새로운 방식의 나사형 인공디스크 고정체 해석 (Finite Element Analysis of a Newly Designed Screw Type Fixture for an Artificial Intervertebral Disc)

  • The various total replacement artificial discs have developed because spinal fusion has shown a lesser mobility of an operated segment and an accelerated degeneration at adjacent discs. But almost artificial discs have not yet been reached on the substitute surgery of fusion because many problems such as those clinical success rates were not more than them of fusion have not solved. In this paper, vertically inserted assemble-screw fixture in vertebrae was proposed to improve the fixed capability of artificial disc. And also, to evaluate the design suitability of newly designed screw-type, including fixtures of commercial discs such as wedge and plate type, the 1/4 finite element model with a vertebra and various implanted fixtures were generated, and next, 3 bending motions such as flexion, bending and twisting under the moment of 10Nm and compression under the force of 1000N were considered, respectively and finally, FE analyses were performed. Results of three fixture types were compared, such as Range of Motion and maximal stress, and so on. For ROM, the screw type was average 58% less than the wedge type and was average 42% less than the plate type under all loading conditions. For average stress ratio at closer nodes between vertebra and each fixture, the wedge type was the lowest as minimum 0.02 in twisting, screw types were the highest as maximum 0.28 in compression. As the results of using cement material, it was predicted that the instability problem of the wedge type was better solved. The screw type which could be increased by implanting depth according to the number of assembling mid screws, showed that the decreased tendency of ROMs and maximal cancellous bone stresses. In further study, controlling the number of assembling screws that was suitable for a patient's bone quality, development of surgical tools and keeping on design supplementations, which will be able to develop the competitive artificial disc.

액정상을 이용한 O/W형 에멀젼의 제조 및 제형 안정화에 관한 연구 (Preparation and Stabilization of an O/W Emulsion Using Liquid Crystalline Phases)

  • Liquid crystalline phases were formed from acylglutamate; polyglyceryl-10 myristate and glycerine mixture and they were used as a base material for preparing an O/W emulsion. When an oil phase is added into the liquid crystalline phases, it was inserted into the dispersed liquid crystal droplets rather than stayed outside the liquid crystals, which can be known by the fact that the size of liquid crystal droplets increases with the increasing oil phase content. Along with the increase in the droplet size, the complex modulus increases from 100 to 350 pascals and the loss angle decreases from 60 to 24 degrees, from which it can be known that the increase in the internal phase volume results in the increase in the elastic property of oil in liquid crystalline-phases (O/LC). When the water phase was lastly added into the O/LC phase, the emulsification occurred to form a O/W emulsion and the averaged particle size of the O/W emulsion changes from 22.5nm to 538nm with the addition of water phase. The results from the droplet size measurements and stability tests under accelerated conditions such as high temperature show that the obtained O/W emulsion is very consistent with time.

전자제어 디젤엔진의 연료압력 레귤레이터 고장에 따른 진단 및 성능 연구 (Study on Performance of an Fuel Pressure Regulator under Failure Condition in an Electric Control Diesel Engine)

  • 배출가스 규제강화에 대응하기 위해 전자제어 디젤엔진의 적용으로 연료 분사량과 연료 분사시기를 정밀하게 제어하여 연료소비율과 출력 향상 및 소음과 진동이 감소되었다. 전자제어 디젤엔진 시스템의 성능을 유지하기 위해서는 연료압력을 정밀하게 제어하는 중요한 부품이 연료압력 레귤레이터이며 제어불량이 발생할 경우 연료압력이 정밀하게 제어되지 않아 시동불량, 시동지연, 가속불량, 엔진부조 등 이상 현상이 초래된다. 본 실험에서는 연료압력 레귤레이터의 고장에 따른 성능변화를 고찰하기 위하여 연료압력 레귤레이터 제어율에 변화를 주어 연료압력, 회수된 연료유량과 엔진회전수에 미치는 영향을 실험적으로 고찰하였다. 실험결과, 연료압력 레귤레이터의 제어율이 기준에서 4-6% 정도 낮아지면 엔진회전수, 회수되는 연료유량의 변화가 크게 나타났으며 이 때 이상현상이 발생함을 확인하였다. 또한 이를 통하여 연료압력 레귤레이터의 고장 유무을 판단할 수 있다.

