태권도 옆차기 동작의 인체관절과 분절사이의 협응 과정 (The Process of the Interjoint and Intersegmental Coordination of Side Kick Motion in Taekwondo)

  • 본 연구는 9명의 남자 중학교 초보피험자들을 대상으로 태권도 옆차기 동작의 숙련정도에 따른 운동학적 협응과정을 살펴보는 데 목적을 두었다. 이용된 변인은 최대합성직선속도, 분절간 각속도, 각도 대 각도 도면이었다. 분석결과, 연습후기로 갈수록 인접한 분절간의 운동량 전이가 잘 이루어져 각 분절의 최대합성직선속도가 유의하게 증가하였으며 분절간 각속도에서 학습후기로 갈수록 몸통에서 대퇴, 하퇴분절로의 순차적인 전이를 보였으며 던지는 듯하면서 미는 듯한 동작형태를 보였다. 엉덩관절과 무릎관절의 각도-각도 도면에서는 학습초기에는 다이나믹스한 변화를 보였으나 학습이 됨에 따라 숙련된 피험자처럼 안정적인 협응 패턴을 보여주었다.

  • 센서 어레이로부터 감지된 신호 패턴을 분류함으로써 감지 대상체를 구별하기 위해 본 연구에서는 상태 천이 모델을 이용하는 방법을 제안하였다. 센서 어레이의 신호 데이터를 패턴 모양의 특성을 나타낼 수 있는 상태 천이 모델로 변환하여 감지 대상체의 구별이 보다 정확하게 이루어 질 수 있도록 모델을 설계하는데 초점을 두면서, 모델링 요소인 '상태'는 각도 $(-\frac{\pi}{2},\frac{\pi}{2})$을 n개의 일정한 크기의 구간으로 나누어 각 구간을 하나의 상태로 정의하고, '천이' 관계는 일정한 시간 간격으로 샘플링된 신호 데이터 간의 각도 변화로 각각 정의하여 각도변이 기반 상태천이 모델링을 고안하였으며 모델의 유효성을 실험을 통하여 검증하였다.

Useful MRI Features for Distinguishing Benign Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumors and Myxoid Tumors in the Musculoskeletal System

  • Purpose: To identify the differential MRI findings between myxoid tumors and benign peripheral nerve sheath tumors (BPNSTs) in the musculoskeletal system. Materials and Methods: The study participants included a total of 35 consecutive patients who underwent MRI between September 2011 and December 2013. The patients were pathologically diagnosed with myxoid tumors (22 patients) or BPNSTs (13 patients). Evaluation was done by two radiologists, based on the following characteristics: size, margin, degree of signal intensity (SI) on T2-weighted images (T2WI), homogeneity of SI on T2WI, enhancement pattern, enhancement homogeneity, presence of cystic portion, internal fat component, presence of fat split sign, presence of target sign, presence of continuation with adjacent neurovascular bundle, and presence of surrounding halo. Results: Large size, high SI on T2WI, heterogeneous enhancement, and internal fat component were commonly observed in myxoid tumors, while homogenous enhancement, fat split sign, target sign were common in BPNSTs. The differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Other findings, such as margin, homogeneity of SI on T2WI, enhancement pattern (peripheral or solid), internal cystic portion, continuation with neurovascular bundle, and surrounding halo, did not show significant difference between myxoid tumors and BPNSTs (P > 0.05). Conclusion: In the differential diagnosis of myxoid tumors and BPNSTs involving the musculoskeletal system, several MRI findings such as degree of SI on T2WI, enhancement homogeneity, internal fat component, fat split sign, and target sign, may be helpful in establishing the diagnosis.

Epiphytic macrolichens in Seoul: 35 years after the first lichen study in Korea

  • Many lichens have been used as bioindicators for air pollutants such as $SO_2$. The first ecological study on lichens in Korea was conducted in 1975 by Kim and Lee, disclosing that areas adjacent to the center of Seoul were lichen deserts. Air quality in Seoul has improved significantly since the 1980s. However, the distribution of lichen species has not been reevaluated since then. We examined the spatial and temporal pattern of lichen distribution by selecting six (inner city green [ICG] and four (outer city green [OCG]) sites, based on the distance from the city center of Seoul and the land use pattern. The change in lichen distribution was related to yearly mean concentrations of $SO_2$, $NO_2$, and $O_3$ for the years 1980-2009. Four and 13 lichen species were found in ICGs and OCGs, respectively. Although mean sample numbers per species were much higher in the former, species richness tended to increase with distance from the city center. Since 1980, $SO_2$ has declined drastically to < 0.01 ppm in both ICGs and OCGs, indicating that $SO_2$ is no longer a limiting factor for lichen establishment and growth. In contrast, $NO_2$ has increased steadily for 20 years (1989-2009) and a considerable proportion of lichen species in both ICGs and OCGs are known as nitrophilic or pollution-tolerant species. Appearance of nitrophiles in both ICGs and OCGs and the dominance of a few lichen species in ICGs may reflect the effects of the increase in $NO_2$. In contrast to $SO_2$ and $NO_2$, $O_3$ was higher in OCGs, but it was difficult to identify a causal relationship between $O_3$ and lichen distribution.

