  • PV(Photovoltaic) system is environmentally friendly power system using solar energy in renewable energy. PV system compared to other renewable energy power generation systems is relatively easy to install, so the dissemination is increasing worldwide. Especially, BIPV(Building Integrated Photovoltaic) is a system that PV modules are installed on the building and use renewable energy. But this system is difficult to apply due to the shadow of adjacent buildings and limited installation. In this study, payback period is calculated by Retscreen 2010, that is an economic assessment software of renewable energy, on applied to the bridge of PV system. As results, this study aims at actively considering the application.

  • Very stiff floor system in a residential-commercial building causes some problems in the numerical analysis procedure due to significant difference in stiffness with adjacent structural elements. Static analysis of structure with a stiff transfer-floor can be peformed approximately in two steps for upper and lower pons for the structure. However, it is impossible to perform dynamic analysis in two steps with separate models. An efficient method for dynamic analysis of a structure with a rigid floor system is proposed in this study. The matrix condensation technique is employed to reduce the degree of freedom for upper and lower parts of the structure and a beam elements with rigid bodies of both ends are introduce to model the rigid floor system. Efficiency end accuracy of the proposed method ore verified through analysis of several example structures.

  • In multi-story buildings, heavy-weight floor impact noise propagates through multiple layers. In order to evaluate the influence of structural vibration and propagation, the actual twelve-story building was excited by an impact ball. Sound and vibration responses of each floor was measured using accelerometers and a microphone. Vibration characteristics and its transfer paths were different depending on the excitation floor locations due to differences in the structural characteristics. From the measurement result, transfer characteristics were quantified by statistical energy analysis. It was confirmed that the heavy-weight floor impact noise influence not only adjacent floor. The impact noise transferred and affected multiple layers.

A model of roof-top surface pressures produced by conical vortices : Evaluation and implications

  • The greatest suction on the cladding of flat roof low-rise buildings is known to occur beneath the conical vortices that form along the roof edges for cornering winds. In a companion paper, a model of the vortex flow mechanism has been developed which can be used to connect the surface pressure beneath the vortex to adjacent flow conditions. The flow model is experimentally validated in this paper using simultaneous velocity and surface pressure measurement on a 1 : 50 model of the Texas Tech University experimental building in a wind tunnel simulated atmospheric boundary layer. Flow visualization gives further insight into the nature of peak suction events. The flow model is shown to account for the increase in suction towards the roof corner as well as the presence of the highest suction at wind angles of $60^{\circ}$. It includes a parameter describing vortex suction strength, which is shown to be related to the nature of the reattachment, and also suggests how different components of upstream turbulence could influence the surface pressure.

  • Atrium buildings are commonly found in Hong Kong since 1980. Those spaces are usually crowded with people and so fire protection systems have to be installed for providing a safe environment. Smoke control system was identified to be important but no clear design guidelines are available because the smoke filling process was not well-understood. In this paper., Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD) or fire field model is applied to study the smoke filling pattern in atrium. Two common cases on smoke spreading out from a shop adjacent to the atrium; and with a fire located at the atrium floor itself were considered. Simulations with a modified form of the CFD package TEAM were performed. Application of the predicted results Is illustrated.

Wind Environment Assessment around High-Rise Buildings through Wind Tunnel Test and Computational Fluid Dynamics

  • High-rise buildings constructed adjacent to low-rise structures experience frequent damage caused by the associated strong wind. This study aimed to implement a standard evaluation of the wind environment and airflow characteristics around high-rise apartment blocks using wind tunnel tests (WTT) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations. The correlation coefficient between the CFD and wind tunnel results ranged between 0.6-0.8. Correlations below 0.8 were due to differences in the wake flow area range generated behind the target building according to wind direction angle and the effect of the surrounding buildings. In addition, a difference was observed between the average velocity ratio of the wake flow wind measured by the WTT and by the CFD analysis. The wind velocity values of the CFD analysis were therefore compensated, and, consequently, the correlations for most wind angles increased.

