  • In processing space geodetic data, mapping functions are used to convert the tropospheric signal delay along the zenith direction to the line of sight direction. In this study, we compared three mapping functions by evaluating their effects on the tropospheric signal delay and position estimates in GPS data processing. The three mapping functions tested are Niell Mapping Function (NMF), Vienna Mapping Function 1 (VMF1), and Global Mapping Function (GMF). The tropospheric delay and height estimates from VMF1 and GMF are compared with the ones obtained with NMF. The differences among mapping functions show annual signals with the maximum occurring in February or August. To quantitatively estimate the discrepancies among mapping functions, we calculated the maximum difference and the amplitude using a curve fitting technique. Both the maximum difference and amplitude have high correlations with the latitude of the site. Also, the smallest difference was found around $30^{\circ}N$ and the amplitudes increase toward higher latitudes. In the height estimates, the choice of mapping function did not significantly affect the vertical velocity estimate, and the precision of height estimates was improved at most of the sites when VMF1 or GMF was used instead of NMF.

  • The RBSPICE (Radiation Belt Storm Probes Ion Composition Experiment) is one of five instrument suites onboard the twin Van Allan Probes (or Radiation Belt Storm Probes; RBSP), launched August 30, 2012 by NASA. One of science targets of RBSPICE instrument is to determine "how changes in that ring current affect the creation, acceleration, and loss of radiation belt particles?". For that purpose, it measures ions and electrons simultaneously. Ion's energy range is from ~20 keV to ~1 MeV and electron's energy channel is from ~35 keV to 1 MeV in order to provide supplementary information about the radiation belts. In this paper, we investigate a reliability of the electron flux measured from the RBSPICE by comparing with ECT (The Energetic Particle, Composition and Thermal Plasma Suite) data. We found there is a critical proton contamination problem in the electron channels of ~ 1MeV of RBSPICE observations during one moderate storm event of Sym H ~ -76 nT on March 1, 2013.

  • The plasmasphere is filled with the ions and electron transported mostly from the mid-latitude ionosphere. In the topside ionosphere where the $O^+$ ions are still major ions, the $O^+$ ions are in chemical equilibrium with the $H^+$ ions and exchange their charges with each other's parent atoms with similar rates in both reactions. During the day, the newly produced $H^+$ ions flow upward to fill the plasmasphere while they flow downward and contribute to the maintenance of the ionospheric density at night under the geomagnetically quiet condition. The ionosphere and plasmasphere are coupled by these plasma fluxes and therefore strongly affect each other. In order to study these coupling we utilized the plasma density measurements from JASON satellite. This satellite measures vertical total electron content (TEC) from the ground to the satellite orbit (about 1336 km) and slant TEC from the satellite orbit to much higher GPS satellites by using the on-board dual-frequency altimeter and GPS receiver, respectively. The former measurement can represent the ionospheric TEC while the latter can represent the plasmaspheric TEC in the equatorial region. We compared these data with different seasons, solar activities and local times, and the results will be presented.

  • The purpose of this study is to propose the standards for dimension system for unit space of the classroom in elementary school. The curriculum of elementary school has changed. It has been reflected the architectural plan of classroom of the nationwide elementary school. However the Ministry of Education repealed the statue about the facilities of the schools on September in 1997 and the new education curriculum -the 7th curriculum- demands various activities in the classroom. So we need to another size of unit space of the classroom in elementary school because the size of unit space will affect the quality of education. This study represents that the size of unit plan is based on the size of human body, education curriculum, established day, the number limit of classroom and teaching tools. In this study, regression analysis is used to find out a part of the body-size of Korean.

  • In Seowon architecture, there are four kinds of space conditions according to the site plan and the figure of education area. The education area has three main buildings such as Kangdang, Dongjae, Seojae. In case Kangdan locates in front of Dongjae and Seojae(so called Junkangdang-Hoojaesa), but in another case Dongjae and Seojae locates in front of Kangdang(so called Junjaesa-Hookangdang). This four space conditions affect to decide the floor plan and the window & door system of Kangdang. In Junjaesa-Hookangdang type, the front and rear wall has more open system than in Junkangdang-Hoojaesa type. In Junjaesa-Hookangdang type the direction of Kangdang is absolutely open to front education area, but in Junkangdang-Hoojaesa type the direction of Kangdang is absolutely open to rear education area. These floor plan aims at making up education area more closely. In window & door system the rear parts of Junjaesa-Hookangdang type have generally opaque system such as Golpanmoon or Panjangmoon, but Junkangdang-Hoojaesa type breaks this rule in order to emphasize front facade of building.

