  • We have experimentally investigated the influence of wall charge configurations prior to addressing discharge on dynamic margin in AC plasma display panel. In this experiment, we have analyzed the quantity and polarity of wall charge accumulated on the front and rear dielectrics just prior to the addressing discharge under the conventional driving sequence.

  • The plasma display panel is an image expression display using gas discharge. However gas discharge characteristics vary with temperature. Furthermore, the potential difference among three electrodes appears in sustain period due to external applied voltages. It affects to the wall charge state accumulated on the electrodes. This research aims at identifying that the discharge characteristics depend on the potential difference and temperature. The results show that the wall charge loss increases with increase of the number of applied pulse during sustain period and it severely appears at high temperature.

  • The accumulation of space charge in PE/PE/PE laminates was investigated using the low density polyethylenes having different melt indices from 0.25 to 45 g/10 min. Both heterocharge and homocharge accumulated in parent polyethylenes depend on the value of melt index. A general rule found in this study was that the heterocharge decreases as the melt index increases and finally the homocharge accumulates when the melt index is very high. Because of this reason, PE laminates showed different charge formation characteristics depending on melt index of polyethylene. Details of up to date results are described in the text.

  • In this work, simultaneous measur of space charge and conduction current was c out in LDPE with air gap by Pulsed-Electro-Aco Method. Also, effect of long time charging at con electric field on the formation of space charge conduction was investigated. From the experim results. we knew that the homo space charge formed near the dielectric surfaces and moving the bulk of dielectric as the electric field elevated. This was related with the deep traps b carriers and de trapping by Poole-field lowering conduction current was coincident with the Pool emission. From the long time charging experimen obtained the results that the negative space was moving into the dielectric bulk as the cha continued and the positive space charge accumulated at upper surface of LDPE.

  • In this paper, we evaluated the effect of accumulated charges on hydrophobicity of room temperature vulcanized(RTV) silicone rubber, which could improve the contamination performance of porcelain insulators, with uv radiation time. Outdoor insulating material could be charged by the corona discharge on field intensified area of insulator and discharge between the water drops. In addition, we performed the accelerated uv radiation on samples and investigated the change of charging decay with time. In this results, it is found that silica-like structure on the surface of RTV silicone rubber was formed by uv treatments and this layer have the characteristic of retaining the charges on surface for a long time. These charges have effects on its hydrophobicity and so adversely effects on contamination performance. Based on our results, we discussed the other degradation mechanism with well known ones.

  • RIMS(Rolling Stock Information Maintenance System) was installed in structure which it can analyze the data base in need of credibility maintenance. So it could accumulate real data without repulsion of working spot. Information system was installed not following to system but following to working spot. The development of RIMS project was started from March 29, 2001 and it has been operating from October 12, 2004 in Chang-dong Car depot for light maintenance in charge subway line4. So substantial data base was accumulated for three years. This study calculated all RAMS data by analyzing data base accumulated in RIMS and used in dada base about credibility maintenance and found investigation of propriety, expectation of the life cycle cost, the improvement plan on credibility of sorts of cars and formation about the cycle of repairing and maintenance. This got MKBSF MKBF and MTBF about devices and sorts of line4 Rolling Stocks for it.

  • A switched-capacitor cyclic DAC scheme with mismatch compensation of capacitors is designed. In cyclic DAC, a little error between two capacitors is accumulated every cycle. As a result, the accumulated error influences the final analog output which is wrong data. Therefore, a mismatch compensation technique was proposed and the error can be effectively reduced, which alleviates the matching requirement. In order to verify the operation of the proposed DAC, an 8-bit switched-capacitor cyclic DAC is designed through HSPICE simulation and implemented through magna 0.18um standard CMOS process.

  • Electrostatic charge is generated in large scale or high speed processes dealing with materials with large resistance, or under complicated condition. Fire and explosion often occur due to electrostatic charge accumulated in flammable gases, vapor, liquids and powder. It is usually very difficult to verify the cause of accidents as well as the prevention. In this study, it is shown that the needle electrode needs the electrode gap from 1.8mm to 3.8mm, sphere electrode and plate electrodes need the electrode gap of 1.9mmfor the minimum ignition energy. The sphere electrode and the plate electrode requires 12.8mJ and 3.2mJ of minimum ignition energy respectively with the electrode gap of 1.1mm. The ignition voltage rises to very large value as the ground resistance increases.

  • Polyehtylene[PE] in polymer insulation materials of used power cable have carried out in abundance of experiment and study for electrical conduction. insulation breakdown. dielectric character and so on. When apply to field for power cable to make PE, application of DC withstand test to put in practice for inspection is get to effect accumulated space charge. In this paper, to make use of Pulsed Electro-Acoustic(PEA). It is analysis to take shape space charges under AC and DC voltage, clear up the point at issue for effect of DC withstand test.
