  • This paper analyzes, through simulations, GNSS interference mitigation performance against wideband and narrowband interferences by using spatial-temporal adaptive processing(STAP). The mathematical analysis results demonstrate that the array configuration has a considerable effect on the spatial-temporal correlation function. Based on the results, different array configurations are presented to evaluate and observe the effect on interference mitigation. The analysis results are further assessed through simulations.

  • In this paper, we study the method for desired signals estimation that array antennas are received signals. We apply sub spatial method of direction of arrival algorithm and adaptive array antennas in order to remove interference and noise signal of received antenna signals. Array response vector of adaptive array antenna is probability, it is correctly estimation of direction of arrival of targets to update weight signal. Desired signals are estimated updating covariance matrix after moving interference and noise signals among received signals. We estimate signals using eigen decomposition and eigen value, high resolution direction of arrival estimation algorithm is devided signal sub spatial and noise sub spatial. Though simulation, we analyze to compare proposed method with general method.

  • An adaptive nulling technique is presented to synthetically overcome the integrated problems associated with the conventional LMS array in the performances of jammer rejection, convergence rate, misadjustment, and reference signal generation. The proposed method is to remove the target signal from the array input and to eliminate the reference signal prior to minimization processing. The algorithm is constrained to the residue noise level in adaptive processor. Analysis shows effectiveness of the algorithm for coherent and/or incoherent interference rejection, wide dynamic range of convergence factor, rapid adaptation rate, and small mean square error. Simulation results confirm the theoretical prediction.

  • A new concept of adaptive focusing, using a Rotman lens, is presented in this paper. A Rotman lens is a microwave lens which is able to focus microwave power on its focal arc or generate multiple beams. By adding the array of phase shifters between a Rotman lens and antenna elements, the wavefront can be adaptively modulated to focus objects distributed in short range rather than far-field zone. From the optical point of view, the propagations of the lens have been simplified from the Fresnel diffraction integral to the Fourier transform. Using Fourier Transform, a beam propagation method has been developed to show improvement of the resolution by controlling wavefront of wave propagating from an aperture-type antenna array. The beam width(or spot size) and intensity have been calculated for a focused beam propagating from an array having $10{\lambda}$ of its size. For the beam with $20{\lambda},\;30{\lambda}$, and $50{\lambda}$ of geometrical focal length, the half-power beamwidth (spot size) is about $1.1{\lambda},\;1.3{\lambda}$, and $1.9{\lambda}$, respectively.

  • In this paper, a new technique and cost function which can be to classify jamming signal and target signal from the spectral distribution of received signal in order to minimize the main beam distortion of target signal and to form nulls in the direction of jamming signal in array antennas of single port system is proposed. The proposed cost function is applied to the adaptive algorithm which has the fast convergence and stable nulling performance through the combination of the PSO(Particle Swam Optimization) algorithm and the gradient-based perturbation algorithm, which shows stable nulling performance adaptively even under the moving jamming signal where the incident direction of the jamming signal is changing with time.

  • An improved genetic algorithm was proposed for pattern synthesis of an adaptive beam forming system using phased array antennas. The proposed genetic algorithm is an algorithm that adds acquired characteristics procedure to solve local optimization using the diversity. The performance of the proposed genetic algorithm is verified through the problem of finding a suitable chromosome for a picture composed of binary. And it is confirmed that it is suitable for the adaptive beam forming system based on the performance problem of combining main beam and two pattern nulls.

  • Adaptive array antenna system estimates target signal, as making a null pattern toward the interference signal. However, receiving a coherent interference signal at adaptive array antenna system, as target signal is regarded as interference signal, the performance of system rapidly decreases. The main beam does not direct an incidence direction of target signal due to sensitivity in directivity error. This paper proposes beamforming algorithm which combines high order limit condition and directivity error modify method. And it minimizes degree of freedom and decreases interference signal and directivity error using proposed algorithm. This paper compares and analyzes the performance of proposed algorithm and general algorithm using simulation. In this paper, the proposed algorithm correctly estimates an incident angle, but general algorithm occurs an error of about $0.8^{\circ}$.

  • This paper describes a K-band microstrip patch antenna suitable for an adaptive cruise control(ACC) system. The presented transmitting and receiving patch antennas are designed with $1{\times}2$ array. The antennas are simulated using CST MWS and manufactured using RO-4003(h=0.5mm, ${\epsilon}r=3.38$). The antennas are installed on the backside of the sensor circuit and measured. The estimated gain and beamwidth are 8.5dBi and about $50^{\circ}$ respectively. The measured bandwidth is about 1GHz($VSWR{\le}2$) which satisfies the desired specification.

  • The potential ability of the Applebaum type adaptive array to suppress the multipath signals is examined. The output Signal-to-Noise Ratio is expressed in terms of (1) the input SNR. (2) relative multipath signal amplitude, and (3) ambient noise when a multipath component is present Computer simulation is done on several performance measures to learn that the performance of the array depends upon the magnitude and the phase of the correlation coefficient. It is also shown that the performance is maximized when the phase of the correlation coefficient is zero degree.

  • This paper presents an experimenal proof for criteria of selecting an optimum adaptive beamforming (ABF) algorithm for a large distorted phased array. A single point target embedded in clutter model is suggested to compare four well-known ABF algorithms. These algorithms are tested to low variance and high variance real data for self-calibrating a large distored phased array. It is shown that these algorithms require at least one dominant scatterer with large radar cross section (RCS) or multiple scatterers with moderate RCS in the field of view. Experimental results are provided to demonstrate the comparisons of the four algorithems in terms of gain loss and image correlaion coefficient, along with corresponding reconstructed cross-range images and range-azimuth images.