Estimation of N Mineralization Potential and N Mineralization Rate of Organic Amendments as Affected by C:N Ratio and Temperature in Paddy Soil

  • Understanding N mineralization dynamics in soil is essential for efficient nutrient management. An anaerobic incubation experiment was conducted to examine N mineralization potential and N mineralization rate of the organic amendments with different C:N ratio in paddy soil. Inorganic N in the soil sample was measured periodically under three temperature conditions ($20^{\circ}C$, $25^{\circ}C$, $30^{\circ}C$) for 90 days. N mineralization was accelerated as the temperature rises by approximately $10%^{\circ}C^{-1}$ in average. Negative correlation ($R^2=0.707$) was observed between soil inorganic N and C:N ratio, while total organic carbon extract ($R^2=0.947$) and microbial biomass C ($R^2=0.824$) in the soil were positively related to C:N ratio. Single exponential model was applied for quantitative evaluation of N mineralization process. Model parameter for N mineralization rate, k, increased in proportion to temperature. N mineralization potential, $N_p$, was very different depending on C:N ratio of organic input. $N_p$ value decreased as C:N ratio increased, ranged from $74.3mg\;kg^{-1}$ in a low C:N ratio (12.0 in hairy vetch) to $15.1mg\;kg^{-1}$ in a high C:N ratio (78.2 in rice straw). This result indicated that the amount of inorganic N available for crop uptake can be predicted by temperature and C:N ratio of organic amendment. Consequently, it is suggested that the amount of organic fertilizer application in paddy soil would be determined based on temperature observations and C:N ratio, which represent the decomposition characteristics of organic amendments.

광산화(Photooxidation)에 의한 고체 상 표면 잔류농약제거에 관한 연구 (A Study of Residual Pesticide Removals on the Surface of Solid Phase Using Photooxidation Process)

  • 발암성 물질 내지는 내분비계장애물질로 인식되고 있는 농약에 대한 관심이 날로 증가함에 따라 잔류농약제거에 관한 연구의 중요성이 증대되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 과산화수소가 첨가된 광산화공정을 이용한 고체상의 표면에 잔류하는 농약의 분해에 관한 실험을 수행하였다. 카바메이트계인 베노밀과 유기염소계인 클로로타로닐을 대상으로 실험을 한 결과 파장은 350nm에서, 과산화수소의 공급은 20%에서 최적처리효율을 나타냈으며 과산화수소 또는 UV 조사를 단독적으로 적용하였을 때 그 제거효과는 미미하였으나 UV와 과산화수소를 병행하여 처리하였을 때 처리효율은 가속화되었다. 최적조건에서 20분간 반응하였을 때 고체상 표면에 잔류하는 베노밀은 약 $2{\mu}g/cm^2$이 제거되었으며, 클로로타로닐은 약$1.88{\mu}g/cm^2$이 제거되었다.

담배나방 (Heliothis assulta) 용휴면의 유기와 종료 (Initiation and Termination of Pupal Diapause in the Oriental Tobacco budworm (Heliothis assulta))

  • 담배나방 (Heliothis assulta Guenee)의 용휴면에 대한 유기와 종료요인 및 휴면 지속기간 등에 대하여 실험실과 야외개체에 대하여 실험하였다. 일장과 온도조건이 용휴면유기에 밀접한 관련을 맺으며 $20^{\circ}C$와 lOL/140의 팡주기하에서 유충율 키웠을 때 100%의 휴면율을 얻을 수 있었다. 그러나 $25^{\circ}C$의 경우에는 본 실험에서 시도한 가장 짧은 광주기인 8시간하에서도 약 85%의 휴면율만 나타내었다. 결국 휴면을 유기하는 임계일장이 $25^{\circ}C$에서는 12-12.5시간, $20^{\circ}C$에서는 14-14.5시간으로 계산되었으며 휴면유기 조건에 감응하는 발육단계는 4령과 5령유충기였다. 수원 및 우리나라 중부지역에서 9월 20일경부터 채집되는 노숙유충은 모두 휴면으로 들어갔다. 그러나 성충, 알, 용 등은 실험실내 휴면유기 조건 ($20^{\circ}C$, lOL/140)에 처리해도 아무런 반응이 없었다. 휴면기간은 휴면유기온도가 낮으면 길어지는 경향이었으며 광주기와는 무관한 것으로 나타났다. 휴면용들은 저온처리를 받지않아도 깨어나지만 저온처리 기간이 길어질수록 휴면기간은 짧아졌다.

비전도성 접착제가 사용된 플립칩 패키지의 신뢰성에 관한 연구 (Characteristics of Reliability for Flip Chip Package with Non-conductive paste)

