Exploring the Clinical Characteristics and Comorbid Disorders of Borderline Intellectual Functioning

  • Borderline intellectual functioning (BIF) is characterized by cognitive impairment and deficits in adaptive functioning. Despite affecting a significant proportion of the population, BIF still remains underdiagnosed and poorly understood. In addition to cognitive impairments across a range of domains, individuals with BIF face a greater risk of academic failure and often require special educational support. They suffer from emotional problems, such as difficulties with emotional awareness, anxiety, depressed mood, and unhappiness. Individuals with BIF are more likely to have an impairment of social and adaptive functioning. Furthermore, individuals with BIF are at higher risk of physical and mental health problems, often receive inadequate treatment, and have a poorer prognosis. This review aims to enhance the understanding of clinicians, educators, and policymakers by providing an overview of the characteristics of BIF and its associated challenges, ultimately contributing to the improvement of support systems for individuals with BIF.

청소년기 일탈적 자아개념의 예측 요인과 성별 차이 : 잠재 상태-특성 자기회귀 모델 (latent state-trait autoregressive model)의 적용 (Predictors of Deviant Self-Concept in Adolescence and Gender Differences: Applying a Latent-State Trait Autoregressive Model)

  • 비행경험이 많을수록 자신을 비행청소년으로 인식할 것으로 예상되지만, 청소년들의 일탈적 자아개념의 변량 중 비행경험으로 인해 설명되는 변량은 비교적 작은 수준에 불과하다. 본 연구의 목적은 비행경험을 통제한 후에도, 또는 비행경험이 없음에도 불구하고 자신을 문제아 또는 비행청소년으로 인식하게 만드는 요인이 무엇인지 규명하는데 있었다. 특히 비행경험 이외에 청소년기 중요한 발달과업(성취와 관계)에서의 실패가 일탈적 자아개념과 어떠한 관계에 있는지, 더 나아가 이러한 관계에 내재한 성별 차이를 규명하는데 목적을 두었다. 한국청소년패널조사의 중2에서 고3까지 5년 종단자료에 대해 잠재 상태-특성 자기회귀 모델(latent state-trait autoregressive model)을 적용하여 일탈적 자아개념에 내포된 변동적 상태요인을 통제한 후 청소년기에 걸쳐 안정적인 특성적 일탈자아를 설명하는 예측요인이 무엇인지 알아보았다. 연구결과, 비행경험 이외에 학업성취, 친구관계 및 부모관계가 청소년기 일탈적 자아개념의 특성적 요인을 유의미하게 설명하는 것으로 나타났다. 비행경험의 효과에 유의미한 성별 차이가 나타난 바, 남자청소년에 비해 여자청소년이 비행경험으로 인해 자신을 문제아로 인식하였다. 비행경험을 통제한 후에도 학업성취 및 관계에서의 실패와 유능감 부족은 청소년기 일탈적 자아개념의 형성에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 친구관계에서의 실패는 남자보다 여자에게 더 중요한 예측요인인 반면, 학업성취에서의 실패는 남녀에게 모두 유의미한 일탈적 자아개념의 예측요인으로 나타나 한국사회의 성취지향적 가치체계와 문화가 청소년기 일탈적 자아개념에 반영되고 있음이 검증되었다

  • 소프트웨어 개발과정에서 소프트웨어 신뢰성은 매우 중요한 이슈이다. 소프트웨어 고장분석을 위한 무한고장 비동질적인 포아송과정에서 고장발생률이 상수이거나, 단조 증가 또는 단조 감소하는 패턴을 가질 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 소프트웨어 제품 테스팅 과정에서 고장 수명분포의 형상모수를 고려한 소프트웨어 신뢰성 비용 모형에 대하여 연구 하였다. 소프트웨어 신뢰성 분야에서 많이 사용되는 Lomax-NHPP 신뢰 성장 모형에 대한 비용 비교 문제를 제시하였다. 소프트웨어 고장모형은 무한고장 비동질적인 포아송과정을 이용하고 모수추정법은 최우추정법을 이용 하였다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 형상모수를 고려한 소프트웨어 비용모형 분석을 위하여 소프트웨어 고장시간 자료를 적용하여 비교 분석하였다. 대용량 소프트웨어가 수정과 변경하는 과정에서 결함의 발생을 거의 피할 수 없는 상황이 현실이다. 신뢰성 요구를 만족하고 총비용을 최소화하는 상황이 최적방출시간이다. 경우에 따라서는 왜도와 첨도 측면에서 효율적인 카파분포, 지수화지수분포 등 업데이트된 분포에 대한 방출 시기 문제를 비교 분석하는 연구도 가치 있는 일이라 판단된다. 이 연구를 통하여 소프트웨어 개발자들은 최적방출시간과 경제적 개발 비용을 파악 하는데 도움을 줄 수 있으리라 사료 된다.

