Characteristics of polyaniline anti-corrosive coatings with various primer coating resins(epoxy resin, urethane resin, and others) and top coating resins(epoxy and acrylic urethane resins) were investigated through adhesion, acid resistance, alkaline resistance, water resistance, and anti-corrosion tests. As a result, the anti-corrosive properties of the prepared coatings using polyaniline varied with the types of primer and top coating resins. In this condition, the properties of adhesion, chemical resistance, and water resistance were found to be very satisfactory when using emeraldine base (EB) of polyaniline blended with single-packaged urethane and acrylic urethane resins as the primer coatings, and using acrylic urethane resin as the top coatings. Also, the anti-corrosive function of these anti-corrosive coatings was well preserved for 1000 hr in the salt spray experiment.

In this study, we experimented that how to synthesis waterborne urethane-acrylic hybrid resin for leather coatings. First of all, We had analyzed data by FT-IR, SEM and TGA for the machanical properties. By TGA analysis polymers showed heat distortion temperature. and by FT-IR measurement we confirmed that synthesis of urethane and acrylic. In the experiment, solvent resistance, polyurethane and acrylic grades 4-5 showed both a high. Tensile strength measured in the waterborne polyurethane > Acrylic emulsion showed strength in the order. Films were obtained by coating the water born resin on leveled surfaces and allowing them to dry at room temperature for 72hrs. After demolding, the films were kept in a desiccator to avoid moisture contant at $25^{\circ}C$ for 45hrs before the measurements. In this result, the mechanical propersies of waterborne polyurethane-acrylic hybrid resin showed that how effect to resin in leather coating between polyurethane content and acrylic content. Therefore, acrylic emulsion had most high solvent resistance glade and waterborne polyurethane had good result in abrasion test and tensile strength.
Waterborne polyurethane dispersion (WPUD) was synthesized from polycarbonate diol (PCD), isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI) and dimethylol propionic acid (DMPA) as starting materials. Then, waterborne acrylic polyurethane dispersion (AUD) was synthesized by reacting the WPUD with an acrylate monomer, methyl methacrylate (MMA). Subsequently, the AUD was mixed with multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) to yield a conductive coating solution, and the mixture was coated on the polycarbonate substrate. With increasing the amount of MMA in the AUD, the pencil hardness, abrasion resistance and chemical resistance of the coating films were improved, but the electrical conductivity of the coating films was decreased. On the other hand, the pencil hardness, abrasion resistance and chemical resistance of coating films were decreased, but the electrical conductivity was enhanced with increasing the amount of MWCNT in the conductive coating solutions.

It is important to realize that benzoate was intercalated into hydrotalcite (HTC-Bz) by the co-precipitation method. In this case, acrylic coating with 0.5 wt% HTC-Bz was deposited on carbon steel using the spin coating method. Next, the HTC-Bz structure was characterized by Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). In fact, an ultraviolet vision spectroscopy (UV-Vis) was used to determine the benzoate content in HTC-Bz, and the UV absorption ability of HTC-Bz. Using electrochemical techniques, water contact angle measurement, and thermal-gravimetric analysis, we compared the protective properties before and after QUV test, hydrophobicity and the thermal stability of acrylic coating containing HTC-Bz. The obtained results showed that HTC-Bz with a plate-like structure was successfully synthesized; benzoate was intercalated into the interlayer of hydrotalcite with a concentration of 28 wt%. Additionally, it was noted that HTC-Bz has an UV absorption peak at 225 nm. In conclusion, the addition of HTC-Bz enhanced the UV stability, hydrophobicity and the thermal stability of acrylic coating.
In this study, $^1H$ NMR spectroscopy and HPLC were used to identify the type and quantity of each component in an acrylic coating materials applied for an automotive part. By the $^1H$ NMR analysis, it was found that this acrylic coating contained about 88.40 wt% of poly methyl methacrylate (PMMA), 7.05 wt% of methyl methacrylate (MMA), and 2.36 wt% of allyl methacrylate. Polymer additives such as a benzotriazole light stabilizer (Hisorb 328), an oxanilide light stabilizer, butylated hydroxy toluene (BHT), and dimethyl phthalate (DMP) were also identified and measured quantitatively from the $^1H$ NMR spectra. However, only two light stabilizers were identified by reverse phase (RP) HPLC analysis using Bondapak C18 column, methanol mobile phase, and a PDA (Photodiode array) detector. The contents of two light stabilizers in the acrylic coating were measured by a quantitative analysis through UV-Vis spectroscopy and compared with the NMR data. The analytical informations from $^1H$ NMR spetra were better than those from HPLC-PDA plot.