  • 본 연구에서는 가속화 조건에서의 비전도성 접착제가 사용된 플립칩 패키지의 열적 신뢰성에 관하여 평가하였다. 실리콘 칩에 $17{\mu}m$두께의 Au 범프를 형성하고 무전해 Ni/Au 도금과 Cu 패드의 두께가 각각 $5{\mu}m$$25{\mu}m$로 형성된 연성 기판을 사용하여 플립칩 패키지를 형성하였다. 유리전이온도가 $72^{\circ}C$인 비전도성 접착제를 사용하여 플립칩을 접합시킨 후 열충격 시험과 항온항습 시험을 실시하였다. 열충격 싸이클과 항온항습 유지 시간이 증가할수록 플립칩 패키지의 전기 저항이 증가하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이는 Au 범프와 Au 범프 사이의 균열, 칩과 비전도성 접착제 또는 기판과 비전도성 접착제 사이의 층간 분리에 의한 것으로 사료된다. 또한 항온항습 하에서의 전기 저항의 변화가 열충격하에서 보다 큰 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 비전도성 접착제가 사용된 플립칩 패키지는 온도보다 습기에 더욱 민감하다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • 제초제는 현대 농업에서 필수적인 농자재이나 생리활성을 갖기에 비목적대상생물에 대한 위해성을 배제할 수 없다. 제초제의 문제점중 잔류문제는 가장 중요한 부분이며 그중 인간생활과 밀접한 관계를 갖는 토양, 농작물중의 잔류는 더욱 중요하다. 토양과 통작물중 제초제의 잔류유해성은 토양, 기상, 제초제의 사용 및 작물재배 등의 조건에 따라 현저히 변화되나, 현 시점에서 토양중 제초제의 잔류에 대한 문제점은 후작물에 대한 영향과 같은 국부적인 것을 제외하고는 거의 없으며 농작물중 난류 또한 큰 문제가 없는 것으로 사료된다. 그러나 국민건강, 토양생태계를 비롯 환경에 대한 더 높은 안전성 확보를 위하여 제초제에 대한 모니터링실험과 같은 잔류성 조사가 더 많이 요구되며 사용자는 안전사용기준을 준수해야 하겠으며 제초제개발측면에서는 보다 저독성 약제를 개발하는데 최선을 다해야 하겠다.

토양 반응조를 이용한 도금폐수 중의 질소 및 인 제거 (Nitrogen and Phosphorus Removal from Plating Wastewater Using the Soil Reactor)

  • A laboratory experiment was conducted to investigate nitrogen removal from plating wastewater by a soil reactor. A combination of soil, waste oyster shell and activated sludge were used as a loading media in a soil reactor. The addition of 20% waste oyster shell and activated sludge to the soil accelerated nitrification (88.6% ${NH_4}^{+}-N$ removal efficiency) and denitrification (84.3% ${NO_3}^{-}-N$ removal) in the soil reactor, respectively. In continuous removal, the influent ${NH_4}^{+}-N$ was mostly converted to nitrate nitrogen in the nitrification soil reactor and only a small amount of ${NH_4}^{+}-N$ was found in the effluent. When methanol was added as a carbon source to the denitrification soil reactor, the average removal efficiency of ${NO_3}^{-}-N$ significantly increased. The ${NO_3}^{-}-N$ removal by methanol addition in the denitrification soil reactor was mainly due to denitrification. The phosphorus was removed by the waste oyster shell media in the nitrification soil reactor. Moreover, the phosphorus removal in the denitrification soil reactor was achieved by synthesis of bacteria and the denitrification under anaerobic conditions. The approximate number of nitrifiers and denitrifiers was $3.3{\times}10^5\;MPN/g$ soil at a depth of $1{\sim}10\;cm$ and $3.3{\times}10^6\;MPN/g$ soil at a depth of $10{\sim}20\;cm$, respectively, in the soil reactor mixed with a waste oyster shell media and activated sludge.

만성골수성백혈병 환자의 효용가중치 비교 (Comparison of Chronic Myeloid Leukemia Patient's Utility Weights)

  • Background: Patients with chronic myeloid leukemia(CML) have different health status according to their disease conditions such as chronic phase(CP), accelerated phase(AP), blast crisis(BC), stage with MCyR(Major Cytogenetic Response); therefore, every patient has different quality of life related to their disease condition. Objectives: To measure the quality of life, this study compared and analyzed the utility weight in patients with CML. This study also evaluated the utility weight in order to view comparisons between the quality of life in a patient with CML to a patient with diabetes, which is a representative chronic disease. Methods: The disease scenario described 5 symptoms of the CP, AP, BC of the CML, the CML which gets the MCyR and the diabetes. Utility weight was developed using the EQ-5D method. All statistical data were analyzed by STATA 10.0 Results: 57 nurses(95%) out of 60 answered the questionnaire. In CP, the utility weight was 0.7946. In AP, it was 0.5301. and in BC, it was -0.2793. Survey data indicate that the worse the condition of a disease, the lower the utility weight. In case of the CML which gets the MCyR, the result was 0.7731(95% CI : 0.7384 - 0.8079). The general diabetes which has no complicating disease, the utility weight was 0.7481(95% CI : 0.6983 - 0.7978). Based on the result, it is evident that those with MCyR are not significantly different from people with general diabetes (p=0.4096) in views of the quality of life.
