완효성 탄소원 정제 내 citric acid의 생물학적 탈질소화 영향 (Assessing the Role of Citric Acid in Denitrification of Nitrate in Slow-releasing Carbon Source Tablet)

  • This study utilized citric acid as a floating agent in biological denitrification process and assessed its role under different carbon supplying conditions. Several microcosm tests including citric acid active (CAA), precipitating tablet release active (PTRA) and floating tablet release active (FTRA) were conducted to evaluate nitrate denitrification efficacy. In CAA reactors, nitrate removal was accompanied by the formation of denitrification by-products such as nitrite and nitrous oxide, with the extent of nitrate removal being proportional to citric acid concentration. These results suggest that citric acid induced heterotrophic biological denitrification. PTRA reactor that incorporated CAA and the same electron donor showed a similar denitrification efficiency to CAA reactor. FTRA reactor, which contained the same amount of fumarate as PTRA, enhanced denitrification by 7% as compared to the PTRA reactor. The overall results of this work indicate that surplus citric acid can be efficiently utilized in heterotrophic denitrification.

LCD 식각폐액으로부터 질산과 초산의 분리 (Separation of Nitric Acid and Acetic Acid from the Waste Acid in LCD Etching Process)

  • LCD 제조공정에서 배출되는 폐에칭액으로부터 조(粗)인산 회수 후 잔류하는 질산, 초산 혼산폐액을 분리하여 자원화함으로써 고부가가치화하고 2차 폐수의 발생이 없는 친환경적인 청정 재활용기술을 개발하고자 진공증발을 이용하여 혼산폐액을 분리하였다. 진공도 -760 mmHg 조건에서 온도의 따른 진공증발 결과 $33^{\circ}C$ 이하에서는 초산만 증발되었으나 $33^{\circ}C$ 이상에서는 초산과 함께 질산이 미량 증발되었다. 초산 회수율을 높이고 질산 증발을 억제하기 위하여 -760 mmHg, $40^{\circ}C$ 조건으로 증발시간에 따른 증발거동을 조사하고 회수되는 증발량을 고려하여 추가로 물과 원액을 공급하였다. 또한 질산만 선택적으로 반응하도록 20 g/L NaOH를 소량씩 단계적으로 공급하였다. 질산 증발은 batch type 에서는 7%이었으나, 물 추가 시 0.78%, 원액 추가 시 0.25%까지 감소하였다. 20 g/L NaOH를 소량씩 단계적으로 공급한 결과 초산 회수율은 100%까지 증가하였으며, 질산은 6.22%까지 증발하였다.

가열조리에 의한 옥수수유의 트랜스지방산 변화에 관한 연구 (A Study on Variation of Trans Fatty Acid with Heat Treatment of Corn Oils)

  • 옥수수유를 $175{\pm}5^{\circ}C$에서 가열처리(15회)하여 가열 전과 트랜스지방산의 함량변화를 살펴본 결과, 0.292 g/100g에서 2.585 g/100g로 2.293 g/100g의 증가를 보였다. 15회 한 옥수수유를 방치(150일) 한 후 트랜스지방산의 함량변화를 살펴본 결과, 2.585 g/100g에서 3.683 g/100g로 1.098 g/100g의 증가를 나타냈고 1회 섭취하는 총 트랜스지방산의 함량(tFAs(g)/Serving size)은 0.01 g에서 0.18 g으로 0.17 g의 섭취량 증가를 나타냈다. 트랜스지방산의 이성체별 함량변화를 살펴보면, C18:2t, C18:3t보다 C18:1t가 가열횟수가 증가할수록 큰 폭으로 증가하는 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • In this research, poly(acrylic acid) (PAAc) hydrogels containing zinc oxide particle were prepared by gamma-ray irradiation. PAAc powder was completely dissolved in distilled water at room temperature. Water-insoluble zinc oxide powder were added into the PAAc solution and stirred until totally dissolved. Finally, the mixture was irradiated by gamma-ray irradiation to make crosslinking. The effects of various parameters such as zinc ions' concentration, irradiation doses were varied and investigated in detail. PAAc hydrogels containing zinc oxide particle were characterized by gel content and swelling ratio. Moreover, the antibacterial properties of this material were evaluated by paper diffusion test against the Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria.

