This paper presents a study of low frequencies volume velocity vibration control of a smart panel in order to reduce sound transmission. A distributed piezoelectric quadratically shaped polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) polymer film is used as a uniform force actuator and an array of 4$\times$4 accelerometer is used as a volume velocity sensor for the implementation of a single-input single-output con rot system. The theoretical and experimental study of sensor-actuator frequency response function sho vs that this sensor-actuator arrangement provides a required strictly positive real frequency response function below about 900Hz. Direct velocity feedback could therefore be implemented with a limited gain which gives reductions of about 15㏈ in vibration level and about 8 ㏈ in acoustic power level at the (1, 1) mode of the smart Panel. It has been also shown that the shaping error of PVDF actuator could limit he stability and performance of the control system.

In this study. object transport method based on ultrasonic flexural vibration is presented. Ultrasonic vibration generates ultrasonic traveling waves on the surface of elastic medium. Objects are transported through the interaction with traveling waves propagating in medium. Two types of transport methods are studied: frictional drive and acoustic levitation. With frictional drive, objects are transported in contact with the beam in the opposite direction of wave propagation whereas with acoustic levitation, objects are acoustically levitated above the beam surface and transported in the wave propagation direction. Transport characteristics are experimentally investigated using objects of different shapes and sizes. The transition from acoustic levitation mode to frictional drive mode is also examined. and it is found to occur when the ratio of mass to area of an object exceeds the threshold ratio of mass to area. It is envisaged that this feasibility study will serve as a stepping-stone for ultrasonic vibration to become an effective industrial material handling device in the future.
The absorbing material is mostly used to changing the acoustic energy to the heat energy in the passive control, and that consists of the porous media. That controls an air borne noise while the stiffened plates, damping material and additional mass control a structure borne noise. The additional mass can decrease the sound by mass effect and shift of natural frequency, and damping material can decrease the sound by damping effect. The passive acoustic control using these kinds of control materials has an advantage that is possible to control the acoustic in the wide frequency band and the whole space at a price as compared with the active control using the various electronic circuit and actuator. But the space efficiency decreased and the control ability isn't up to the active control. So it is necessary to maximize the control ability in the specific frequency to raise the capacity of passive control minimizing the diminution of space efficiency such an active control. Therefore, the characteristics of control materials and the optimum layout of control materials that attached to the boundary of structure-acoustic coupled cavity were studied using sequential optimization on this study.
This paper presents a study of low frequencies volume velocity vibration control of a smart panel in order to reduce sound transmission. A distributed piezoelectric quadratically shaped polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) polymer film is used as a uniform force actuator and an array of $4\;{\times}\;4$ accelerometer is used as a volume velocity sensor for the implementation of a single-input single-output control system. The theoretical and experimental study of sensor-.actuator frequency response function shows that this sensor-actuator arrangement provides a required strictly positive real frequency response function below about 900 Hz. Direct velocity feedback could therefore be implemented with a limited gain which gives reductions of about 15 dB in vibration level and about 8 dB in acoustic power level at the (1,1) mode of the smart panel. It has been also shown that the shaping error of PVDF actuator could limit the stability and performance of the control system.
Recently the demand for a fast and precise actuator in semiconductor industries is growing larger. A SAW motor is now expected as a new friction-drive actuator to meet such demand. However, its friction and wear properties are almost unknown and its low stability and reliability still remain to be solved. In this research the tests of SAW motor were carried out and its durability was discussed. The effect of wear caused by friction on the driving force and driving speed were clarified.
A small L-type megasonic module for nano-pattern cleaning was designed and manufactured. The impedance graph of the quartz waveguide with a piezoelectric actuator was predicted using finite element method (FEM). The peak value of the piezoelectric actuator alone was 3.373 MHz, which was the same as the experimentally measured value of 3.373 MHz (0.0% error). In addition, the maximum impedance value of the quartz waveguide with the actuator was 3.373 MHz, which agreed well with the measured value of 3.362 MHz (0.3% error). The acoustic pressures of a conventional megasonic system (3 MHz) and the developed system under similar conditions were measured and compared. The results showed that the maximum values and standard deviations of the developed system decreased by 29% and 18%, respectively, compared with the conventional type. This suggests that the small L-type would have higher particle removal efficiency with lower possibilities of pattern damages.
This study concerns about wireless power generation that uses the energy harvester with EAP actuator. The UWSN(Underwater Wireless Sensor Network) has been considered many times by many researches. Because the information of underwater is getting important to secure the resource or to predict the meteorological phenomena. But the sensor node in the UWSN is driven by the acoustic wave to communicate with other sensor node. And this acoustic wave usually spends a 100 times energy than the RF(Radio Frequency) wave due to transfermation medium(sea water). Therefore the power source of the sensor node is very important that is needed to improve in the UWSN. For this purpose, the energy harvester is made by the acrylic elastomer in this study. And the electrode is modified with an aluminum impurity to improve the efficiency of energy harvester. After that, the modified energy harvester is experimented to confirm the improvement of the energy efficiency.
In this study. we propose a wide bandwidth surface acoustic wave (SAW) motor by design of Inter Digital Transducer (IDT). SAW motor has several benefits compared with preexisted actuator. But it has narrow bandwidth, which causes the lower performance. To widen the bandwidth, the change of IDT structure was proposed, which is slanted IDT and since function apodization. The frequency responses were compared original uniform IDT and changed IDT. And the time responses were compared original uniform IDT and changed IDT. As a result, the feasibility of wide bandwidth SAW motor was certified.
Piezoelectric under water acoustic transducer is a kind of device for under water detection working as not only an actuator but also a sensor. The technique that can predict acoustical characteristics of transducer is important for robust design of transducer in harsh underwater environment. This paper represents the development of software for analyzing dynamic characteristics of piezoelectric acoustic transducers based on finite element method. Modal and transient analysis modulo for acoustic transducers are developed TWO dimensional model for Tonpilz transducer is used for the test of the developed nodal and transient analysis modules. and comparison is made with a commercial code, ANSYS.
