Foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) is a highly contagious disease of mammals and has a great potential for causing severe economic loss in susceptible cloven-hoofed animals, such as cattle, pigs, sheep, goats and buffalo. FMDV, a member of the Aphthovirus genus in the Picornaviridae family, is a non-enveloped icosahedral virus that contains a positive sense RNA of about 8.2 kb in size. The genome carries one open reading frame consisting of 3 regions: capsid protein coding region P1, replication related protein coding region P2, and RNA-dependent RNA polymerase coding region P3. FMDV infects pharynx epithelial cell in the respiratory tract and viral replication is active in lung epithelial cell. Morbidity is extremely high. A FMD outbreak in Korea in 2002 caused severe economic loss. Although intense research is undergoing to develop appropriate drugs to treat FMDV infection, there is no specific therapeutic for controlling FMDV infection. Moreover, there is an increasing demand for the development of vaccine strategies against FMDV infection in many countries. In this report, more effective prevention strategies against FMDV infection were reviewed.

We have web-based online discussion to implement active interaction and a variety of communicative activities. I have gathered the following research questions to study about the meaning of web-based online discussion as a mathematical communication teaching method. First, what changes are there in students mathematical communication ability in web-based online discussion\ulcorner Second, how do students evaluate the web-based online discussion experience\ulcorner In this web-based online discussion, groups of middle school first grade 34 students and each group had chatting at 8 times for 10 weeks. I analyzed what they had discussed by the prints that they had sent me by e-mail. I also surveyed what they had experienced and analyzed them. In this research, the online web based discussion has given positive influence on students' competence of speaking, writing, reading and listening which are crucial to mathematical communication. Students' mathematic thinking power improved and attitudes to mathematics have become more positive.

Purpose : The purpose of this article is to make a clarification that Hwang Doyeon(黃度淵) was a official doctor(醫官) who even served as royal doctor(御醫), rather than merely a general doctor who worked in the private sector. The article also attempts to give a new perspective on the medical history about the late period of Joseon(朝鮮) Dynasty. Methods : In researching Hwang Doyeon's master work, the Gains and Losses of Medical Orthodoxy(醫宗損益), the article looks at his clinical medicines. Analyzing the historical records, the article makes an assumption that Hwang Doyeon and Hwang Dosoon(黃道淳), who was selected as an officer to discuss medicine with other medical officers(議藥同參), are the identical person. On this assumption, the article tries to reinterpret the medicine during the later Joseon Dynasty period. Result & Conclusion : The records, including the royal medical treatment records of the Gains and Losses of Medical Orthodoxy, the Daily Records of Royal Secretariat(承政院日記), the genealogy of Changwon Hwangs(昌原黃氏世譜), academic paper and government documents released posthumously, demonstrated that Hwang Doyeon and Hwang Dosoon are the same person. If so, we can have new historical interpretation about medical history of late Joseon Dynasty. First, during the late of Joseon Dynasty, there was an official and active medical knowledge interaction between government and private sector. Second, the Joseon's medicine has been established its own medical system based on the Treasured Mirror of Eastern Medicine(東醫寶鑑), trying to cope with cholera and other contemporary epidemics without relying on Chinese warm disease(溫病) medicine. Third, the Compilation of Formulas and Medicinals(方藥合編), is regarded not only as a must-read medical reading for medical doctors, also playing an important role on popularization of Korean medical knowledge.

Structures like bridges or buildings need to be checked continuously to diagnose their safety. However, it is extremely difficult for the people who access such structures to check all areas directly. To overcome this problem, there is a lot of active research into structural health monitoring (SHM) with wireless sensor nodes (WSNs). In this paper, for more accurate checking of SHM with WSNs, we experimentally compare and evaluate the performance of Xenomai, which provides real-time processing under the traditional Linux kernel. For this purpose, we patch Xenomai into the traditional Linux kernel of a commercial embedded board, Raspberry Pi, and implement a task that periodically reads vibration data of the z-axis from an accelerometer in order to analyze the natural frequency of cantilever beams. Reading the data from the traditional Linux kernel with the same method, we analyze the natural frequency of the cantilever beams using Smart Office Analyzer. Finally, to review the validity of Xenomai for WSNs, we obtain vibration data on the z-axis from the accelerometer via wired network and compared and analyzed them the same way.

Recently, as user feedback such as social reading become active, demand has been increased on e-book contents making which is based on user feedback. However, to reflect the user feedback onto the e-book, direct coding is required, which was difficult to the author who was not good at programming. To resolve this problem, Block assembly style feedback editor system, using Blockly was developed. This editor enables to reflect the user feedback by area allocation, component allocation, block editing, and code generating insertion, contrary to the existing way of programming realization in which direct coding was required for input, processing and output separately. This system was developed by using HTML. Javascript, PHP, and Codeigniter. Block editing is enabled to do provision and assembly of blocks by Blockly. The function of code generation & insertion allows to insert the Library function code. Through this system, the general users who are not capable of coding also can reflect feedback without doing actual coding.

