Based on the supply location, demand location, and transportation network, aggregate supply-demand characteristics and aggregate distribution status were analyzed from the results of the closest distance, service areas, and location-allocation scenarios using GIS network analysis. As a result, it was found that the average transport distance of aggregates from the supplier was 6 km on average, the average range of 7 km for sand, and 10 km for gravel was found to reach the destination. In particular, the simulated service area covers about 92% in Seoul-Gyeonggi Province, 85% in Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Province, and more than 90% in Daejeon-Sejong-Chungnam Province. These results have a significant implication in quantitatively interpreting primary data on aggregate supply-demand. Furthermore, these results suggest the possibility of a wide-area quantitative analysis of aggregate supply regions necessary for establishing a basic aggregate plan. The results also evaluated by the site-allocation scenario show that aggregate supply may be possible through companies less than 200 with large-amounts quarries, which is the 700 companies currently supplying small amounts of aggregates on the country. Therefore, in terms of distribution of aggregates, a policy approach is needed to form an appropriate market for regions with high and low density of aggregate supply services, and the necessity of regional distribution and re-evaluation is suggested through an aggregate supply analysis demand across the country. Furthermore, in analyzing the supply-demand network for the aggregate market, additional research is needed to establish long-term policies for the aggregate industry and related industries.
The concrete industry of developing countries like India consumes majority of natural resources. The increase in population has necessitated the construction of more and more structures. Further many structures have completed their life span or have undergone damages thus warranting the demolition of these structures. India produces approximately 23.75 million tons of recycled concrete aggregate (RCA) annually. The natural resources are depleting at a higher rate with the increasing demand of concrete industry. This difficulty can be reduced with the use of RCA in land fill and concrete manufacturing. Use of RCA can provide cost savings and better energy utilization. This paper presents mechanical behavior of concrete comprising successively recycled concrete aggregate. Mechanical properties of recycled concrete get affected with number of recycling. In mix design successive recycled concrete aggregate (SRCA) was used in place of natural aggregates (NA) with 100% replacement. The test results of the compressive, flexural strength and pulse velocity were obtained for 14 and 28 days of curing age which showed significant improvement in results.

The aim of this research is the feasibility analysis of the reject ash premixed cement mortar with combined aggregate. Namely, for the combined aggregate with two different qualities of aggregates, a fundamental properties of cement mortar was evaluated depending on various replacing ratios of reject ash(Ri). According to the experimental results, the combined aggregate consisted with low-quality aggregate and sea sand did not change the flow value depending on the reject ash while the combined aggregates consisted with low quality aggregate and sea sand; and consisted exploded debris sand and sea sand the increasing reject ash increased the air content with increased replacing ratio of reject ash. In the case of compressive strength, as the replacing ratio of reject ash was increased, the compressive strength was increased. It is considered that when 5% of reject ash replacing ratio made similar quality of cement mortar with favorable quality aggregate, hence, it can be suggested that 5% replacement of reject ash for desirable fluidity and compressive strength of concrete.

The objective of this paper is to investigate experimentally the effect of the substitution of recycled aggregates under 13mm on the properties of the concrete using coarse aggregate with size of 13~25mm. Recycled aggregate under 13mm were substituted to the concrete ranged from 10% to 100%. To compare the properties with the case of recycled aggregate, crushed stone with smaller than 13mm was also substituted to the concrete by 20% and 40%. Test results showed that increase of recycled aggregate under 13mm resulted in the increase of slump and compressive strength compared with plain mixture, which was made with only aggregate with 13~25mm size. This is due to the dense gradation of aggregate in association with addition of relatively small particle. It is thought that the use of recycled aggregate under 13mm along with 30% contributes to the quality improvement of the concrete made with only 13~25mm aggregate.