  • 도시지역의 토지는 주변여건에 의해 그 입지적 특성이 달리 나타나고 있다. 입지적 특성은 지가 및 임대료의 차이를 발생시켰으며 이로 인해 건물에 입지하는 시설의 종류 및 규모의 차이가 발생하게 된다. 이러한 입지의 분화는 입지특성에 의해 단순히 평면적으로만 나타나는 것이 아니라 수직적 접근성에 의해 충별 분화도 나타나게 된다. 이와 같이 각각의 시설들의 입지적 특성은 단순히 지가나 임대료 둥의 경제적 특성만이 아니라 입지요소간의 상호작용 또는 시설간의 보완 및 상충작용으로 인해 발생하는 것이다. 본 연구는 현재 주거지내로 상업시설이 활발하게 확산되고 있으며 입지요소 및 시설간의 상호작용으로 그 변화가 빈번하게 일어나고 있는 압구정동 지역을 대상으로 지역의 특수성을 밝히고 시설의 입지에 영향을 미치는 요소들간의 영향력과 시설들간의 상호관계를 살펴봄으로써 상업시설의 입지특성과 상호간의 관계성을 정립하고자 하였다. 상업시설 입지에 영향을 미치는 많은 요인들과 관련된 방대한 자료를 상업시설의 입지특성분석에 효율적으로 이용하기 위해 코드체계화 하였으며 이를 ARC/INFO를 통해 분석함으로써 보다 정확한 분석을 수행할 수 있도록 하였다.

교정용 호선에 악간 교정력 적용시 악안면골의 초기반응에 관한 Holographic Interferometry 연구 (A STUDY OF HOLOGRAPHIC INTERFEROMETRY ON THE INITIAL REACTION OF MAXILLOFACIAL COMPLEX TO THE INTERMAXILLARY FORCES ON THE ORTHODONTIC ARCHWIRES)

  • This study was performed to evaluate the initial reaction of maxillofacial complex to the Class II intermaxillary and the anterior vertical elastic forces on the six types of archwires including multiloop edgewise arch wires(MEAW). A human dry skull was used for this purpose and this investigation was done by holographic interferometry. Based on such investigation, the fringe pattern and the number of fringes of each condition were compared and analyzed. The findings of this study were as follows: 1. As the orthodontic forces increased, the amount of displacement increased. 2. As the orthodontic forces were applied, the fringes were shown not only in the teeth and the maxilla but also in the adjacent bones, i.e., temporal bone, zygomatic bone, nasal bone, frontal bone and sphenoid bone. And the direction of fringe pattern and the number of fringes were different from each other by the sutures. 3. As the long Class II elastic forces were applied, the backward-downward displacements of the anterior teeth and the maxilla were shown, and backward displacement of the former were grater than those of the latter. And backward displacements were greater by the long Class II elastic forces than by the short Class II elastic forces. 4. As the anterior vertical elastic forces were applied, downward displacements of the anterior teeth and the maxilla were shown, and the downward displacements of the former were greater than those of the latter relatively. 5. The downward displacements of the anterior area to the anterior vertical elastic forces of the MEAW were greater than those of other archwires. In addition, the more tip-back bend was applied, the more displacement was seen. 6. As the Class II intermaxillary forces and the enough anterior vertical elastic forces were applied on the MEAW with tip-back bend, there was an intrusive effect of the posterior teeth.

치과용 콘빔 CT를 이용한 상악 정중과잉치의 3차원 분석 (Three dimensional evaluation of impacted mesiodens using dental cone beam CT)

  • Purpose : This study was performed to analyze the position, pattern of impacted mesiodens, and their relationship to the adjacent teeth using Dental cone-beam CT. Materials and Methods : Sixty-two dental cone-beam CT images with 81 impacted mesiodenses were selected from about 2,298 cone-beam CT images at Chonnam National University Dental Hospital from June 2006 to March 2009. The position, pattern, shape of impacted mesiodenses and their complications were analyzed in cone-beam CT including 3D images. Results : The sex ratio (M : F) was 2.9 : 1. Most of the mesiodenses (87.7%) were located at palatal side to the incisors. 79% of the mesiodenses were conical in shape. 60.5% of the mesiodenses were inverted, 21% normal erupting direction, and 18.5% transverse direction. The complications due to the presence of mesiodenses were none in 43.5%, diastema in 19.4%, tooth displacement in 17.7%, delayed eruption or impaction in 12.9%, tooth rotation in 4.8%, and dentigerous cyst in 1.7%. Conclusions : Dental cone-beam CT images with 3D provided 3-dimensional perception of mesiodens to the neighboring teeth. This results would be helpful for management of the impacted mesiodens.