산증류-HPLC법과 모니어윌리암스변법을 이용한 절임류중의 이산화황 함량 분석 (Determination of Sulfur Dioxide in Pickles by Acid Distillation-HPLC Method and Monnier Williams Modified Method)

  • 절임류에 함유된 이산화황함량의 정확한 분석을 위해 산 증류후 HPLC-UV detector를 이용한 방법과 Monnier-Williams변법으로 실험해보았다. 산증류-HPLC-UV법은 절임류중의 아황산염을 산증류 시킨 후 발생하는 이산화황을 1% triethanolamine용액에 흡수시켜 이를 UV 240nm에서 정량하는 것으로서, 고정상은 음이온 교환컬럼을, 이동상으로는 1.8mM $Na_2Co_3$와 1.7mM $NaHCO_3$용액을 사용하였다. 이 방법으로 단무지에 아황산염을 첨가하여 실험 한 결과 $84.0{\sim}91.7%$의 회수율을 얻었다. 시중에 유통되는 48종의 절임류에 대해 모니어윌리암스변법과 산증류-HPLC-UV법을 이용하여 이산화황 함량을 조사해본 결과, 산증류-HPLC-UV법에 비해 모니어월리암스법에서 휘발성 산으로 인해 높은 농도를 나타내었다. 산증류-HPLC-UV법으로 분석한 절임류의 이산화황 농도는 불검출${\sim}173.05ppm$이었고, 기준인 30ppm을 초과하는 제품은 3건이었다.

인공산성우에 대한 조경수목의 내성 비교 (A Study on Resistant Comparisons of Landscape Trees by Simulated Acid Rain)

  • To compare the resistance of landscape trees by acid rain, simulated acid rain was treated on the seeds of 6 coniferous species (Pinus densiflora, Pinus thunbergii, Pinus koraiensis, Taxus cuspidata, Cedrus deodara, Thuja occidentalis) and 6 broad-leafed species (Ligustrum obtusifolium, Acer Buergerianum, Acer Ginnala, Styrax obassia, Cornus Kousa, Magnolia obovata). The experimental design of randomized block arrangement with three replications was implemented in the experimental field of Yesan National Agri-Tech Junior College. The seeds of 12 tree species were planted on the nursery soil in the early spring of 1991. The regime of artificial acid rain, in terms of spray frequency per monthly and spray amount at year records. Simulated acid rain (pH 2.0, pH 4.0, pH 5.6 as control) containing sulfuric and nitric acid in the ratio of 3:2 (chemical equivalant basis) diluted ground water, were treated on the experimental plants under condition of cutting off the natural precipitation with vinyl tunnel, during the growing season (April 8 to August 31) in 1991. Seedling establishment, seedling growth and nutrient contents in needles and leaves were measured and compared among the treatment. The results were summerized as follows; 1. In general, coniferous species were more resistant than broad-leafed species in the resistant comparisons of landscape trees by simulated acid rain. But there were resistant tree species to acid rain among the broad-leafed species. 2. Among 6 coniferous species used in this experiment, Pinus densiflora, Pinus koraiensis, Taxus cuspidata, Cedrus deodara and Pinus thunbergii revealed the resistant tree species to acid rain. But Thuja occidentalis was very susceptible to acid rain, because of no germination in pH 2.0 treatment plot of acid rain. 3. Among 6 broad-leafed species used in this study, Magnolia obovata, Styrax obassia and Ligustrum obtusifolium showed relative resistant tree species to acid rain. But Acer Buergerianum, Acer Ginnala and Cornus Kousa were very susceptible to acid rain, because of no germination in pH 2.0 plot of acid rain treatment.

