Internet telephony provides voice communication services with added flexibility for multimedia extension at a lower cost compared to traditional telephone systems. We implemented an internet telephony system as an overlay network without a centralized server, using a distributed hash table (DHT). Compared to the current server-based internet telephony system, our system is fault-tolerant, scalable, and can be flexible extended to various services and advanced to integrated service. To demonstrate the high flexibility of our DHT-based internet telephony system, we made our system cooperate with web servers. Web users can check up others' online stales and establish voice communication sessions to online users at a mouse click. This technology can be applied to more complex services such as multimedia messaging or video conference service.

This paper analyses the results of a survey questionnaire which is made for logistics service providers in Shanghai, China. Based on 177 valid providers' responses, the study results show that the logistics industry of China consists mainly of small and medium-sized companies. Furthermore, most of the logistics companies are highly capable of providing traditional logistics services and lack of the capability to provide other value-added logistics services. Their self-assessments indicate that they generally perform well in different types of performance measures. This study indicates that the market for 3PL services in China has a reasonable potential for further development, though 3PL practices are still at a nascent stage in China. This paper presents full details and implications of the results of the survey and then tries to provide some helpful suggestion for the development of Chinese logistics companies.

Unlike physical goods, service consists of a chain of activities that allow the service to function effectively. In order to enhance customer experiences, service providers should innovate service processes. Service innovation refers to new or considerably changed service processes that deliver added value to the customers. Unfortunately, many of the activities are invisible to both service providers and consumers. In terms of service innovation, service visualization is very critical. When we visualize the current service process, we can identify its problems. This study suggests service blueprinting as a service innovation methodology. In order to demonstrate the usage of the methodology, this study examines departure/arrival services at the airport.

Responding to the growing trend toward information society through digitalization of relating tools, a specialized information center is called for the change in its role. It must create the more value-added service for customers by menas of combination of various digital media with communication network, domestic and foreign. This study analyzes the theoretical framework and concrete examples of digital information services in special information center pursuing user-centered service. To make an efficient execution of user-centered information service, the effort is needed to develop and enlarge digital information services improving the level of service.

A business consulting service combines company's knowledge and information with external's ones systematically. This combination achieve knowledge synergy and make added value for the business as a whole. Therefore, a business consulting service has been called Knowledge Ware Industry. Consulting corporations and consultants must provide valuable services for running and growing their business successfully. A value of business consulting service could be identified offset quality and benefits from costs. This study conducted survey about business consulting service quality by SERVPERF model and benefit, customer commitment. The research result showed that the quality of business consulting service effects on the benefit positively and benefit increased customer commitment. Finally, there is positive relationship between customer commitment and intention of continuing of the business consulting service.

The rapid growth of Korean SI(System Integration) Industries have established the largest marketplace in Korean software markets. It is the high value added industry, which is knowledge-centered and technology-intensive. Korean SI industries are going on participating the global market as well as the foreign high technical services are introduced to Korea by WTO's contracts. In this thesis, we analysis Korean SI industries present state and characteristics, futhermore suggest the plan to expand the SI industries of Korea in the global competitive market.

The service composition based on Service-Oriented Architecture(SOA) can make us view various machines or its functionalities in the Web or Internet-of-Things environment as 'service', and efficiently create new value-added services that users want by compositing different services if there is no service to satisfy the client. The service composition problem with respect to behavioral descriptions deals with the automatic synthesis of a coordinator service that controls a set of services to reach a goal state. Despite its importance, however, solving the service composition problem with only partial observations remains to be doubly exponential in the number of variables in service descriptions, rendering any attempts to compute an exact solution for modest size impractical. Toward this challenge, in this paper, we propose novel approximation-based approaches using abstraction methods. We empirically validate that our proposals can solve realistic problems efficiently.

Airport is shifted airport 1.0 to airport 4.0 called smart airport and services paradigm is changed into direction to point the customer targeted benefits. Smart airports make use of integrated Internet of Things components to provide added-value services. By integrating smart components, airports are being exposed to a larger attack surface and new attack vectors. Self-services such as web or mobile check-in, self check-in/tagging/back drop/boarding, etc. should be strengthened to make airport processes smarter, and technologies such as automatic immigration, smart security search, and automatic AI-based baggage search should be applied. In this paper, we describe the necessity and importance of smart airports and next generation security screening technology. Further, we describe a walk through-type smart security screening system.

This study aims to suggest the ways of integrated services for Cultural Heritage Archives that belong to the Cultural Heritage Administration. To this end, the study analyzed the archives of major affiliated organizations of the Cultural Heritage Administration that manage and preserve Korean cultural assets. A cultural asset metadata based on the multiple entity model and applicable data link model standard was suggested for the integrated service of high-value-added cultural heritage information resources.

Internet of things (IoT) is based on a global dynamic information network with cloud services where a great number of devices (things) exchange data to provide added-value services and products. There are several commercial and open source IoT platforms available in the market to connect devices to internet; however, they have cost and operational constraints that make them not suitable for academic projects. In this work, an IoT platform, known as Novus-io, is introduced in order to support academic projects for undergraduate students. With this platform and proper training, undergraduate students from different majors (not only from information technology and electronics) are capable to upgrade their school projects with IoT functionalities. The objective of this approach is to provide to any undergraduate student skills and knowledge on IoT, so they will be prepared, in their imminent step toward professionalism, to understand the relevance of digital services in today's world.
