  • In this paper, we designed and fabricated a fast switching system for high power pulse. This system consists of a voltage conversion circuit, high voltage charging circuit, trigger circuit, and discharging circuit. Especially discharging line is designed by strip-line for low inductance and resistance. The experimental result is that current slew rate of the system is 6.67kA/86ns and this result is fully qualified for initiating EBW or EFI

An Additional Mechanism for the Cytotoxicity of 2-Chloroethylethyl Sulfide in Spleen Lymphocytes; Lysosomal Labilization

  • Exposure of spleen lymphocytes to 2-chloroethylethyl sulfide (CEES) leads to a reduction of the intracellular ATP level, followed by a decrease in cell viability. Addition of nicotinamide, an inhibitor of poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PADPRP), restores both ATP level and viability, indicating that an activation of PADPRP is responsible for the cytotoxicity of CEES. The involvement of a $Ca^{2+}$-mediated process in cytotoxicity is suggested. Verapamil, EGTA, trifluoperazine, and butacaine exhibit a partial protection (20 to 58%) against the cytotoxicity of CEES. Investigation of the causative role of proteolytic degradation in cell death indicate that pepstatin and leupeptin exert a substantial protective effect (60 to 70%), suggesting the involvement of lysosomal destabilization in CEES-induced cytotoxicity. Also, lysosomotropic agents markedly decrease the cytotoxicity. Lysosomal labilization may be a mechanism for the cytotoxicity of CEES.

통합된 상용 툴을 이용한 전투기급 항공기 개념설계 (Conceptual Design of Fighter-class Aircraft Using Integrated Commercial Tools)

  • Automated design program using commercial process integration and optimization program was developed for conceptual design of fighter-class aircraft. Wind tunnel test data and performance analysis results were compared for the verification of analysis tool of this program, and the usefulness of the tool was found. After integration with radar cross section analysis tool, the correlation with configuration design variables of wing, tail and performance parameters was identified by design of experiment, and the optimized configuration for weight and RCS was derived from optimization of empty weight and average frontal RCS value. After parameter definition of fuselage, the program can be implemented for full aircraft configuration.

함정 전투체계 함상시험을 위한 지원장비 설계 및 검증 연구 (A Study on the Design and Verification-Validation of the Supportive Equipment for Shipyard Test of Naval Combat System)

  • The Shipyard Test of Naval Combat System depends on external factors, such as weather conditions and availability of its sensor-weapon, due to the need of on-board sensor-weapon during the test. This paper suggests the Supportive Equipment using virtual simulator for Shipward Test, in case of the unavailability of the on-board sensor-weapon or the test support force(aircraft, surface ship etc.), to pre-check the functions of the combat system as well as to prepare the Shipyard Test. To mock the real sensor-weapon functions as similar as possible, the Supportive Equipment for Shipyard Test was verified by the Verification and Validation process, which is usually performed while developing models in the Modeling & Simulation field.

Numerical Analysis of the Effect of Fuselage of Fan-in-body Aircraft on the Pusher Propeller

  • In this study, CFD analysis was conducted to compare the aerodynamic performance of the isolated propeller and pusher propeller, which is affected by the wake of wide fuselage. The moving reference frame (MRF) method was used for isolated propeller analysis, while the MRF and sliding mesh method were used sequentially for the pusher propeller to analyze the change in the aerodynamic characteristics based on the azimuth angle. Under the same torque condition, the thrust of the pusher propeller was greater than that of the isolated propeller. Thrust increment of the pusher propeller was mainly generated near the root of the blade where the fuselage wake was concentrated. The net efficiency of the pusher propeller was greater than or equal to that of the isolated propeller. Because of the flat fuselage shape, thrust and torque of the pusher propeller periodically changed with the rotation of the propeller.

