  • So far the studies on mathematical problem-solving education have failed to realize the anticipated result from students. The purpose of this study is to examine the reasons from the metacognitional viewpoint, and to think of making meta-items which enables learners to study through making effective use of the meaning of problem-solving and through establishing a general, well-organized theory on metacognition related to mathematic teaching guiedance. Metacognition means the understanding of knowledge of one's own and significance in the situation that can be reflection so as to express one's own knowledge and use it effectively when was questioned. Mathematics teacher can help students to learn how to control their behaviors by showing the strategy clearly, the decision and the behavior which are used in his own planning, supervising and estimating the solution process himself. If mathematics teachers want their students to be learners not simply knowing mathematical facts and processes, but being an active and positive, they should develop effective teaching methods. In fact, mathematics learning activities are accomplished under the complex condition arising from the factors of various cognition activities. therefore, mathematical education should consider various factors of feelings as well as a factor as fragmentary mathematical knowledge.

  • Automated text categorization is to classify free text documents into predefined categories automatically and whose main goals is to reduce considerable manual process required to the task. The researches to improving the text categorization performance(efficiency) in recent years, focused on enhancing existing classification models and algorithms itself, but, whose range had been limited by feature based statistical methodology. In this paper, we propose RTPost system of different style from i.ny traditional method, which takes fault tolerant system approach and data mining strategy. The 2 important parts of RTPost system are reinforcement training and post-processing part. First, the main point of training method deals with the problem of defining category to be classified before selecting training sample documents. And post-processing method deals with the problem of assigning category, not performance of classification algorithms. In experiments, we applied our system to documents getting low classification accuracy which were laid on a decision boundary nearby. Through the experiments, we shows that our system has high accuracy and stability in actual conditions. It wholly did not depend on some variables which are important influence to classification power such as number of training documents, selection problem and performance of classification algorithms. In addition, we can expect self learning effect which decrease the training cost and increase the training power with employing active learning advantage.

  • As an alternative of making students active and independent under the passive learning conditions in school math classes, many researchers have paid much attention to problem posing and done a lot of research on it. Above all, Brown and Walter proposed What I f Not strategy as a means of problem posing. In this strategy, during the process of posing problems, the transformation of their attributes is inevitably made, and so after problem posing, the process is finished by explaining the problem. But only the simple transformation of attributes could pose wrong problems. It suggests that it is very important to recognize the relationship which leads to organic connection between attributes in order to pose the right problem. However, many other studies of problem posing haven't focused on this fact. Thus, this study tried to design a model of problem posing to help recognize inherent knowledge in the problem and then pose the right problem by adding an activity of meaning analysis. We concretely showed a model of problem posing emphasizing the analysis of meaning by means of an example, thereby examining the meaning of the model. This study expects students to have the chance to understand the true meaning of problem posing and to be active learners after all.

  • In this paper, a new opposition based charged system search (CSS) is proposed to be used as a parameter identification of highly nonlinear semi-active magneto-rheological damper. By replacing the opposition particles with current solutions, the mentioned strategy is used to enhance the search space and to increase the exploration of CSS. To investigate the effectiveness of the proposed method, a nonlinear modified Bouc-Wen model of MR damper is considered to find its parameters, and compare it with those achieved from experimental model of MR damper. Also, by exploiting the sensitivity analysis and using the importance vector, the less importance parameters in the Bouc-Wen model are eliminated which makes the MR damper model simpler. Results demonstrate the new proposed algorithm (OBLCSS) has a high ability to tackle highly nonlinear problems. Based on the results of the α importance vector, a simplified model is proposed and its parameters are identified by using the presented OBLCSS algorithm. The simplified proposed model also has a high capability of estimating damper responses.

