Vibration signal has been widely utilized in the diagnostics of rotating mechanical system. Diagnostics systems in rotating machinery are depends on the vibration data which are acquired from the system. However, the characteristics of acquired data can be vary according to the position of anomaly installed or the position of data acquired. In this research, the coordinate transform of journal bearing vibration signal was proposed to overcome the limitation mentioned above. Journal bearing systems are equipped two gap sensors with ninety degree angles, and it can enable to generate coordinate transformed signals in arbitrary angle domain. More abundant information for each normal or anomaly conditions are obtained from coordinate transformation than only the data of the existing measuring position, then we have developed a reliable and robust diagnosis algorithm for journal bearing system.

A 7-year-old castrated male domestic short-hair cat presented with anorexia, constipation, depression, and voice alteration. Physical and neurological examinations revealed hyperthermia ($40.5^{\circ}C$), ventroflexion of the neck, reduced responses to external stimuli, generalized muscle weakness, and exercise intolerance. Thoracic radiographs revealed the presence of a cranial mediastinal mass. The history, clinical signs, and other examination results were compatible with acquired myasthenia gravis (MG). Acetylcholine receptor (AChR) antibody titers were determined to confirm MG and the serum AChR antibody concentration was 1.24 nmol/L (reference interval, < 0.3 nmol/L). This is the first diagnosis of acquired MG in a cat in Korea.

131 cases of open heart surgery were performed in the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, Kyungpook National University Hospital in 1985. There were 116 congenital cardiac anomaly and 15 acquired heart diseases. Out of 116 congenital cardiac anomaly, 73 cases of acyanotic group and 43 cases of cyanotic group were noted. In 73 cases of acyanotic group, 17 ASD, 52 VSD and 4 other acyanotic anomaly were noticed. In 43 cases of cyanotic group, 4 Trilogy of Fallot, 34 TOF, 1 Pentalogy, 3 DORV and 1 DCRV were included. Of the 15 acquired valvular heart disease cases, individual incidence was in mitral valve 10, double valve 3, and simple aortic valve 2 cases. Total number of valve replaced was 16, and 13 for mitral, 2 for aortic, and 1 for tricuspid in position, including 1 cases of double valve replacement. Overall operative mortality for 131 cases of open heart surgery was 4.5%, and the operative mortality was 5.5% in congenital acyanotic group, 2.3% in congenital cyanotic group, 0% in TOF group and 6.7% in acquired group.

This study is conducted to apply the insight of Johnson and Libecap(1982) to Korea's coastal vessel fishing. According to Johnson and Libecap(1982) the differences in fishing ability are largely attributed to acquired knowledge and innate skills. Since those skills are unlikely to be readily transferable assets, economic rents exist in the fishery, even under open access conditions. Therefore the paper tries to examine whether the acquired information from fishing experience and innate skill could also have an effect on catch variation of coastal vessel fishing in Kyung-Nam province. To do so, the paper is performing the analysis by establishing econometric model. Results show us that the acquired information from fishing experience have a significant effect on catch variation, but the innate skill does not.

This paper reports on the research which analyzes acoustic signals acquired in progressive compressing, hole blanking, and burr compacting process. An acoustic sensor was set on the bed of hydraulic press. Acoustic signal is generated from progressive stamping process. First the signal acquired from the unit process; compressing, blanking or compacting, is studied by Fourier Transform and Short Time Fourier Transform. The blanking process emitted ultrasonic signal with more than 20kHz, but the compressing and compacting processes emitted acoustic signals with lower than 10kHz. The combined signals periodically acquired right after the tool grinding were then analyzed. 70-80kHz signals appeared in time-frequency domain, but not in the frequency domain, the magnitude of which was related to the tool wear. Short Time Fourier Transform made up for the Fourier Transform in analyzing the emitted signal for stamping process in the ultrasonic domain.

An experiment was conducted among free-ranging red-winned blackbirds (Agelaius phoeniceus) that acquired illness-induced conditioned taste aversion (CTA) by consuming insect prey tainted with a dose of parathion up to 2.0 mg/kg consumer body weight. Birds quickly acquired CTA and avoided all four insect prey during a lengthy posttest without parathion. This experiment proved that organophosphate insecticide application in the field might decrease the food consumption of wild birds and may also affect the reproductive success of breeding birds. Thus, CTA acquired accidentally after eating insecticide contaminated insect prey appears to be one of the reasons for the decreasing number of breeding songbirds in North America.

Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) is a major cause of morbidity, of mortality, and of expenditure of medical resources. The etiology and antimicrobial susceptibility of CAP pathogens can differ by country. Treatment guidelines need to reflect the needs of individual countries based on pathogen susceptibility studies. Recent treatment guidelines for CAP in Korea were published by the Joint Committee of the Korean Academy of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases, the Korean Society for Chemotherapy, and the Korean Society of Infectious Diseases. In this article, the etiologies, diagnoses, treatments for CAP will be reviewed and compared to the recent published Korean guidelines for CAP treatment.

Over the past decade, several kinase inhibitors have been approved based on their clinical benefit in cancer patients. Unfortunately, in many cases, patients develop resistance to these agents via secondary mutations and alternative mechanisms. To date, several major mechanisms of acquired resistance, such as secondary mutation of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) gene, amplification of the MET gene and overexpression of hepatocyte growth factor, have been reported. This review describes the recent findings on the mechanisms of primary and acquired resistance to EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors and acquired resistance to anaplastic lymphoma kinase inhibitors, primarily focusing on non-small cell lung carcinoma.

Acquired adult flatfoot deformity is characterized by flattening of the medial longitudinal arch and dysfunction of the posteromedial soft tissues, including the posterior tibial tendon. When the non-operative treatment fails to result in improvement of symptoms, surgery should be considered. Operative techniques include flexor digitorum longus tendon transfer, calcaneal medial slide osteotomy, lateral column lengthening, and arthrodesis of the hindfoot. The principle of correcting the deformity while avoiding overcorrection and excessive stiffness is important in achievement of good outcomes in these patients.

One of the most important research areas on remote sensing is spectral unmixing of hyper-spectral data. For spectral unmixing of hyper spectral data, accurate land cover information is necessary. But obtaining accurate land cover information is difficult process. Obtaining land cover information from high-resolution data may be a useful solution. In this study spectral signature of endmembers on ASTER acquired in October was calculated from land cover information on IKONOS acquired in September. Then the spectral signature of endmembers applied to ASTER images acquired on January and March. Then the result of spectral unmxing of them evauateted. The spectral signatures of endmembers could be applied to different seasonal images. When it applied to an ASTER image which have similar zenith angle to the image of the spectral signatures of endmembers, spectral unmixing result was reliable. Although test data has different zenith angle from the image of spectral signatures of endmembers, the spectral unmixing results of urban and vegetation were reliable.
