  • Objective : To investigate the potential risk of approach-related complications at different access angles in minimally invasive lateral lumbar interbody fusion. Methods : Eighty-six axial magnetic resonance images were obtained to analyze the risk of approach-related complications. The access corridor were simulated at different access angles and the potential risk of neurovascular structure injury was evaluated when the access corridor touching or overlapping the corresponding structures at each angle. Furthermore, the safe corridor length was measured when the corridor width was 18 and 22 mm. Results : When access angle was $0^{\circ}$, the potential risk of ipsilateral nerve roots injury was 54.7% at L4-L5. When access angle was $45^{\circ}$, the potential risk of abdominal aorta, contralateral nerve roots or central canal injury at L4-L5 was 79.1%, 74.4%, and 30.2%, respectively. The length of the 18 mm-wide access corridor was largest at $0^{\circ}$ and it could reach 44.5 mm at L3-L4 and 46.4 mm at L4-L5. While the length of the 22 mm-wide access corridor was 42.3 mm at L3-L4 and 44.1 mm at L4-L5 at $0^{\circ}$. Conclusion : Changes in the access angle would not only affect the ipsilateral neurovascular structures, but also might adversely influence the contralateral neural elements. It should be also noted to surgeons that alteration of the access angle changed the corridor length.

  • Traditional access control models like role-based access control model are insufficient in security needs in ubiquitous computing environment because they take no thought of access control based on user's context or environment condition. In these days, although researches on context-aware access control using user's context or environment conditions based on role-based access control are emerged, they are on the primary stage. We present context definitions md an access control model to provide more flexible and dynamic context-aware access control based on role-based access control. Specially, we describe the conflict problems occurred in the middle of making an access decision. After classifying the conflict problems, we show some resolutions to solve them. In conclusion, we will lay the foundations of the development of security policy and model assuring right user of right object(or resource) and application service through pre-defined context and context classification in ubiquitous computing environments. Beyond the simplicity of access to objects by authorized users, we assure that user can access to the object, resource, or service anywhere and anytime according to right context.

  • In this paper, we compare two access control mechanisms for D2D(Device-to-Device) systems in 5G wireless networks and propose an effective access control for 5G D2D networks. Currently, there is no specified access control for 5G D2D networks but there can be two access control approaches for 5G D2D networks. One is the UE-to-Network Relay based access control and the other is the Remote UE(User Equipment) based access control. The former is a UE-to-Network Relay carries out the access control check for 5G D2D networks but the latter is a Remote UE performs the access control check for 5G D2D networks. Through simulation and evaluation, we finally propose the Remote UE based access control for D2D systems in 5G wireless networks. The proposed approach minimizes signalling overhead between the UE-to-Network Relay and the Remote UE and more efficiently performs the access control check, when the access control functionalities are different from the UE-to-Network Relay in 5G D2D networks.

  • For activating home network, the security service is positively necessary and especially the access control supports secure home network services and differentiated services. But, the existing security technology for home network seldom consider access control or has a architecture to be dependent on specific middleware. Therefore, in this paper we propose a scheme to support integrated access control in home network to use XACML, access control standard of next generation, to have compatability and extensibility and we design and implement XACML access control system based on this. we also had m access control experiment about various policy to connect developed XACML access control system with the UPnP proxy based on OSGi in order to verify compatability with existing home network system.

  • Open access movement supports the principle that the published output of scientific research should be available to everyone without charge. The term open access is used in the broad context of the wider movement. To achieve the objectives of open access to scholarly journal literature, BOAI(Budapest Open Access Initiative) recommends using two complementary strategies: 'self-archiving' in institutional/disciplinary repositories and 'open access journals.' This study introduces the strategies of open access movements and analyzes the ways to help the cause of open access by academic stakeholders(i.e., researchers, librarians, universities, publishers, foundations, learned societies, and government) from the perspective of two BOAI strategies.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the tendency of open access income models in gratis open access journals and fee-based online journals in Korea. This study found that there was no clear difference between two groups and fee-based online journals had several of the same characteristics of open access journals. That is, the societies published fee-based journals have requested APC to authors and additional page charges for the articles with research funding. Also, in case of fee-based online journals, the journals received subsidies from external funding agencies were more than free OA journals. These findings show that fee-based online journals in Korea have a lot of capability to transition to open access journals.

  • In the IS-95 packet service system, the radio channels are generally classified into the dedicated and common traffic channels. In this paper, the performance of the common traffic channel access method is evaluated using simulation. The simulation results are compared with those of random access method. Simulation results show that the capacity can be increased up to 25% by applying the proposed common channel access method. The delay problem and variance of BER are also discussed.

  • With the contunuing trends towards an information based society, telecommunications services are becoming an integral part of social activities. So, emphasis on ISDN is growing rapidly and placed on supporting integrated services delivery of different levels to the end user. The end user’s perception of an integraged services delivery(in particular, ISDN services) should reflect three interrelated capabilities, ISDN access capabilities and ISDN network capabilities. For turning the ISDN concept of above capabilities into reality, we have implemented the experimental system on user-network interfaces, which are three kinds of implementations in user access arrangements, namely basic access, intermediate rate multiplexed access and primary rate multiplexed access. Through these implementations, NTE(Network Terminating Equipment) is used for single basic access [2B+D], IMUX (Intermediate rate Multiplexer) for 4 basic accesses [4X(2B+D)] and PMUX(Primary rate Multiplexer) for [10/12 X (2B+D)]. This paper describes the outlines of system features on user access equipments, system architectures of testbed and experiment result of each access arrangements.

  • Ubiquitous computing environment requires strong security and privacy. Access control is one of security areas. Access control on Ubiquitous computing is different from it on traditional information systems so that traditional access control models are not suitable for Ubiquitous comput-ing environment. This research defines Ubiquitous computing environment as an access control point of view, and shows requirements to consid-er for developing access control model for Ubiquitous computing environment. It also brings up three implementing types of access control on Ubiquitous computing environment.
