  • Recently, due to the casualties and property damage caused by disasters, it became important to evacuate the victims to a safe place and come up with a space for them to inhabit for a certain period of time. Therefore, this study aims to design and develop a temporary housing system that would quickly provide a safe and comfortable living space until the displaced persons can return to a normal life again when a disaster occurs. As a result, a system of a BIM-based modular housing, a modular town through automatic placement, and a method to calculate the capacity and the total cost was developed. As this system provides the temporary housing facilities and the site in 3D, it can be utilized as a training material on a normal basis, as well as the first case material for rapid decision making when there is a disaster.

  • The purpose of this paper is to examine the significances of choosing the place of arbitration, the principles of fixing the place, which the major international arbitration institutions(including the ICC, LCIA, AAA, CIETAC and so on) have in their arbitration rules, and the methods of drafting the place of arbitration in arbitration agreements. When the contract parties have agreed on the place of the arbitration, the institutions have no role regarding the selection of the place of arbitration. But the parties have not agreed on the place of arbitration, it is fixed by the rules of selected institution, by considering the lists of criteria including local laws, N.Y. Convention, neutrality, convenience and so on. This author suggested four alternatives on how to designate the place of arbitration, and advantages and disadvantages of each one: the place of claimant, the place of respondent, the place agreed on in advance in Bilateral Agreement between two Arbitration Institutions established in two countries or the third country. In conclusion, the decision of all elements in the international contract is greatly influenced by the power of negotiation, and the place of arbitration in arbitration agreement has a lot of influential significances on both parties when resolving the disputes. So it is advisable for the parties to fix the place according to the global standard(the place of respondent), the arbitration rules of major international arbitration institutes and the result of the negotiation between parties.

  • The objective of this study is review effective business reorganization measures for tackling financial difficulties for financial managers. The major cause of business failure is incompetent management. Business failure occurs when a company is unable to meet its current obligations, or the net worth of the company is negative : usually the signs of business failure are predictable in advance of its actual accurrence. Discriminant analysis as well as other analytical tools - profile analysis, dichotomous analysis, analysis of likelihood ratios - have been used to predict business failure on the basis of various financial ratios , among those, discriminant analysis has been tell known an excellent technique in predicting business failure. The first question to be raised is whether the business is better off, dead or alive. Assuming the decision is made that the firm should survive, reorganization procedure should be considered. The informal procedures of voluntary settlements used in reorganization are extension : composition and liquidation by voluntary agreement. Unless this settlement is possible by those means, the case goes to the courts for 1ega1 solution. If the court decides on reorganization rather than liquidation, it will appoint a trustee to control the firm for reorganization and to prepare a formal plan of reorganization. the plan must meet the stand of fair, equitable and feasible. In that case, the court will approve the plan.

  • Word-of-mouths (WOMs) are now an important information source for purchase decision. Due to the advance in internet technology, people now can share online their consumption experience, both positive and negative, to others. The WOMs may diffuse to not only their friends but also enormous online users. When consumers dissatisfy the product or service, they may share the dissatisfactory experience to others as WOM, which may bring out discussions for the product or service. The discussions on the negative WOM may help to communicate the negative information to enormous others, which may damage the sale of the product or service. The diffusion and life cycle of negative WOM is an important issue for managers. However, few studies focus on it. Thus, the current study focuses on the discussion pattern and life cycle of negative WOMs by observing the 782 discussion articles in a large online community.

  • In this study, we proposed GIS-based Regional Crime Prevention Index (RCPI) development method designed to support local governments with systematic crime prevention activities. The public interest in safe urban environment is increasing rapidly. The government is putting efforts into crime prevention activities to eliminate the criminal opportunities in advance. CPTED is method to prevent crimes in the city by improving environmental factors that cause crime. It is used by local governments to promote the crime prevention activities centering on the expansion of CCTVs and street lamps and the improvement of street environment. However, most policies were terminated as one-off programs and it is necessary to monitor the effect of such policies on a continuous basis. In order to alleviate issues, this study proposed RCPI as part of crime safety assessment in urban environments. The estimation of RCPI in City A of Gyeonggi-do showed relative differences in 31 districts (dong), indicating that it is also possible to evaluate the crime safety in the local community on the level of the administrative dong, the smallest administrative district in the urban environments. As a crime map, the RCPI will be used effectively as he reference to support the decision making process for local government in the future.