Acrylic pressure sensitive adhesives (PSAs) are used in various field of high-technology industries such as semiconductor, display, mobile, automobile, and so on. Because of they have high durabilities and can be easily introduced functional groups in their molecular structures. PSA perfomances has an effect on their applications in industry process operation, reliability of final products. In this study, PSA performances as a function of fim thickness which is one of the impact factors effects on PSA performances will be investigated using combinatorial methods. Acrylic PSAs are synthesized using 2-ethylhexyl acrylate and acrylic acid. Thickness-gradient of acrylic PSA sample is made by a micro applicator. We compare general coating method with thickness-gradient coating method and evaluate the reappearance of combinatorial methods compared with existing coating method. Thickness-gradient of acrylic PSA sample shows rough and broad data tendency.
The capsules were prepared from a phase change material (PCM) of octadecane as a core material and melamine formaldehyde resin as a shell material. The PCM capsule size was varied in the range of $3{\sim}25{\mu}m$. The core contents and sizes of the PCM capsule, were determined by DSC and SEM, respectively. An acrylic coating material which contains butyl acrylate (BA), methyl metacrylate (MMA) and acrylic acid (AA) were synthesized by emulsion polymerization. The films were prepared from the acrylic emulsion and PCM capsules which have various capsule sizes. From the results of SEM experiment, it was observed that the PCM capsules were well dispersed inside the film and the surface of the film became less rough when the PCM capsule size was small. The swelling ratio of the films were not significantly affected by the PCM capsule size. However, the tensile strength and elongation of the films were greatly decreased with increasing the PCM capsule size.
Waterborne polyurethane dispersion (WPUD) was prepared from polycarbonate diol (PCD), isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI) and dimethylol propionic acid (DMPA) as starting materials. Then, waterborne acrylic polyurethane dispersion (AUD) was synthesized by reacting the WPUD with different types of acrylate monomers, such as methyl methacrylate (MMA), 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) and butyl acrylate (BA). Subsequently, the AUD was mixed with multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) to yield a conductive coating solution, and the mixture was coated on the polycarbonate substrate. The pencil hardness, abrasion resistance and chemical resistance of the coating films from AUD were improved than those from WPUD, while the electrical conductivity of the coating films from AUD was decreased than that of WPUD. Also, the effect of acrylate types on the properties of coating films was investigated. The AUD obtained from HEMA showed the strongest pencil hardness, while the AUD obtained from MMA exhibited the strongest abrasion resistance, chemical resistance and electrical conductivity among several types of acrylate monomers.
Starch is an environmental-friendly natural source, more interests are attracted to use starch for synthesis of composites and coating sols. Starch-acrylic coating sols for architectural materials were synthesized by emulsion polymerization. The structures of synthesized materials were characterized by using Infrared spectra, $^1H$-NMR spectra, and physical characteristics were investigated by X-ray diffraction, foaming test, whiteness test, gloss test and tensile strength test. XRD results showed that starch in starch-acrylic copolymer matrix was in an amorphous state. Starch-acrylic emulsion was compounded with 1%, 3%, 5% foaming agent (n-pentane) and 60% $CaCO_3$ solution. The results showed that starch and foaming agent could increase the foamability. Tensile strength increased with the enhancement of starch and foaming agent concentration. But whiteness and gloss decreased with increase of starch and foaming agent concentration.
The catalytic effects of carboxylic acid and dibutyltin dilaurate(DBTL) on the curing rate of acrylic polyol with isocyanate prepolymer were investigated. In this work reaction of a biuret type aliphatic isocyanate with acrylic polyol follows the second order reaction in the thin film state. Carboxylic acid of acrylic polyol has a strong catalytic effect on the isocyanate groups and influences greatly on curing rate, also DBTL is more effective catalysis on acrylic polyol without carboxylic acid than with carboxylic acid.
