The purpose of this study is to analyze the jeans advertising campaigns of the 1990's in South Korean magazine advertisements and their relation to the beauty trends of the 1990's in South Korea. There are three significant and varying periods in the 1990's. Each period will be dissected into four categories. The four categories are 1. Catchphrases 2. Pose selection of the models 3. Selection of models 4. Overall images and themes of the ads. The results are as follows : 1. 1990∼1993 ; Youth & Freedom From 1990 to 1993, jean ads emphasized the catchphrsase and the dynamic pose more and used the Korean model. The ads displayed youthful energy and the freedom of the younger generation. 2. 1994∼1997 ; Sex Appeal From 1994 to 1997, the second transition in jeans advertisements focus shifted from the youthful images of the early 90's to more sexually oriented ads. In terms of model selections and pose, Caucasian models instead of Korean models, and static pose were used more. The ads emphasized the image more than the catchphrase. 3. 1998∼1999 ; Diversity of Individuality & Naturalism During 1998 to the present day, the jeans ads no longer focused on groups but the diversity of individuality. The other focus of ads was the naturalism and the harmony with the nature. Both the static and dynamic pose, Korean model, and the image ads were used.

A small power ADS design using thorium oxide and diluent matrix reprocessed fuel is proposed for a high transmutation rate, small reactivity swing, and strong safety features. Two fuel matrices (CERCER and CERMET) and different recycled fuel compositions recovered from UO₂ spent fuels with 45 GWd/tU and 60 GWd/tU burnup were investigated to determine the suitable fuel for the ADS. It was found that the transmutation of each isotope depends on TRU initial loading amount. After examining the cores, the results show that CERCER fueled ADS has a negative coolant void reactivity (CVR) and a smaller radiotoxicity at discharge compared to that of CERMET core. It implies that CERCER fuel has enhanced safety features and more flavor in terms of radiotoxicity management. To increase fuel utilization and core operation efficiency, a simple assembly shuffling pattern for the CERCER fueled ADS is also proposed. Eigenvalue and burnup calculations were conducted using Serpent 2 with ENDF/B-VII.0 library in both kcode and external source modes, and it indicates that the results of transmutation analyses obtained by kcode only is reliable to discuss the transmutation potential of ADS. Burnup calculation with the fixed-source mode is essential to be used for more practical results of the transmutation by ADS.

This study investigates the developmental pattern of adhesive discs (ADs) to highlight the ontogeny and structural changes that occur during the growth of Boston ivy. Initiation to postmortem features of ADs were examined through light and scanning electron microscopy. The study also reveals a new finding of the dislocation of peripheral tissues of adaxial origin. Four phases of attachment are suggested with regards to its climbing behavior: 1) pre-attachment, 2) upon attachment, 3) after attachment, and 4) final attachment. During initiation, several ADs originate from tendril primordia without epidermal differentiation. However, different growth rates in the epidermis results in completely different ADs. ADs were discerned by size, shape, and color during expansion, but cells in the adaxial surface remained alive longer than the other side. Upon contact, the ADs demonstrate simultaneous growth and deterioration, but once attachment is established the latter process subdues to final stages. Epidermal transformation, adhesive secretion, cellular disruption, and mechanical stress were essential for the self-clinging nature of Boston ivy. The post-attachment sequence is also believed to be critical in achieving maximum mechanical strength to provide extensive support. The developmental process of ADs is prompted by tactile stimulation but in a highly organized and systematic manner.

Background: The role of antidepressants (ADs) in bipolar disorder is long-standing controversial issue in psychiatry. Many clinicians have used ADs as a treatment for bipolar depression, and the selection of therapeutic agents is very diverse and inconsistent. This study aimed to examine recent AD prescription patterns for patients with bipolar disorder in Korea, using the nationwide, population-based data. Methods: This study utilized the Korean nationwide, whole population-based registry data of the year 2010, 2011, and 2013. All prescription data of the ADs, antipsychotics, and mood stabilizers of the sampled patients diagnosed with bipolar disorder (n = 2,022 [in 2010]; 2,038 [in 2011]; 2,626 [in 2013]) were analyzed for each year. Results: Annual prescription rate of ADs was 27.3%-33.6% in bipolar disorder, which was gradually increasing over the 3-year period. The combination pattern of ADs and antipsychotic drugs tended to increase over 3 years. The proportion of females and the prevalence of comorbid anxiety disorder were significantly higher in AD user group in all three years. Among individual ADs, escitalopram was prescribed most frequently, and fluoxetine and bupropion were prescribed to the next many patients. The mean duration of bipolar depressive episodes was 135.90-152.53 days, of which ADs were prescribed for 115.60-121.98 days. Conclusion: Our results show prescription rate of ADs in bipolar disorder was maintained at substantial level and increased in recent 3 years. More empirical data and evidence are needed to establish practical treatment consensuses.