  • This study analyzed how mental health affects stress in adolescents. The subjects of the study were data of about 60,000 middle and high school students living in the country, using cross-tabulation data and chi - square test to analyze the relationship between stress and mental health of adolescents. As a result of the research, it was found that the adolescents exposed to the excessive stress showed a poor correlation with the recovery of the fatigue, while the adolescents with relatively low stress showed the good recovery of fatigue. In the case of mental illness, depression or despair, the students who answered that they were stressed showed a lot of experience. In the case of suicide ideation, suicide attempt, and suicide attempt, the number of attempts to commit suicide was high when the level of perceived stress was high similar to the result of previous analysis. This finding confirms that stress is an important factor in the quality of life in adolescent mental health. It can be used as a strategy and business to prevent the problem of youth suicide in modern society in advance by stress management.

  • Arbitration provides quicker resolution and may also limit the erosion of business relationships that is often the result of prolonged litigation. The process of arbitration typically involves four phases: 1) selection of arbitrator(s) and opening statement of positions by the parties; 2) rebuttal of opposing positions; 3) interviews, hearings, and information gathering; and 4) rendering of a decision and issuance of the arbitrator's award. A distinctive feature of arbitration is the party's ability to select the arbitrator and the process and rules that will be followed at the hearing. Once that process has been completed, the parties are in the hands of the arbitrator or tribunal. The arbitrator's duty goes on the arbitration procedure efficiently and renders arbitration award. This article discussed various ways the arbitrator leads to a shorter, less risky arbitration, which benefits the parties. We recommend the arbitrator the following comments; Before the hearing the arbitrator decides to whether an arbitration agreement is valid, and a scope of authorities of him in advance. In the hearing, the arbitrator gives both parties a sufficient opportunity to produce evidence, witnesses, and make their arguments. Lastly, the arbitrator need to be cautious in guiding the parties toward an amicable settlement.

  • The security control can be defined as all control actions and counter-measures to return the operating state of the system to a normal state. In an emergency state, fault clearing and/or overload suppression is enabled as a security control in order to prevent the extension of the fault. In the alert state, counter-measures should be set up in advance for the dangerous points of the system operation in drder to protect the system from expected accidents. In the normal state, the routine scenario is conducted to analyze system state. In the decision-making of the classification of system states, the heuristic and experienced knowledge can be well applied and thus application of expert system to this area attains considerable achievements. In this study, it is attempted to extract empirical rules through heuristic analysis and establish the knowledge base. Finally, the incorporation method with the conventional program packages in proposed. The expert system is designed to select an appropriate method and to perform the corresponding package. The input data can be automatically set up by using the data base. The computation results can be automatically added to the data base.

  • Tactical Information Communication Network(TICN), a concept-type integrated Military Communication system that enables precise command control and decision making, is designed to advance into high speed, large capacity, long distance wireless relay transmission. To support mobility in battlefield environments, the application of Ad-hoc networking technology to its wireless communication has been examined. Ad-hoc network works properly only if the participating nodes cooperate in routing and packet forwarding. However, if selfish nodes not forwarding packets of other nodes and malicious nodes making the false accusation are in the network, it is faced to many threats. Therefore, detection and management of these misbehaving nodes is necessary to make confident in Ad-hoc networks. To solve this problem, we propose an efficient intrusion detection technique to detect and manage those two types of attacks. The simulation-based performance analysis shows that our approach is highly effective and can reliably detect a multitude of misbehaving node.

  • The scientific objectives of PACRIM (Pacific Rim) are to advance the understanding of polarimetric and interferometric radar and to promote its application in environmental research designed to detect and quantify changes found in both the physical and humanly dominated ecosystems on the earth's surface. The information derived is used to more readily identify environments at risk; improve environmental decision making and the management of resources and thereby lead to the implementation of more effective and sustainable land use practices. PACRIM is a collaborative research project was organized by NASA's Mission to Planet Earth, Airborne Sciences Program; the Jet Propulsion Laboratory; CSIRO-COSSA and the Centre for Remote Sensing and GIS at the University of New South Wales. A decade of working with AIRSAR data (1993-2003) in the Australia-Asian-Pacific region has provided the opportunity for more than 400 investigators from 20 countries to collect, analyse, interpret and apply state-of-the-art radar data to earth-science studies. This has been achieved by scientists working within seven broad research themes; o Forestry and vegetation o Geology and tectonic processes o Interferometry o Disaster management o Coastal analysis o Agriculture o Urban and regional development. This paper presents an overview of the three data acquisition missions (1993,1996 and 2000) and the science research outcomes achieved from analyzing high quality radar data.