  • In this study, the classification, particle size, physical properties, and harmful substance contents of aggregates were compared in the standards between Korea and China. As a result of the analysis, although Korea and China are geographically adjacent from a global perspective, there are many differences in standards. In other words, it is analyzed that the standard was set due to the influence of the United States and Japan in Korea, while the standard was set due to the influence of Europe and Russia in China.

  • Recently, structural damage and defect has occurred in the H-beam backfill installation part of Top-Down construction method. In order to secure structural safety and usability in the adjacent section of the backfilling method, It turns out that it is necessary to analyze by dividing into various cases. The H-beam backfill installation section is divided into the case of adding a vertical plate inside the slab, adding a shear stud, adding a reinforcing bar, changing the thickness of the pressure plate, and filling the H-beam backfill with mortar. Ansys modeling was performed and an appropriate solution was suggested by analysis.

도심지 흙막이 굴착시 인접구조물의 손상 평가연구 (The Evaluation of Damage Behaviour of Adjacent Structures in Urban Excavation)

  • 흙막이 지반굴착시 인접 구조물의 손상메카니즘을 규명하기 위하여 1.844m(길이)$\times$0.6m(높이)인 모형조적벽체를 실제의 1/10의 스케일로 모형화하였다. Peck(1969) 및 O'Rourke등(1976)이 제안한 지반침하량이 6단계에 걸쳐 모형실험에 적용되었다. Peck(1969)과 O'Rourke등(1976)의 방법을 적용한 모형실험결과, O'Rourke등(1976)에 의한 조적벽체의 각변위는 Peck(1969)의 각변위에 비해 21% 크게 나타났으며, 수평변위 또한 Peck(1969)에 의한 값보다 24% 크게 나타났다. O'Rourke등(1976)의 침하량이 적용된 경우의 건물손상 정도를 손상도표(Boscardin & Cording,1989)에 적용한 결과 Peck(1969) 방법에 의해 얻은 손상수준에 비해 보다 심각한 손상수준의 결과가 나타났다. 또한, 구조물의 강성 및 구조물과 지반의 interface 가 구조물 손상평가시 중요한 인자로써 고려되어야 함을 확인할 수 있었다.

개별건축물 데이터를 활용한 대구광역시 빈집 발생의 공간적 분포 및 발생요인 분석 (Spatial Pattern and Causative Factor Analysis of Vacant Housing in Daegu, South Korea Using Individual-level Building DB)

  • 본 연구는 개별 건축물 데이터를 활용하여 대구광역시의 빈집 발생의 공간패턴과 발생요인을 분석하였다. 핫스팟 분석을 통해 빈집 발생의 공간패턴을 분석한 결과, 대구광역시 도심을 중심으로 도넛형태의 빈집밀집 구역이 존재하고 있음을 확인하였다. 로지스틱 회귀분석을 통한 빈집의 발생요인 분석은 개별 건축물의 물리적 특성과 지역의 사회 경제적 특성을 함께 고려하여 분석하였다. 빈집의 발생요인 분석 결과, 개별 건축물의 물리적 특성 중에는 건물면적, 층수, 노후도가 빈집 발생에 유의미한 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 빈집은 건물면적이 작을수록, 층수는 낮을수록, 건축연식이 오래될수록 발생확률이 높았다. 지역특성 측면에서는 정비구역 내 입지 유무, 최근 5년간 인구성장률, 노인인구 비율과 더불어 인접빈집수가 중요한 변수로 파악되었다. 빈집의 발생확률은 정비구역 내에 위치할수록, 지역의 인구성장률이 낮을수록, 노인인구의 비율이 낮을수록 증가하는 것으로 나타났으며, 특히 인접빈집수가 많을수록 빈집 발생 확률도 높게 나타나 빈집 발생에 공간적 연관성이 존재함을 실증적으로 보여준다.