The participants in this study were university students, who are millennials and familiar with various devices and SNS enabling hyper connection, such as smartphones, the Internet, and the Internet of Things. People are sustaining their relationships with others by using the latest technology and cutting-edge devices at will. Some purchases are made at offline stores through online information, but products are checked through offline stores and purchased online. The MZ generation, which does not always have a fixed and constant behavioral response pattern, was considered a participant in this study because the response pattern may vary depending on one's tendency to avoid uncertainty. As a result of experimenting with the MZ generation, similar results were found in all dependent variables. Advertorial and general ads treated as independent variables affected the participants' tendency to avoid uncertainty. In other words, uncertainty avoidance tendency and interaction effect were found as a result of verifying the effects on the dependent variable of ads type. In an advertorial, the group with low uncertainty avoidance tendencies showed higher dependent variable effects than the group with high uncertainty avoidance tendencies; in general ads, uncertainty avoidance tendencies were higher. The higher group showed higher dependent variable effects than the lower group. Therefore, the group with a low tendency to avoid uncertainty has a high level of dependent variable effects in the advertorial, and the group with high uncertainty avoidance tendency performs self-interpretation in general ads.

This study examines the influence of long-range transport of dust particles and air pollutants on both local/regional DMS oxidation chemistry and the distribution of sulfur compounds at Jeju Island (33.17$^{\circ}$ N. 126.10$^{\circ}$ E) during the Asian dust-storm(ADS) period in April 2001. The atmospheric concentrations of these sulfur species were measured at a ground station on Jeju Island. Korea as Part of the ACE-Asia intensive operation. Three ADS events were observed during the periods of 10-12, 13-14. and 25-26 April. respectively. The concentrations of DMS and CS$_2$ were higher during the ADS period than during the non-Asian-dust-storm (NADS) period. Conversely. a difference in SO$_2$ levels during the ADS period was not distinguishable from those during the NADS period. The diurnal variation pattern of DMS observed was largely different from that in the remote marine boundary layer. DMS loss by NO$_3$ in the atmospheric boundary layer was dominant due to significantly high NOx levels influenced by the long-range transport of pollutants from East Asia to Jeju Island The DMS maximum during the ADS period was observed in the late afternoon. The oceanic fluxes of DMS during the ADS and NADS periods were estimated to be 5.7$\pm$2.3 and 2.9 (+2.8/-1.5) mole m$^{-2}$ day$^{-1}$ . respectively. The contribution of oxidized DMS to SO$_2$ levels at Jeju Island during the study period was found to be insignificant.

In 1997, Lavagnino defined four stages of technology trends in libraries; but, he left a question about the fifth stage. Based on literature review, the following; Web technology, open source application, library consortia, digitization, wireless, and social media are the main trends in the fifth stage. Analyzing the job advertisements (ads) dating from 2006 to 2010 in systems librarianship, the analysis showed that there are three patterns. The first pattern is that the title of 'system librarian' is no longer specific to managing only the ILS at many libraries. The second pattern - network management skills - is not highly required in the job ads. And the last pattern - especially academic institutions which have archive or special collection departments - was looking for a systems librarian. In addition, Web technology has evolved as the most required skill according to the advertisements, as well as inter-personal skills in a team environment.

In this paper, PDP driving circuit is designed to show the pattern of still-image with ADS (Address Display Separation) driving method. The designed circuits consist of three stages which are the image processing program, digital logic parts, and power circuits. The Image processing program is designed serial-communication with RS-232C using BASIC language. Digital logic parts design ADS driving signals with Xilinx FPGA and are simulated by ModelSim 5.5f. Power circuits convert output of digital logic parts into high voltage which panel is drived.

This study examines subjects' eye movement pattern and surveys their attitudes to the exposed advertisements on the Facebook. Different from the F-shaped pattern of the typical Web pages, users' eye movements on the Facebook have shown a rough H-shape. Even though a large number of users have shown F-shaped pattern on the ordinary Web pages in order to skip the contents of a Web, subjects' eye-movement pattern on the Facebook has H -shaped pattern due to the unique User Interface (UI) of the Facebook. With the right side and vertical arrangement of ads on the Facebook, users skip the page with having a large H-shaped pattern. In addition, this study set four AOIs(Area of Interest) that are advertising sections comprised on the Facebook Web page and measured fixation length within the AOIs then surveyed subjects' attitudes about the exposed ads. Through the experiment and survey, this study offers the optimum advertising position that can attract Facebook users' attention. As the result of experiment and survey, the second ad has the subjects' highest attitude to advertising and fourth ad is the next effectiveness and first and third ad followed. This study highlights the key implications to provide better user experiences(UX) and marketing strategies to users who are the consumers of companies and organizations which have a plan to put their advertising on the Facebook.

Adenovirus type 5 (Ad5) vectors have been used for gene transfer to a wide variety of cell types in vivo and in vitro. The advantages of adenovirus vectors include the high titer of virus readily obtained in large scale preparations, their ability to transduce dividing and non dividing cells, and the high level of transgene expression. Since adenovirus vectors do not integrate in host cell DNA, there is a lack of insertional mutagenesis. However, many human tumor cells lack expression of the adenovirus 5 receptors and contain areas of hypoxia. In order to identify the pattern of replication and gene expression of oncolytic adenovirus in hypoxic condition, multiple different fiber modified Ads (Ad5F/S11, Ad5F/S35, Ad5F/K7, Ad5F/K21, and Ad5F/RGD) was compared. The replication of all fiber modified adenovirus was inhibited in hypoxic condition in HEK 293 cells, but gene expression has variety on different tumor cell lines and the level of coxackievirus and adenovirus receptor (CAR) expression. These data suggest that CAR expression pattern and hypoxic condition of tumor are considered for optimal oncolytic adenovirus application.
