  • As an effective means to convey crushed materials from seabed to on board ship and to raise hazardous or abrasive liquids air-lift pump provides a reliable mechanism due to its simple config-uration and easy-to-operate principle. The present study is focused on fundamental investigation of related performance by the analysis program based on the gas-liquid two-phase flow in circular pipes. The program covers pump operating in isothermal and vertical two-phase flow with Newto-nian liquids. it is summarized as important result that an optimum air mass flow rate exists for the maximum lifted liquid mass flow rate in terms of a given submergence rates and furthermore attachment of downcomer gives little effects on riser performance the conveyed liquid flow rate increases with larger submergence rate.

흡입공기분류를 가로지르는 가솔린 분무의 유동 특성 연구 (A Study on the Flow Characteristics of Gasoline Spray across the Suction Air Stream)

  • When a fuel was injected with opening the intake valve of a port fuel injection engine, the spray atomization and flow characteristics in the intake port have a strong influence on the mixture formation of a combustion chamber. Thus , this study was to clarify the spray flow characteristics of the air-assist gasoline spray with fine dropkets across the suction air stream in model intake port. For the simulated opening intake valve in port, suction air stream was varied to 10m/s ∼30m/s. And fuel pressur ewas fixed to 300kPa, but air assist pressure was varied to 0∼25kPa for a vairable spray conditions. Spray flow trajectory was investigated by means of laser sheet visualization and the measurements of droplet sizes and velocities were made by PDPA system. Measured droplets within the spray flow field were subdivided into five size groups and then, the flow characteristics of droplet size groups were investigated to the spray across a suction air stream.

수직원관 외부 유하액막 열전달에 주변 기체유동이 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Surrounding Gas Flow on the Heat Transfer of the Falling Film Flowing Down the Outside of a Vertical Tube)

  • Heat transfer characteristics were investigated for the falling film flowing down the outside of an electrically heated vertical tube. Water was used for the falling film, and its Reynolds number was varied in the range of 70~500. Because water is heated and evaporated as it flows down, both sensible and latent heat transfer should be considered. The effect of the surrounding air movement was investigated by changing the direction of the air injection; without air injection, parallel-flow, and counter-flow. For all cases, sensible teat transfer rate was almost linearly increased with the increasing film flow rate. It was found that the film heat transfer coefficient was hardly influenced by the parallel air flow. However, the counter-flow of air reduced the heat transfer coefficient, which might be caused by the uneven distribution or flooding of the film. At high heat flux, a sudden change of the film heat transfer coefficient was detected as the film flow rate reached the transition value. It is supposed that this phenomenon was caused by the change in the film flow pattern.

충진재(Filler)가 대향류형(Counter Flow Type) 냉각탑 유동에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구 (Effect of Filler on the Flow of Counter Flow Type Cooling Tower)

  • The white plume from the cooling tower can be generated by mixing between discharging hot and humid air and cold air outside. This causes various problems such as icing, traffic disturbances, and fire factors in the vicinity, moreover it can also damage the image of a company. Various methods can be used to prevent white plume, one of them is to install a heat exchanger at the outlet of the cooling tower so that the heat exchanger transfers as much heat as possible to lower the temperature. Therefore the air flow path in the cooling tower should be optimized. Installation of the filler can be used to make the air flow better, thus we investigate the effect of filler on the air flow using CFD method. The pressure and velocity profile in the cooling tower could be acquired by the calculations. The filler made the velocity of the air entering the heat exchanger uniform this was because high flow resistance of the filler suppresses the generation of eddy in the cooling tower. But the total air pressure drop increased about 2 times with filler because the pressure drop by the filler accounted for about 60% of the total pressure drop.

벼 상온통풍건조시설의 송풍특성 (Airflow Characteristics of Natural Air Drying for Rough Rice)

  • This study was conducted to define the characteristics of the fan according to the bed depth of rough rice for the silo used in South Korea. In this study, the characteristics like air flow resistance and air flow rate of the fan were investigated for an independent blowing system with 1 fan and the serial blowing system with 2 fans. In the experiment, the depth of rough rice was determined by 0, 1, 2, 3.2 and 4.5 m for an independent blowing system and the depth of rough rice was 4.5 m for the serial blowing system. The air flow resistances of the blowing fan and the suction fan in an independent blowing system were 55 mmAq and 88 mmAq respectively. In addition, the air flow resistance of the serial blowing system was 61% lower than the blowing fan and 28% lower than the suction fan of the independent blowing system. The air flow rates of the blowing fan and the suction fan in the serial blowing system were 516 $m^3/min$, 570 $m^3/min$, respectively. The former was 22% higher than the blowing fan while the latter was 29% higher than the suction fan in the independence blowing system. In other words, the serial blowing system was superior to the independent blowing system in blowing characteristics because the air flow rate was lower and air flow resistance was higher than the independent blowing system. However, the fan power consumption of the serial blowing system was more than 100% comparing with the independent blowing system.