터널 발파설계 최적화를 위한 실험 및 수치해석적 접근 (Experimental and Numerical Approach foy Optimization of Tunnel Blast Design)

  • 화약폭발로 발생한 응력파 전파특성을 파악하기 위하여 화약종류, 장약조건, 전파매질조건 별로 실내 모형시험 및 현장 암반시험과 수치해석을 시행하였다. 수치해석은 시험조건과 동일한 조건을 모델링하여 시행하였다. 2공을 동시 발파하는 경우에 2공 중심에서 응력크기는 1공 발파보다 2배정도로 증가되었다. 최대응력 도달시간은 디커플링장전조건이 밀장전조건보다 2배정도 지연되어서 가스압력에 의해 최대 응력이 발생하였다. 시험결과와 수치해석결과를 비교.분석한 결과 수치해석결과가 시험결과보다 약간 저평가되었지만 비교적 유사하여 수치해석으로 발파결과를 미리 예측할 수 있었다. 도로터널의 일반적인 발파패턴도에 대하여 수치해석을 시행하고 외곽공과 외곽공과 인접한 확대공 발파로 인하여 발생하는 동적 암반거동 및 암반손상을 평가하였다. 수치해석결과 확대공의 손상영역이 외곽공보다 크게 나타났다. 확대공 손상영역을 감소시키기 위하여 낮은 밀도의 화약사용, 디커플링장전, 확대공과 외곽공사이의 거리 증가 등의 방안을 제안하였다.

대구시 편의점의 공간확산과 입지적 특성 (The Spatial Diffusion and Locational Characteristics of Convenience Stores in Daegu)

  • 본 연구는 대구시에서 1990년대에 급속하게 증가한 편의점의 공간확산과 입지적 특성을 고찰하였다. 대구의 편의점은 1992년에 도심 또는 중심업무지구(CBD)에 인접한 점이지대에 처음 도입된 후, 도심과 주거지역으로 확산돼 갔지만, 일정한 구매수요가 발생하는 곳을 중심으로 확산되어 갔다. 그 결과, 대구시 편의점의 공간분포는 고등학교 밀집지역, 상업지역, 아파트지역 등에 특히 집중분포하는 매우 불균등한 분포패턴을 보이고 있다. 이러한 분포는 편의점의 주요한 두 가지 입지요인에서 비롯된 것으로 보인다. 일차적으로는 편의점의 입지가 편의점을 자주 이용하는 인구집단 즉, 그 수요인구의 분포 요인에 가장 영향을 받고, 이차적으로는 그 수요인구가 접근하기 쉬운 도로교통의 접근성 요인에 의해 입지하기 때문이다.

Oncogenic Activation of Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptor-3 and RAS Genes as Non-Overlapping Mutual Exclusive Events in Urinary Bladder Cancer

  • Background: Urinary bladder cancer is a common malignancy in the West and ranks as the $7^{th}$ most common cancer in our region of Kashmir, India. FGFR3 mutations are frequent in superficial urothelial carcinoma (UC) differing from the RAS gene mutational pattern. The aim of this study was to analyze the frequency and association of FGFR3 and RAS gene mutations in UC cases. Materials and Methods: Paired tumor and adjacent normal tissue specimens of 65 consecutive UC patients were examined. DNA preparations were evaluated for the occurrence of FGFR3 and RAS gene mutations by PCR-SCCP and DNA sequencing. Results: Somatic point mutations of FGFR3 were identified in 32.3% (21 of 65). The pattern and distribution were significantly associated with low grade/stage (p<0.05). The overall mutations in exon 1 and 2 in all the forms of RAS genes aggregated to 21.5% and showed no association with any clinic-pathological parameters. In total, 53.8% (35 of 65) of the tumors studied had mutations in either a RAS or FGFR3 gene, but these were totally mutually exclusive in and none of the samples showed both the mutational events in mutually exclusive RAS and FGFR3. Conclusions: We conclude that RAS and FGFR3 mutations in UC are mutually exclusive and non-overlapping events which reflect activation of oncogenic pathways through different elements.
