  • In order to help develop more comfortable seat cover fabrics, this study primarily surveyed the actual using conditions and the consumers' opinions of the seat cover fabrics. The results of this study were as follows: 1) The colors of seat cover fabric were mostly achromatic. Regarding comsumers' satisfaction on the colors of seat cover fabric, comsumers in their 20's were less satisfied than other age groups. Most unsatisfied consumers prefered bright colors. 2) On the materials of seat cover fabric, synthethic leather and woven were most widely used. Real leather was most prefered due to its luxury and tactile sensation. Woven was secondarily prefered due to its price and tactile sensation. About fourty percent of consumers covered the seat with other cover fabrics because of soil and other reasons. It will be useful if they could choose and change the seat cover fabircs with different materials and colors. 3) When consumers used the seat cover fabrics, the problems that they indicated were not durability and colorfastness but low breathablity during sweating, static electricity, soil, firmness, and cool sensation at the first contact.

  • This study was intended to make an inquiry into the effect of lines, shapes and colors (achromatic colors) as apparel design elements on the perceptions of facial size, brightness and shape through an empirical research based on the theories of visual perception and optical illusion that have been studied in Gestalt Psychology, which becomes the basis of apparel design principles. It was shown that the facial size was influenced by the collar size, the degree of neckline cut, and the thickness of the trimming line. The white scarf with the white jacket made the face look darkest while the black scarf with the black jacket made the face look brightest. When the neckline had the characteristic of the line contrasted with the facial shape, the oval-shaped face was perceived to be the most ideal. When the facial shape and the neckline shape were similar, the facial shape was perceived to be more highlighted.

  • The method of calculating overlap dispersion caused by group velocity mismatch between uv and visible pulses in ultrafast pump-probe experiments is presented to discuss limitations of the time resolution and signal intensity. The calculations show arrangements using a single focusing lens shall result in undesirable time resolution and low signal intensity. Achromatic doublets result in unrealistic solutions. However, dramatic improvement in the time resolution and signal intensity is expected in the optical arrangements using separate lens for each pulse and in the arrangements using a cutoff secondary lens with a main lens. lens.

  • Bauhaus, founded in Weimar, Germany in 1919, represented Modernism which is proven in the field of art as well as architecture. Furthermore, in design field, Bauhaus is the essential historical event whose influence continues in contemporary design. Bauhaus furniture is simple and austere and has linear shapes which are suitable for mass production. Bauhaus developed functional furniture design such as knock-down and pre-fabricated furniture. In terms of finishes, Bauhaus furniture epitomizes the influence of De Stijl which used either achromatic colors and three primary colors or natural finishes of wood. Bauhaus contributed to furniture design field as below. 1. Success in mass-produced furniture through standardization and pre-fabrication 2. Pioneered on industrialization through collaboration between academia and industry 3. played essential role developing modem furniture by using not only metal but also such diverse materials as plywood, glass, and leather

  • In this paper, a method is proposed for simultaneously measuring the front and back surface profiles of transparent micro-optical components. The proposed method combines a dual-wavelength digital holographic microscope with liquids to record holograms at different wavelengths, and then numerically reconstructs the three-dimensional phase information to image the front and back sides of the sample. A theoretical model is proposed to determine the surface information, and imaging of an achromatic lens is demonstrated experimentally. Unlike conventional interferometry, our proposed method supports nondestructive measurement and direct observation of both front and back profiles of micro-optical elements.

  • This paper describes a symmetric method for determining a combination of element power and optical material to design a catadioptric system with corrected color aberration and flat Petzval curvature. To graphically obtain the solutions, a glass chart containing the Abbe number, the refractive index, and the optical power, which are closely related to these aberrations, is suggested. First, we recompose an optical system as a doublet of the specific lens and an equivalent single lens, and then locate both lenses on lines that are symmetric to each other on a glass chart, through changing the lens parameters effectively. Utilizing this method, an achromatic catadioptric system with flat Petzval curvature is obtained.

  • This paper presents a new graphical method for selecting a pair of optical glasses to simultaneously achromatize and athermalize an imaging lens made of materials in contact. An athermal glass map that plots thermal glass constant versus inverse Abbe number is derived through analysis of optical glasses and plastic materials in visible light. By introducing the equivalent Abbe number and equivalent thermal glass constant, although it is a multi-lens system, we have a simple way to visually identify possible optical materials. Applying this method to design a phone camera lens equipped with quarter inch image sensor having 8-mega pixels, the thermal defocuses over $-20^{\circ}C$ to $+60^{\circ}C$ are reduced to be much less than the depth of focus of the system.

  • The purpose of this the end of 20th century fashion about various phenomenon of distopia. This study have the analysis and consideration through the elements and peculiarity of distopia. This study give us the various figures of distopia st fashion as well as the common features of distopia. The study method refers to sundry records, thesis, fashion magazine, publication, the collection works and internet. It is as follows. 'Distopia' prefix to dis of Utopia and means unknown future. Distopia trends towards future negatively. The end of 20th century, it is well brought out various cultures. Movie, novel and pop culture have effect on end of the 20th fashion with a view of distopia. It is the fear and uncertainty of the future. The characters of distopia through the works are divided into formative characteristics and aesthetics meaning. The future fashion of distopia expression mixed and various cultural life, also the mixed of utopia and distopia fashion. Distopia stimulates the designers to the new expression and expose their new areas.

  • Biochip-based diagnostic technology is an effective, time- and money-saving way of identifying Rifampin and Isoniazid resistant tuberculosis strains. In this paper, we suggest the optical system which is designed with the simple structure and has an appropriate specification for biochip analyzer including a CCD camera system. It consists of two parts with the same structure but opposite direction. each part is made by one lens, achromatic doublet and meniscus. We changed the working distance of the optical system and observed its characteristics.
