wide fairly, and is established in domestic than dryer that use conduction or radiation etc. Most of research about drying had been emphasized in size of device through analysis for these dry phenomenon plain, heating topology, and aspect of form and so on by dry target's special quality, and research about device development or waste heat withdrawal technology in energy utilization efficiency side is slight real condition. Therefore, in this study, Investigated numerically about thermal efficiency elevation that is leaned against as that change the temperature of inlet and outlet in heat exchanger of the hot air drying tower.

  • Indoor air quality becomes of a concern recently in view of human health. This study investigates the air diffusion performance and the air change efficiency of a classroom, when outdoor air is introduced in two different ways in addition to the heating/cooling operation of a ceiling-mounted heat pump. A CFD analysis has been performed to investigate the effect of the discharge angle of the air jets from the heat pump for both parallel and series types of outdoor air system. It is observed that the series type creates more uniform indoor environment compared to the parallel type in general. It can be concluded the discharge angle should not be larger than 40o for the parallel type, in order not to generate thermal stratification in the room.

  • The air-side particulate fouling in the heat exchangers of HVAC applications degrades the performance of cooling capacity, pressure drop across a heat exchanger, and indoor air quality. Indoor and outdoor air contaminants foul heat exchangers. The purpose of this study is to investigate the cooling performance and pressure drop on the air-side particulate fouling of heat exchangers for air conditioners. Air conditioners being used in the field such as inn, restaurant, and office are collected in chronological used order. Test results show 15% decrease of the cooling capacity and 44% increase of the pressure drop for the 7 years air conditioners used in the seaside inn.