주기적인 유지보수 계획에 따른 중고제품에 대한 최적 향상수준 (Optimization of Improvement Level for Second-Hand Product with Periodic Maintenance Schedule)

  • 중고제품 특히 고가인 중고품에 대한 점증하는 수요로 인하여 그러한 제품에 대한 보증과 보전정책이 최근 제품의 신뢰성을 향상시키기 위해 연구되고 있다. 이 논문에서는 사용한 년 수 x에서 고객에 의해서 구입된 중고제품에 대한 주기적인 유지보수모형을 연구하였다. 구입할 때 판매자는 제품의 고장율을 줄이기 위해서 그리고 각각의 유지보수가 수행되고 난 이후에 신뢰성을 향상시키기 위해서 정해진 보증기간을 제공한다. 만일 연속적인 유지보수 사이에서 고장이 일어난다면 단지 최소수리가 행해진다. 보증정책에 대해서 보증기간동안에 주기적인 유지보수 점검과 더불어 각 고장에 관해서는 무상 비재생수리를 한다. 따라서 이러한 보증정책 하에서 보증기간에 일어난 모든 유지보수와 수리비용은 판매자에게 부과된다. 제안된 주기적인 유비보수 계획에 대해서 보증기간 동안에 판매자에게 부과된 기대 총비용을 계산하기 위한 모형과 판매자의 측면에서 총기대보증비용을 최소화하기 위한 각 유지보수에서 고장율의 최적향상수준을 유도한다. 또한 제안된 방법들에 근거해서 최적향상수준에 대한 수치적인 결과를 제시한다.

Lessons from Haitai Distribution Inc's experience in Korea

  • Owing to the rapid growth of hypermarket/discount store formats since 1996, Korean retailing has suddenly attracted the significant attention from researchers. Before the emergence of large scale retailers such as E-Mart, Lotte Mart and Tesco Korea, there were the two retail formats who led the Korean retailing in the modern retailing history: department store and supermarket formats. Nevertheless, there has been little literature concerned about the two retail formats as a case study, while some authors have paid their attention to hypermarket/discount store formats. In addition, when mentioning the development process of retailing history, it is less likely that authors have made an effort to illustrate supermarket retailing history. In order to regard supermarket retailing as part of the Korean retailing, it is interesting to look at a representative supermarket retailer, Haitai, who was one of the subsidiaries of Haitai chaebol. Based on supermarket retailing, the company which was established as a joint venture in 1974 led a supermarket retailing in the Korean modernised retailing history. Before analysing whether Haitai failed or not, the definition of failure should be illustrated. With regard to the term, failure, in the academic world, authors have interchangeably used the following terms: failure, divestment, closure, organisational restructuring, and exit. To collect research data as a case study, the author adopted an in-depth interview method. The research is based on research interviews with 13 ex-staff who left after Haitai went bankruptcy, from store management department to merchandise department. By investigating Haitai's experiences through field interviews, the research found that Haitai restructured organisational decision-making process at the early stage when companies started to modernise organisational charts, benchmarking sophisticated retailing knowledge through the strategic alliance with a Japanese retailer. In respect of buying system, the company established firmly buying functions by adopting central buying system, and further, outstandingly allocated considerable marketing resources to the development of retailer brands with the dedicated team of retailer brand development. In the grocery retailing, abandoning a 'no-frill' packaging concept, the introduction of retailer brand packaging equal to, or better than national brand packaging design, encouraged other retailers to change their retailer brand development strategies. In product sourcing ways, Haitai organised for the first time the overseas sourcing team with the aim of improving the profit margins of foreign products and providing exotic products for customers, followed by other retailers. Regarding distribution system, the company introduced the innovative idea which delivered products ordered by stores directly to each store withboth its own vehicles and its own warehouse in which could deal with dry foods, chilly foods, frozen food, and non-foods, and even, process produce. In addition, Haitai developed many promotional methods to attract more customers like 'the guarantee of the lowest price', and expanded its own business to US in 1996, although withdrew, because of bankruptcy in 1997. Together with POS introduction in 1994, Haitai made a significant contribution to the development of the Korean retailing, influencing other retailers in many aspects. As a case study, the study has provided a number of lessons from Haitai's experiences for academicians and practitioners, suggesting that its history should be involved in the Korean modernised retailing.