  • Copper (Cu)-based catalysts have been widely used in a methanol steam reforming (MSR) reaction for hydrogen production for air-independent propulsion (AIP) applications and their good catalytic activities have attracted much attention. However, the agglomeration of the catalytic active site Cu causes deteriorating the catalytic performance and suppression of Cu agglomeration is a crucial issue in the AIP applications that the MSR system is typically operated at 250-300℃ for a long time. R. Sakai et al. recently showed a computational study on the anchoring effect that reduces an agglomeration of active sites by doping in a supporter. In order to present the anchoring effect on 𝛾-Al2O3 supported Cu-based catalysts, in this study, the adsorption energies of Cu on X-doped (X=ruthenium, phosphorus, silicon) 𝛾-Al2O3 were calculated and Cu adsorption energy decreased due to a change of the electronic structure originated from doping, thereby proving the anchoring effect.

SEAD 임무를 위한 유·무인 협업 모의 (Simulation for SEAD Mission with MUM-T)

  • In the air power, UAVs have played a large and diversified role in performing missions from simple to high-level complex ones. In particular, the suppression of enemy air defenses(SEAD) is very dangerous for a pilot so it is expected that the manned-unmanned teaming(MUM-T) system with tailless stealthy unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) will greatly enhance effectiveness of the mission while ensuring the pilot safe. This paper describes simulation studies of remote airborne control(RAC) environment for performing the SEAD mission by MUM-T, by which the air force pilot remotely controls tailless UAVs individually or small UAVs in swarm. Through this simulation, air force pilot can derive the concept of MUM-T mission operation with various UAVs in the future, and it can be used to upgrade the MUM-T system by verifying the effectiveness of the mission.

  • In this study, CPPS(Compact Pulsed Power Suppy) has been developed. The goals of CPPS are charging energy 150kJ, trapezoidal pulsed power shaping of 150~250MW with about 1msec pulse width, consecutive charging rate of several times/min, and total system volume below $0.5m^3$. The CPPS is composed of 4 modules of 37.5kJ which can be operated independently. This paper describes the design, setup and performance of CPPS in experiment and simulation.

  • 국방 연구개발은 사용군의 요구사항을 만족시키는 무기체계를 최단 기간, 최소 비용 및 고품질로 개발하고자 노력하고 있으며, 통합 무기체계 데이터베이스 전산 환경 하에서 체계공학 및 동시공학을 체계적으로 구현하기 위한 연구개발 프로세스 및 도구들이 개발되고 있다. 항공 무기체계 분야에서 본 논문의 연구개발 과정에서 생성되는 기술 자료를 효율적으로 관리하기 위한 웹기반 체계운영관리시스템을 개발 및 운용하고 있으며, 기존 항공 무기체계 연구개발 사업에 적용하여 그 효율성을 입증 및 검증하였다. 이에 본 논문에서는 통합 무기체계 데이터베이스 기반으로 향후 개발 예정인 보라매 사업, 무인항공기 및 무인전투기에 적용 가능한 통합 연구개발 프레임웍(Framework) 및 체계운영관리시스템의 발전 방안에 대해서 기술한다.

  • 밀리미터파 대역인 W-대역에서 초고이득 반사배열안테나를 구현하기 위하여 이중 반사판형태 중 주 반사판으로 향하는 전파가 급전부로 되돌아오지 않도록 하여 안테나의 효율 및 이득 특성을 크게 개선한 축이동 그레고리안 안테나를 금속 반사배열안테나 형태로 구현하였다. 금속 반사배열안테나의 경우, 유전체를 이용한 반사배열의 안테나와 달리 기판에 의한 손실이 없으며, 금속가공만으로 제작될 수 있는 제작의 편의성을 갖고 있다. 본 논문에서는 사각형 금속 개구의 배열을 이용하여 50 dBi 이상의 초고이득 축이동 금속 반사배열안테나를 설계하고, 일반적인 기계 가공을 이용하여 안테나를 제작하였으며, 제작된 안테나는 밀리미터파 컴팩트 레인지 안테나 측정시스템을 이용하여 검증하였다.