The properties of recycled fine aggregates which had different source concrete were examined by mortar test. With higher strength of source concrete, specific gravity of recycled fine aggregate was higher and absorption of recycled fine aggregate was lower due to reduction of the volume of adhered cement paste. The compressive strength and flexible strength of mortar with recycled fine aggregate were affected by the interface boundary of new mortar and the strength of adhered mortar. Strength development of mortar with recycled fine aggregate reduced because recycled fine aggregate become a porous material with the smaller strength of source concrete. The drying shrinkage of mortar was about$800{\sim}2000{\mu}m/m$. It was about 1.5 times than that of mortar with natural fine aggregate. Relative dynamic modulus of elasticity was a similar level with that of mortar with natural fine aggregate.

This study was on leaching test(KSLT, TCLP) of the aggregate for the products(RA-1) and for the site(RA-2) to evaluate the characteristics of contaminants and the possibility of contamination arising from the aggregate. On the basis pH, conductivity and heavy metal contents in the aggregate, RA-1 indicated higher than RA-2. As a result of the leaching test, the pollutants were eluted from the aggregate increased as the particle size of the aggregate was smaller. The pH in the aggregate had a strong alkali by a pH value of 9.0~12.3, the conductivity was higher in less than 10mm RA-1 due to the leaching of dissolved inorganic ions. The heavy metals satisfied the leaching standards of KSLT and less 10% was eluted from the aggregate. As a result of evaluating water pollution possibility of the aggregate, the pH displayed in items with a very high possibility of contamination, conductivity and turbidity did in item with a low possibility of contamination and on the other hand the heavy metals did in item with a very low possibility of contamination.

The availability of natural aggregates has decreased in recent years due to depleting reserves. From the viewpoint of energy and resources saving, it may be advantageous to use the waste concrete as construction aggregates. The purpose of this study is to analyze petrographic and chemical properties of recycled aggregate, and to investigate the resistance of concrete to rapid freezing and thawing by using replacement ratios (0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 100% ) of recycled aggregate.
Aggregate collection is taking place in many areas in Korea, resulting in large cut slopes or large amounts of cut rocks. If the development site for such aggregate collection is a stratum accompanied by sulfide minerals, Acid Rock Drainage (ARD) may occur, which may cause environmental pollution in the development site and surrounding areas. As a result of the study on forest aggregate samples, most of the samples were classified as acid-forming potential samples, and among them, some samples from Gwangju, Goyang, and Sokcho were classified as potential acid-generating samples. This can be expected to affect the quality of aggregates when a large amount of aggregate is used in the future. Therefore, it is judged that these forest aggregates need to be managed when they are used. By predicting the occurrence of ARD through the acid-generating ability test, it is expected that economic losses that may occur in the future can be reduced, and it is judged that the problem of surrounding environmental pollution can be further alleviated.

Recently, the gap between demand and supply of natural aggregate has increased owing to the depletion of aggregate sources. Therefore, policy support is necessary for the stable supply of aggregate resources. Public and construction works experience problems when they do not receive a steady supply of aggregate. Further, instabilities in aggregate supply lead to increases in aggregate prices, and consequently construction costs. As a result, the likelihood of poor construction using low-grade aggregate increases. It is therefore crucial to put measures in place that deal with these issues. This study aims to reduce the load imposed by aggregate use on the environment by recycling soil dredged from sewage ducts to reduce the gap between supply and demand of fine aggregate. The dredged soil is assessed using an applicability test for quality characteristics and solidification with basic properties. This study aims to secure the safety of dredging soil and solidified objects through interior physical and chemical analyses and to utilize it as a base material for concrete solidification in the future.

Utilization of demolished-concrete as recycled aggregate has been researched for the purpose of substituing for insufficient natural aggregate, saving resources and protecting environment. There, however, are some problems that qualities of recycled aggregates are not only largely diverse, but also mechanical properties of recycled aggregate concrete decrease a little in comparison with those of natural aggregate concrete. In this study, the resistance to freezing and thawing of recycled aggregate concrete was highly different due to adhered mortar on recycled aggregate, and durability factor of concrete with NA SRA and DRA was decreased more than that of control concrete. However, durability factor of concrete with AA SRA was larger than that of control concrete.