자동차 통풍 시트의 유량 평가 (Estimation of Air Flow Rate in Automotive Ventilated Seat)

  • 소비자들의 요구 증가로 고급차종에만 적용하던 통풍 시트는 점차 중소형 차종으로 확대 적용되고 있는 추세이다. 팬에서 발생한 유량이 폼 패드, 필터 폼 및 시트 커버 등을 통과하는 과정에서 많은 손실이 발생하기 때문에, 착좌면에 도달하는 유량의 정확한 해석은 쉽지 않다. 또한 유로 형상이 복잡하여 이의 정확한 모델링 없이는 착좌면에 도달하는 정확한 유량의 해석이 힘들다. 본 연구에서는 팬에서 발생한 유동이 통기 매트와 폼 패드를 통과하였을 때의 유량을 해석하였으며, 해석결과와 실험결과를 비교하였다. 해석에서 유동분산판 내부의 돌기 형상을 보다 정확하게 모델링함으로써, 해석결과와 실험결과의 경향을 정확하게 일치시킬 수 있었다. 유량이 통기성 재료인 패드 폼을 통과하는 과정에서 발생한 손실을 실험으로 측정하여 해석결과를 보정함으로써 해석결과와 실험결과를 정확하게 일치시킬 수 있었다. 다음으로 필터 폼과 시트 커버를 통과하여 착좌면에 도달하는 유량을 실험으로 측정하였다. 착좌면에서의 유량이 많지 않아서, 유량 콘을 사용하여 유량을 측정하였다. 팬에서 발생한 유량의 약 35.7%만이 최종적으로 착좌면에 도달하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • Numerical simulation model using nesting method and considering topographic features was developed to predict atmospheric environments atmospheric flow temperature and diffusion of air pollutants in Kwangyang bay where having complex areas of point sources Korea. In addition developed simulation model was used tracing of spreading range of pollutants when a gas leaks suddenly from Yeo-cheon industrial complex. by comparing the measured and calculated data on atmospheric flow temperature and diffusion of air pollutants the results showed that this model can be well applied and complicated topography affected the diffusion of air pollutants.

바닥복사냉방의 결로방지를 위한 제습제어에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Dehumidification Control to Prevent Condensation for Radiant Floor Cooling)

  • In the forming of an integrated system of radiant floor cooling and dehumidifying, chilled coil can be used for cooling and dehumidification. Therefore, it is necessary to find the efficient control method which can eliminates latent load efficiently. This study has been conducted to find this method by dividing the dehumidification system into 3 types according to the control variables and analyzing characteristics of each system. To prevent the floor surface condensation, the amount of condensation can be manipulated by water temperatures, water flow rates in chilled coil, and air flow rates passing by it. So dehumidification system control can be divided into constant air flow control and variable air flow control. Regarding dehumidification control, variable air flow control, which eliminates latent load rather than sensible load, is preferable to constant flow control.

  • The importance of intake system can not be overstressed in the recent heavy duty commercial vehicle design. The basic requirements of intake system are to have less flow resistance and better air cleaning performance which have direct effects on the performance and service life of engine. In order to improve the performance of engine intake system, the flow phenomena in the intake system should be fully understood. With readily availble CFD code, the numerical analysis becomes the more reliable tools for flow optimization in recent design work. In this research, flow field in the intake system was analyzed by STAR-CD, the 3-D computational fluid dynamics code. Especially, the flow inside of air cleaner was thoroughly analyzed. Pressure distribution and velocity profile in the air cleaner and intake duct was obtained. Having the dust seperated from incoming air at the expense of less pressure drop is the ultimate goal for the research.

  • 본 연구에서는 액주가 가장 긴 평활류 조건하에서 여기에 동축수직하방으로 공기를 흘렸을 경우, 액주분열에 영향을 미친다고 생각되는 제 인자 즉, 액체유속, 공 기유속, 액체노즐과 공기 오리피스 직경의 비, 노즐의 형상, 기액 접촉개시 위치등을 변화시켜 분열과정 및 분열기구를 규명하고, 이류체 분사노즐의 설계기준을 제공하는 것을 그 목적으로 한다.