  • Previous studies on strategic alliance formation have largely overlooked the effects that organizations' routine development can have on the relationship between organizations' network position and their alliance ambidexterity strategy. This study extends ambidexterity research by adding internal and network perspectives and examining their cumulative effects on alliance ambidexterity. We first acknowledge the interplay between organizations' internal knowledge exploration/exploitation strategies and organizations' alliance ambidexterity and determine that organizations with a high level of internal knowledge breadth are more likely to make focused alliance decisions. Second, our analysis of 145 US-based information technology organizations with an active alliance behavior reveals that having well-formed routines as a result of previous collaborations strengthens the tendency of brokerage organizations to follow alliances that focus on either exploration or exploitation. Although most alliance studies have commonly argued in favor of an ambidextrous approach, this study provides critical evidence that both internal knowledge exploration/exploitation strategies and development of routines constrain organizations' alliance formation decisions, guiding them towards a more focused approach.

  • For engineering, there are two major challenges in reliability analysis. First, to ensure the accuracy of simulation results, mechanical products are usually defined implicitly by complex numerical models that require time-consuming. Second, the mechanical products are fortunately designed with a large safety margin, which leads to a low failure probability. This paper proposes an efficient and high-precision adaptive active learning algorithm based on the Kriging surrogate model to deal with the problems with low failure probability and time-consuming numerical models. In order to solve the problem with multiple failure regions, the adaptive kernel-density estimation is introduced and improved. Meanwhile, a new criterion for selecting points based on the current Kriging model is proposed to improve the computational efficiency. The criterion for choosing the best sampling points considers not only the probability of misjudging the sign of the response value at a point by the Kriging model but also the distribution information at that point. In order to prevent the distance between the selected training points from too close, the correlation between training points is limited to avoid information redundancy and improve the computation efficiency of the algorithm. Finally, the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed method are verified compared with other algorithms through two academic examples and one engineering application.

  • Private specialized institutions differ from public ones in that they mostly act independently. This paper reports a study designed to assess the provision of specialized institutions for children with intellectual disabilities in Saudi Arabia. The approach taken in this study was qualitative, involving a case study strategy that enabled the researcher to gain rich and in-depth information based on the shared experiences of participants comprising institution leaders, educators and families from two specific specialized settings, one public and one private. The study aimed to examine the existing disparities in service delivery so as to develop a clear picture of the service quality provided by public specialized institutions for children with intellectual disabilities in Saudi Arabia. The results suggest that the weak relationship with inpatient and specialized institutions is a consequence of the parents' poor responsiveness, which may result in these institutes developing a negative impression of the parents. Conversely, the lack of active initiative on the part of the public specialized institutions led to a negative parental attitude towards these institutions. A sensible approach to resolving this problem might be to recognize that these institutions have a significant responsibility to encourage parents of children with intellectual disabilities to become involved in their children's learning, to promote positive attitudes.

  • A growing gap between market needs and the capabilities of the enterprise prompts repositioning (Corstjens and Dolye 1989). This article examines the strategic repositioning of 'Korando Sports' undertaken by SYMC throughout the period from Jan. 2012 to Jun. 2012, to boost sales volume and market share by entering market of active-lifestyle consumers currently occupied by SUVs. SYMC's experience indicates that it is essential to close the gap between the market needs and the ability of the enterprise to make a shift to new consumer segment with a new positioning. The successful repositioning framework(Ryan et al. 2007) were employed in this paper. This framework is comprised of six elements: core strategic values, strategic flexibility/learning capabilities, customer awareness and sensitivity, external orientation, management commitment, and belief in the product and brand. The evaluation based on the successful framework also confirms that 'Korando Sports' case meets all the requirements of the successful strategic repositioning. This paper provides some of the managerial implications with aim of assisting executives in identifying strategic repositioning opportunities. Primarily, the 'Korando Sports' case affirms the repositioning as a viable strategy and indicates that repositioning is a feasible means for strategic change. Second, this case shows the influence of a target consumer and SYMC's repositioning to follow consumer preference for a particular attribute. Moreover, we can understand how a product formerly considered weak in attributes can enjoy benefits in other segments with the same attributes.