The purpose of this study is to look into nurse's legal duty and to analyze influencing factors, by reading through precedents in nursing-related malpractice cases. 157 clinic nurses and 40 head nurses who were working in 3 university hospitals in the area of Seoul and KyongKi province were surveyed with pre-set questionnaires which were based on 20 cases and to compare precedents with nurses' attitudes. Independent variables were demographic characteristics, job characteristics, experience and education, and personal characteristics. Dependent variables were the extents of understanding in their duty. To analyze the extent of duty understanding t-text. ANOVA, and multiple regression were performed according to the characteristics of each study subject. Main findings are as follows; 1. $X^2$ test was performed for each hospitals and job category. The existence of religion and job-related advisers were significantly different according to hospitals and job categories. The existences of the orientation for nursing, education, and meeting were significantly different according to hospitals. 2. The extent of duty understanding according to the subject characteristics was assessed by means of median. Each case was given the median. 12 cases(46%)out of 26 cases demonstrated the median of more than 6 showing high extent of understanding. 3. When $X^2$ test was performed. the extent of duty understanding was significantly different in the areas of marriage status. the existence of meetings. and the experience of having dispute. When multiple regression(stepwise method) was performed, above variables were not statistically significant. 4.As result of comparative analysis on precedents and nurse's attitudes. it is 4 cases that nurse's attitudes is more active than precedents and it is 9 cases that nurse's attitudes is more passive than precedents and it is 4 cases that nurse's attitudes is parallel with precedents. This study does not present statistical model which can integrate all the cases. The significance of this study is in that it generalized and assessed the nurses' understanding of duty based on nursing -care which was legally disputed and compared nurse's attitude with precedents.

Dextranase (${\alpha}$-1,6-D-glucan-6-glucanogydrolase:E.C. 3.2.1.11) catalyzes the hydrolysis of ${\alpha}$-(1.6) linkages of dextran. A lsd1 gene encoding an extracellular dextranase was isolated from the genomic DNA of L. starkeyi. The lsd11 gene is a synthetic dextranase (lsd1) after codon optimization for gene expression with Pichia pastoris system. A open reading frame of lsd11 gene was 1827 bp and it was inserted into the pPIC3.5K expression vector. The plasmid linearized by Sac I was integrated into the 5'AOX region of the chromosomal DNA of P. pastoris. The lsd11 gene fragment encoding a mature protein of 608 amino acids with a predicted molecular weight of 70 kDa, was expressed in the methylotrophic yeast P. pastoris by controling the alcohol oxidase-1 (AOX1) promoter. The recombinant lds11 was optimized by using the shake-flask expression and upscaled using fermentation technology. More than 9.8 mg/L of active dextranase was obtained after induction by methanol. The optimum pH of LSD11 was found to be 5.5 and the optimum temperature $28^{\circ}C$.

Yoon Gil-Young(1911-1987) was a frontier of the field of Traditional Korean Medical Physiology(TKMP) who was academically active since mid 1950s until early 1970s. He wrote several important papers and books. Among his writings, "A Study on the Methodology of Traditional Korean Medical Physiology", which was published serially in the "Korean Oriental Medical Journal" from June 1966 until March 1967, played an important role in establishing the contemporary TKMP and showed his academic stance on Traditional Korean Medicine(TKM). This review will evaluate this paper's contribution to the establishment of TKMP in historical context, summarize the unique characteristics of his understanding of TKMP by analyzing the text, and then based on those information, examine his view on TKMP and TKM. Historically, this paper was written in transition period from the traditional TKM knowledge system to the modernized one. Aim of this paper was to provide a methodology for establishing TKMP as a scientific knowledge system like that of the western medicine. Based on his study of Yin-Yang theory and theory of five circuits and six qi in Huangdi's Internal Classics, he suggested those theories as methods to observing life phenomena and systematizing the observations. And he regarded these methods as of great value in determining the unique characteristics of TKM compared to those of western medicine. Through re-reading this paper, it was found that he had pride and confidence in the methodology of TKM, and also that he thought in scientizing and modernizing TKM it was very important to understand and efficiently put in use the methodology of TKM. It was also found that his view on TKMP and TKM was pro modernization.

A gene encoding squalene synthase from grain amaranth was cloned and characterized. The full-length cDNA was 1805-bp long and contained a 1248-bp open reading frame encoding a protein of 416 amino acids with a molecular mass of 47.6 kDa. Southern blot analysis revealed that the A. cruentus genome contained a single copy of the gene. Comparison of the cDNA and genomic sequences indicated that the amaranth SQS gene had 12 introns and 13 exons. All of the exons contributed to the coding sequence. The predicted amino acid sequence of the SQS cDNA shared high homology with those of SQSs from several other plants. It contained conserved six domains that are believed to represent crucial regions of the active site. We conducted qRT-PCR analyses to examine the expression pattern of the SQS gene in seeds at different developmental stages and in several tissues. The amaranth SQS gene was low levels of SQS transcripts at the initial stage of seed development, but the levels increased rapidly at the mid-late developmental stages before declining at the late developmental stage. These findings showed that the amaranth SQS is a late-expressed gene that is rapidly expressed at the mid-late stage of seed development. In addition, we observed that the SQS mRNA levels in stems and roots increased rapidly during the four- to six-leaf stage of development. Therefore, our results showed that the expression levels of SQS in stem and root tissues are significantly higher than those in leaf tissues. In present study provides useful information about the molecular characterization of the SQS clone isolated from grain amaranth. Finally, a basic understanding of these characteristics will contribute to further studies on the amaranth SQS.

Number of children cared by child care centers has getting up almost half of the from zero to five year age group in korea. Home care children' activities are reported more active and natural than those of center care children. So this study seek the design guidelines for the residential core model of child care centers as second home in korea. The residential core model by Anita Lui Olds was selected and ten domestic center cases were surveyed for guidelines. Firstly, daily-residential core model is learning by daily life at home, and is equiped with cooking kitchenet and group activity area in group room. Secondly, play-residental core model is learning by playing by self, and is equiped with acting, eating and reading common area clustering two or three group room. Thirdly, eco-residental core model is learning by eco-friendly activities, and is equiped with companying, cooperating and sharing area. Fourthly, project-residental core model is learning by project by self, and is equiped with drawing, experimenting and presenting common area. Fifthly, the space of residential core model is organized with three or four group room and clustering living or common area. The larger the center is, the more the cluster is vertically. Facility area and outdoor playground per child is about 7 and $3m^2$.