  • The archival long-slit spectra, covering the wavelength range 4050 ~ 5150 $\AA$, have been used to investigate the radial behavior of absorption line fea-tures (G4300, Fe4383, Ca4455, Fe4531, and $H{\beta}$) of an elliptical galaxy NGC 5846A. The heliocentric recession velocity of NGC 5846 has been derived as $1949{\pm}87\;kms^{-1}$. Fe absorption lines of NGC 5846A show significant radial gradients with the mean slope of $\Delta/Delta(r")=-0.863\pm0.202$. There is also a significant radial gradient of G band with a slope of $-1.109{\pm}0.098$. On the other hand, no radial gradients has been detected on the Ca4455 and $H{\beta}$ absorptions of NGC 5846A. A metallicity gradient, which is derived from the Fe line gradients, is similar to the abundance gradient predicted by Larson's (1975) dissipative models for the formation of elliptical galaxies. We also note that a galaxy-galaxy interaction could affect the line gradients of NGC 5864A.

  • The sidereal day of a Global Positioning System (GPS) satellite was intended to equal one half of a sidereal day of the Earth. However, the sidereal day of GPS satellites has become unequal to one half of a sidereal day of the Earth. This is fundamentally caused by the non-sphericity of the Earth and the gravity of the Moon. The difference between sidereal days of GPS satellites and the Earth is known as a sidereal shift. The details surrounding sidereal shifts and their origins have yet to be fully understood. We calculated the periodicity of sidereal shifts for GPS satellites using broadcast ephemeris data. To conduct a periodic analysis of the sidereal shift, we employ the Lomb-Scargle periodogram method. It shows that the orbit periods of GPS satellites have small-amplitude perturbations with a 13.6-day period. In addition, we compare the GPS satellite orbit periods with the periodicity of geomagnetic indices and the solar wind parameters to identify the cause of the perturbations. Our results suggest that the solar wind stream might also affect the 13.6-day period of the sidereal shifts.

This study represent that the size of unit plan is based on the size of human body, education curriculum, the number limit of classroom and teaching tools. It's generally known that a part of human body size has an invariable proportion with human's status. In this study, regression analysis is used to find out a part of the body-size of Korean. Through this analysis, status, age and weight remarkably relate with a part of human body-size. Then the size of unit plan of the classroom is calculated by the part of body-size and the type of desk arrangement.

  • The night sky in Mongolia is known to be one of the darkest and clearest in Asia. The seasonal dust winds from the Gobi desert, however, might degrade the transparency of the night sky and affect the photometrical quality for astronomical research. In this poster, we present the preliminary results of the first transparency measurement of the night sky in Monglia. The observations are done at Zuunmod located at 25 km south from Ulaanbaatar in 2011 October 26-31. We used a CCD camera (QSI 583s) attached to an 80 mm aperture refractor telescope (William Optics Zentih Star 80 II ED APO). A new supernova, SN2011fe, and a young stellar object, HBC 722, were monitored in order to measure the extinction coefficients. These values in Mongolia are compared with those in other astronomical observatory.

  • The saturation of the actuator impairs the response performance of the near space interceptor control system. A control system based on the properties of linear tracking system is designed for this problem. The properties are that the maximum value of the pseudo-Lyapunov function of the linear tracking control system do not present at the initial state but at the steady state, based on which the bounded stability problem is converted into linear tracking problem. The pseudo-Lyapunov function of the linear tracking system contain the input variables; the amplitude and frequency of the input variables affect the stability of the nonlinear control system. Designate expected closed-loop poles area for different input commands and obtain a controller which is function of input variables. The coupling between variables and linear matrices make the control system design problem non-convex. The non-convex problem is converted into a convex LMI according to the Shur complement lemma and iterative algorithm. Finally the simulation shows that the designed optimal control system is quick and accurate; the rationality of the presented design techniques is validated.