Construction of Citrus Transgenic Plant with Fatty Aicd Desaturase Gene

  • The transgenic plant of Citrus species (Citrus aurantium L.) was constructed with a fatty acid desaturase gene using microprojectile bombardment transformation system. The DNA of a fatty acid desaturase gene, fad7, constructed in pBI121 was coated onto tungsten particles ($1.1{\mu}m$) and introduced into callus cells by bombarding with 1100 psi of helium pressure, 1/4 in of gap distance, 7.0 cm of target distance and 27 in Hg of chamber vacuum. The bombarded cells were selected on the medium containing kanamycin. The selected cells were successfully regenerated into plantlets via somatic embryogenesis on the media containing plant growth regulators. The results of polymerase chain reaction analysis of genomic DNAs from the putative transformants showed that the introduced DNAs of fad7 were present in both the selected callus cells and the regenerated plantlets.

아크릴산이 그라프트된 나노섬유에서의 폴리도파민 코팅 (Polydopamine Coating Behaviors on the Acrylic Acid Grafted-Nanofibers)

  • The surface property of the materials used in tissue engineering application has been essential to regulate cellular behaviors by directing their adhesion on the materials. To modulate surface property of the synthetic biodegradable materials, a variety of surface modification techniques have used to introduced surface functional groups or bioactive molecules, recently polydopamine coating method have been introduce as a facile modification method which can be coated on various materials such as polymers, metals, and ceramics regardless of their surface property. However, there are no reports about the degree of polydopamine coating on the materials with different hydrophilicity. In the present study, we prepared acrylic acid grafted nanofibrous meshes using electron-beam irradiation, and then coated meshes with polydopamine. Polydopamine successfully coated on the all meshes, both properties of acrylic acid and polydopamine were detected on the meshes. In addition, the degree of polydopamine deposition on the materials has been altered according to surface hydrophilicity, which was approximately 8-times greater than those on the non-modified materials. In conclusion, dual effect from the acrylic acid grafting and polydopamine may give a chance as a alternative tool in tissue engineering application.

Industrial scale extraction and stripping devices for continuous recovery of gallic acid from Chinese nutgall processing wastewater

  • In this study, we report the industrial application of an efficient technology for the recovery of gallic acid from Chinese nutgall processing wastewater. The recovery of gallic acid by industrial scale extraction and stripping devices was performed, with tributyl phosphate as the extractant and kerosene as the diluent. The results showed that the theoretical extraction stage was four, while the theoretical stripping stage was two. A closed-cycle system was studied for the continuous countercurrent extraction and stripping, with a five-stage extraction device and a three-stage reflux stripping device. The results showed that the multistage extraction-stripping system could steadily run for a long period, the average gallic acid level in the raffinate was $0.85g{\cdot}L^{-1}$, and the gallic acid content recovered in the strip liquor was higher than $120g{\cdot}L^{-1}$. The average extraction yield of gallic acid was 94.14%. When the strip liquor was used as raw material for production, the average production yield increased by 8.64%. In addition, after extraction, the $COD_{Cr}$ in the wastewater decreased by 38.19%, and the biodegradability of wastewater improved by 1.6 times. This study provided a new impetus for the sustainable development of the Chinese nutgall processing industry.

CCT-ICP-MS의 대기분진내 미량원소분석에 대한 적용성 (Applicability of CCT-ICP-MS for the Determination of Trace Elements in Airborne Particulate Matters)

  • There has been few studies of either domestic or international to apply CCT-ICP-MS for the precise analysis of As and Cr components associated with airborne particulate matter. To date, the use of CCT-ICP-MS is strongly recommended for the accurate analysis of the toxic trace metals; this is because CCT-ICP-MS technique prevents polyatomic spectral interferences involved in the determination of As and/or Cr components. Taking advantage of CCT-ICP-MS technique, the measurements of about 20 metals were undertaken in this study. The standard reference material (NIST SRM 2783) was used for analytical quality control. To improve analytical accuracy and of acid efficiency, we selected nitric acid based on a test of three kinds of acid for microwave digestion method 1 ) nitric acid. 2) nitric acid and hydrogen peroxide. and 3) nitric acid and perchloric acid. When this method was employed, relative errors to SRM values of Al, As, Cr Fe, Mg, Mn, Pb, Sb, V, and Zn fell below 20%, while those or Ca, Si, and Ti were higher than 20%. The overall results of our study show that the concentrations of As and V determined by CCT-ICP-MS were satisfied with the certificated values within a relative error of 20e1c, whereas those determined by ICP-MS were 10 times higher than the certificated values.
