  • We studied on the nondestructive evaluation of the elastic wave signal of SiC ceramics and SiC/SiC composite ceramics under monotonic tensile loading. The elastic wave signal of cross and unidirectional SiC/SiC composite ceramics were obtained by pencil lead method and bending test. It was applied for the time-frequency method which used by the discrete wavelet analysis algorithm. The time-frequency analysis provides time variation of each frequency component involved in a waveform, which makes it possible to evaluate the contribution of SiC fiber frequency. The results were compared with the characteristic of frequency group from SiC slurry and fiber. Based on the results, if it is possible to shift up and design as a higher frequency group, we will can make the superior material better than those of exiting SiC/SiC composites.

  • In this study, we estimated the behavior of the diversity of physiological responses under varied physical environmental factors by measuring variations of heart rate variability (HRV), an index of activity of cardiac autonomic control. Seven healthy young male adults consented and participated in the study. The environmental conditions consisted of thermal, lighting, and acoustic conditions. Two components of HRV were measured. one was the low frequency (LF) component of HRV, which provided a quantitative index of the sympathetic and parasympathetic (vagal) activities controlling the heart rate (HR). The other component measured was the high frequency (HF) component, which provided an index of the vagal tone. The percent contribution of physical environmental factors to the variations in HRV indices were calculated by ANOVA. The contribution of physical environmental factors to the variations in HR was higher than the contribution of HF and LF. However, the contribution of these factors was lower than the contribution related with individual difference in all indices. This result showed that the individual diversity of physiological responses is not a negligible quantity.

  • In this study, when AC voltage is applied to block type treeing specimen which is fabricated with polyethylene which dielectric characteristics is excellent, from initial tree to final breakdown, Using acoustic emission method. we take statistically on parameter, which is skewness. We experimented on quenching condition and illustrated skewness locus plane so that studied interrelation of life expectation and parameter.

  • In Underwater Flight Vehicle depth control system, the followings must be required. Firstly, It need robust depth control performance which can get over parameter variation, modeling error and disturbance. Secondly, It need no oveshoot phenomenon to avoid colliding with ground surface and obstables. Thirdly, It need continuous control input to reduce the acoustic noise and propulsion energy consumption. Finally, It need effective interpolation method which can reduce the dependency of control parameters on speed. To solve these problems, we propose the Fuzzy-PID depth controller with the control parameter interpolators. Simulation results show the proposed control scheme has robust and accurate performance with continuous control input.

  • An optical microphone was developed using a dual-core multi-mode fiber block and a membrane type micromirror. The fiber block serves as a compact optical head, and the micromirror as a reflective diaphragm. The micromirror is designed to be suspended through a silicon bar connected t a frame, allowing for displacement induced by acoustic waves. The optical head is implemented by integrating two multi-mode fibers in a single block, and used to transfer light signals between it and the diaphragm. For the assembled microphone, its static characteristics were observed to reveal the operating point defined as the optimum distance between the optical head and the diaphragm. And its dynamic response was tested to exhibit a frequency bandwidth of 3 kHz with the variation of $\sim5dB$.

  • From a population in Kang-Nae, Cheong-won, Chung-Buk, acoustic behaviours of Gray-headed Bunting (Emberizo fucata) were obsenred. The singing of males was classified into two major types, stereotyped song and squeaky song. The stereotyped songs of eight territorial males were recorded Intraindividual and individually distinctive features were studied. Individuals produced their song in distinctive ways in terms of song duration and the number of syllables. Gray-headed Buntings sang various syllable types. We found that a male produced more constant syllables in anterior group than those in posterior group. Males sang distinctive syllables among them. Some syllable types which were frequently appeared in an anterior group. In these analyses, we suggest that the anterior groups in songs of a Gray-headed Bunting express the constant information and the posterior groups contribute to situational communication.

  • The object of this study is to investigate material characteristics and flexural behavior of high strength concrete. Principal causes of variations of high compressive strength include the strength-producing capabilities of cement and silica hume. Compressive strength of 1200 kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ is introduced for identifying the effect of the variation of the size of porocity and alternative method of measurement, Acoustic Emition method, is applied to examine the phenominon of concrete failure. The main test variables in the beam element are tensile steel ratios, presence of shear reinforcement, and change of steel shape. The estimation of stress block in the flexural test of this element tends to support the present theory and may suggest a desirable shape of the stress block.

  • We deposited Zinc oxide (ZnO) thin films on Ru buffer layer in order to protect the amorphous layer between ZnO and Al interface. In X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern, it was observed that increase of (002)-orientation by the variation of annealing treatment temperature. Also, surface roughness and specific resistance were increased by annealing treatment but full width at half maximum (FWHM) was decreased. In film bulk acoustic resonators (FBARs) fabricated from these results, we finally confirmed that the resonant frequency of 0.89 GHz without its shift was measured.

  • Helmholtz resonators have high transmission loss in a narrow band at the resonance frequency. The transmission loss characteristics of resonators at high sound pressure levels can change due to variations of the impedance as a result of nonlinear behavior. Different sound pressure levels are applied to each resonator when resonators were arranged along the path. Therefore, impedance variation due to incident sound pressure level should be considered in order to predict the transmission loss.
