  • Smart Factory consists of digital automation solutions throughout the production process, including design, development, manufacturing and distribution, and it is an intelligent factory that installs IoT in its internal facilities and machines to collect process data in real time and analyze them so that it can control itself. The smart factory's equipment works in a physical combination of numerous hardware, rather than a virtual character being driven by a single object, such as a game. In other words, for a specific common goal, multiple devices must perform individual actions simultaneously. By taking advantage of the smart factory, which can collect process data in real time, if reinforcement learning is used instead of general machine learning, behavior control can be performed without the required training data. However, in the real world, it is impossible to learn more than tens of millions of iterations due to physical wear and time. Thus, this paper uses simulators to develop grid sortation systems focusing on transport facilities, one of the complex environments in smart factory field, and design cooperative multi-agent-based reinforcement learning to demonstrate efficient behavior control.

  • This paper presents the design procedure for soccer-playing rovots based on the centralized approach. Using a fast vision system, we obtain the configuration of each robot and then the host computer computes the desired motion and commands each robot directly via RF communication. The robot soccer game has a lot of problems such as obstacle avoidance, coordination between robots, dribbling the ball, and so on. To implement such motions, we think that the centralized approach seems to be more powerful than the distributed approach. We describe the technical tips for developing the robots in detail here and explain our strategy for getting the scores.

  • This experiment was conducted to test the efficiency of environmentally friendly materials for controlling garlic leaf blight by Stemphylium botryosum. Fifty five kinds of environmental friendly control agents are obtained from commercial market and are tested for spore germination using 96 well plate and among them, five agents (copper-, sulfur-, medinal herb extract-, sulfur+sodium bicarbonate- and oligo chitosan based compound) are selected for field test from 2012 and 2013 year. With reference of 2012 year test result, copper and oligo chitosan based compounds are chosen as 2013 year test. When the first symptoms were appeared early May season and environmental friendly control agents are applied as prompt as possible, the control value of copper and oligo chitosan based agents are 54% and 90% respectively as compared to the occasion of chemical agent Antracol WP (propineb 70%) and yield of bulbs are increased by 16% and 34% against untreated control and marketable garlic bulb yield were 79% and 95% against Antracol WP treatment, respectively. From this result, oligo chitosan based compound can be a good organic control agent candidate for garlic leaf blight disease in organic garlic cultivation.

  • Background: As the third generation of platinum-based antineoplastic agent aginst gastrointestinal cancer, oxaliplatin is considered to be associated with severe sensory neurotoxicity. Acorrding to previous studies, vitaminE, intravenous Ca/Mg and glutamine may partly reduce the incidence and severity of oxaliplatin-induced neurotoxicity. The aim of this study was to investigate the safety and efficacy of analgecine for preventing oxaliplatin-induced neurotoxicity in the patients with gastrointestinal tumors. Method: In this study, patients undergoing oxaliplatin-based chemotherapy were assigned to analgecine (experimental) group or control group. Analgecine 6ml was administered once a day for seven days from the day of oxaliplatin treatment. The National Cancer Institute Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events (NCI CTCAE; version 3) was used to evaluate oxaliplatin-induced neurotoxicity. The incidence rates and grade of neurotoxicity of patients were assessed before and during (after four and eight cycles) treatment. Results: Totally, 82 patients were enrolled in this study, 42 in experimental group and 40 in control group. The occurrence of each grade neurotoxicity in the experimental group was significantly lower than that in control group. The overall occurrence rate was 31% vs 55% (P=0.043) after 4 cycles and 52% vs 75% (P=0.050) after 8 cycles. Conclusion: Analgecine appears could be effective in reducing oxaliplatin-induced neurotoxicity and be applicated for patients with gastrointestinal tumors who would be treated with oxaliplatin-based chemotherapy.

  • The effects of different types of process control agents (PCA) on the microstructure evolution of Ni-based oxide dispersion-strengthened superalloy have been investigated. Alloy synthesis was performed on elemental powders having a nominal composition of Ni-15Cr-4.5Al-4W-2.5Ti-2Mo-2Ta-0.15Zr-1.1Y2O3 in wt % using high energy ball milling for 5 h. The prepared powders are consolidated by spark plasma sintering at 1000℃. Results indicated that the powder ball-milled with ethanol as PCA showed large particle size, low carbon content and homogeneous distribution of elemental powders compared with the powder by stearic acid. The sintered alloy prepared by ethanol as PCA exhibited a homogeneous microstructure with fine precipitates at the grain boundaries. The microstructural characteristics have been discussed on the basis of function of the PCA.

  • This paper describes the configuration of a multi-agent system that can recognize human intentions. This system constructs ontologies of human intentions and enables knowledge acquisition and sharing between intelligent agents operating in different environments. This is achieved by using a bi-directional associative memory network. The process of intention recognition is based on fuzzy association inferences. This paper shows the process of information sharing by using ontologies. The purpose of this research is to create human-centered systems that can provide a natural interface in their interaction with people.

  • Distributed Artificial Intelligence (DAI) aims to study and develop techniques that allow interaction among intelligent entities. In the last two decades, some types of DAI architecture have been proposed for various fields. However, it can be noticed that the inconsistency phenomenon has not been dealt with properly. This is probably due to the fact that this phenomenon cannot be handled (at least directly) with classical logic. Hence, to deal with such inconsistencies directly, one should employ a logic other than the classical one. The DAI Architecture described in this work is based on a nonclassical logic called Annotated Paraconsistent Logic.

  • The LED technology advancement introduce cuttingedge technology on Internet of Things (IoT) to connect the physical world to the digital realm, using digital smart lighting infrastructure called Internet of light (IoL). This paper proposes an Integrated IoT agent on networked smart LED lighting controller called IoL Filed Gateway using lighting infrastructure in which a lighting system that can connect to a network and can be monitored and controlled from a centralized system or via the cloud. The IoL Field Gateway defines new world of smart connected intelligence, lighting can become an integral and responsive part of everyday human life environments. The proposed connected lighting gateway uses the concept of multi-hop ad hoc network using visible light communication (VLC) with RF wireless technologies and Wired PLC (Power Line Communication). This connectivity and intelligence integrated into LED-based luminaires form the backbone of smart buildings and cities and make the Internet of Things (IoT) vision feasible and enables the lighting administrator can control numerous lightings easily and visitors can get visual information from the lightings with their smart devices. The proposed IoL gateway design is emulated on Arduino based HW platform with VLC, RF, and PLC connectivity and evaluated with four sensor interface.