호텔 인적 자원 효율적 관리 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on Human Resources Management for Hotel Kitchen)

And hotel companys were doing endeavor for conquer this depression with reshuffle of the personnal system and that systematizing an enterprise and production control. Hotel has more increase personnel expenses percents than increase sold price percents so that hotel reducing cook and as result, hotel has a problem from production selling of food service because that is insufficient of cook man power. On studying this research, an importancy of cusine department in inquire hotel and an efficiency man power control of cusine department influence on hotel marketing were made use of analysis for hotel kitchen management. The result of this study is like that. First, the quality of a hotel employee is directly related to that of hotel service, which is functioned as a principle factor on which success or failure of the hotel very largely depends. Second, fair evaluation of merits. Third, cognition for job as expert. Fourth, the roles and competences of the employees were affected much by the inner or outer environmental changes surrounding the hotel enterprises. Fifth, do not underestimate an intelligent ability and will power of employee, and hotel company have to manage that the employees consult themselves about their things of department and improve with the master sense for job. Sixth, pay increase and intensive system. This system can raise the will to achievement for employee's job, and company can get many benefits from government. Seventh, the employees should be encouraged to have memberships of academic organizations, to actively participate in academic meetings, workshops, conferences, and forums in the area of job performance.

임상 간호교육 평가의 문제점과 개선방안 (Problems and Solving Strategies on Student Evaluation of Clinical Nursing Education)

  • The purpose of this descriptive study was to identify problems and solving strategies on student evaluation of clinical nursing education. Subjects were 239 nurses in 18 hospitals from February to July, 1999. Content analysis using qualitative research method was used to analyze data taking into account the semi-structured questionnaire. The results of this study were as follows: Four categories about problems and solving strategies on the evaluation of clinical nursing education were identified: 'The environment of the clinical nursing education'; 'contents and items of evaluation tool'; 'criteria of evaluation tool'; and 'problems with evaluators in clinical settings'. The problems of the environment of the clinical nursing education were due to the lack of co-ordination between nursing schools and hospitals. In order to solve these problems, the following strategies were suggested: 'initiate a joint meeting between nursing schools and hospitals'; 'do not change the clinical settings frequently'; 'evaluate students after being familiar with them'; and 'evaluate them immediately after clinical practice was ended'. In the problems of contents and items of the evaluation tool, the contents of the tool were very abstract and general. The strategies for treating these problems were to evaluate student using the concrete evaluation items'; refrain from evaluation of nursing knowledge', develop the evaluation tools that are fit for a specific clinical setting'; develop the evaluation tools in line with students' knowledge level; and 'carry out evaluation using the proper contents of tool. The problems of criteria of the evaluation tools were the results of the lack of the clear criteria. The strategies for treating these problems were 'develop the criteria of the evaluation tool'; simplify the range of the cores or evaluate students using check-list'; to evaluate students in objective manner'. The problem of evaluators in clinical settings was due to the failure by evaluators who were not prepared for the task. The strategies were 'to educate and prepare the evaluators before evaluation'.

텍스트 마이닝을 활용한 영화흥행 예측 연구 (Study on prediction for a film success using text mining)

  • 최근 빅 데이터는 학계에서 키워드로 자리매김을 하고 있다. 빅 데이터의 유용성은 학계뿐만 아니라 정부, 지자체 그리고 기업체까지 파급되고 있고, 빅 데이터 속에서 유용한 정보를 도출해 내기 위해 노력하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 영화에 대한 리뷰를 가지고 텍스트 마이닝 (text mining)을 이용한 빅 데이터 분석을 수행한다. 본 연구의 목적은 포털 사이트 'D'사와 영화진흥위원회의 영화에 대한 리뷰 데이터, 그리고 고객들의 평점평균 (score)과 스크린 수 (screen number)를 설명변수로 사용하고, 영화 흥행 여부를 종속변수로 하여 로지스틱 회귀분석을 통한 영화 흥행 예측 모형을 제안하는 것이다. 분석결과, 본 연구에서 제안한 예측모형의 정분류율은 95.74%로 얻어졌다.

의과대학 과정 중 제적과 군복무를 경험한 학생들에 대한 내러티브 연구 (A Narrative Inquiry of Medical Students' Experiences of Expulsion and Military Service)

  • The aim of this study was to use narrative inquiry to explore the experiences of medical students who faced expulsion, military service, and readmission, and their journeys of identity formation. Three medical students were recruited via snowball sampling, and each participant was interviewed twice. According to the sequence of experiences, their stories were summarized as follows: the process of being expelled, the military service experience and readmission process, and the present. Before all three students were expelled, they lived dissolute lives free of concern from the entrance examination and failed to cope well with dropping out. They felt that military experience had helped them develop interpersonal skills in the clinical setting and the strength to withstand a difficult crisis. Two students were motivated to become doctors after military service, but the other was not. They had reflected deeply over their unique experiences. The scars imprinted from their experiences became a means of stimulation, and they ultimately acquired the resilience and ability to accommodate for and counteract their weaknesses. This appears to have been an important influence on their identity formation. The narrations of their rare experiences can help medical educators more fully understand and support medical students through difficulties, specifically with regard to academic failure or expulsion. These findings may prompt medical professors to think about the kind of guidance or motivation that could help students before expulsion, rather than assuming that they are simply lacking academic ability.
