  • One of the most active areas of research in the field of affective computing and signal processing is emotion recognition. This paper proposes emotion recognition of low-resource (Sindhi) language. This work's uniqueness is that it examines the emotions of languages for which there is currently no publicly accessible dataset. The proposed effort has provided a dataset named MAVDESS (Mehran Audio-Visual Dataset Mehran Audio-Visual Database of Emotional Speech in Sindhi) for the academic community of a significant Sindhi language that is mainly spoken in Pakistan; however, no generic data for such languages is accessible in machine learning except few. Furthermore, the analysis of various emotions of Sindhi language in MAVDESS has been carried out to annotate the emotions using line features such as pitch, volume, and base, as well as toolkits such as OpenSmile, Scikit-Learn, and some important classification schemes such as LR, SVC, DT, and KNN, which will be further classified and computed to the machine via Python language for training a machine. The Study on Compulsive Buying as Self-Defeating Behavior : Focused on Social Exclusion Factor

  • Purpose - This study investigated the effect of the social exclusion experience on the compulsive buying tendency. The purpose of current study is to examine the mechanism through compulsive buying, one of selfdefeating behaviors. While previous studies on compulsive buying focused only on the mechanism of psychological escapism to overcome negative emotions, this study intends to expand the study on the causes of compulsive buying by presenting a social exclusion experience as one of the causes of negative emotions. Research design and methodology - Present study was performed with 114 university students. Participants were assigned to one of two groups at random - the social exclusion experience group and the social exclusion nonexperience group. Authors analyzed the influence of social exclusion experience on the compulsive buying. Results - The social exclusion experience group showed compulsive buying tendency than the social exclusion non-experience group. Conclusions - People with social exclusion experiences avoid self-awareness and show cognitive narrowing, which leads to compulsive buying. Academic implications and practical implications of current research were discussed and the limitations were suggested.

아토피 피부염 청소년의 수면만족감 영향요인 (Influencing Factors on Sleep Satisfaction among Korean Adolescents with Atopic dermatitis)

  • Purpose: This study investigated sleep satisfaction and influencing factors in Korean adolescents with atopic dermatitis. Methods: Data were obtained from 4,570 subjects who completed the 2017 13th Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey. For data analysis, descriptive statistics and multiple-sample logistic regression were used. Results: The results of this study were as follows. Gender, academic achievement, economic status, perceived stress, happiness, health status, and depression in the subjects showed a significant difference in terms of sleep satisfaction in atopic adolescents. Multiple-sample logistic regression analysis showed that male adolescents (odds ratio (OR)=0.48), academic achievement (low OR=0.67, middle OR=0.78), economic status (low OR=0.50, middle OR=0.64), lack of depression (OR=0.63), perceived stress (very OR=4.65, a little OR=2.25), perceived happiness (unhappy OR=1.99, moderate OR=1.22), perceived health status (unhealthy OR=2.17, ordinary OR=1.35), alcohol nondrinking (OR=0.75), and nonsmoking (OR=0.73) were not associated with sleep satisfaction. Conclusion: It is necessary to develop interventions that can relieve stress management and depression and develop positive emotions in atopic adolescents. In addition, there is a need to improve the environment to avoid health risks such as alcohol consumption and smoking and to minimize the effects of passive smoking.

대학생의 학업성취도 예측요인 연구 : J 대학을 중심으로 (A Study on Predictors of Academic Achievement in College Students : Focused on J University)

  • 본 연구는 대학생의 학업성취 예측모형을 구축하여, 각 요인간의 상호관계와 상대적 영향력을 밝히는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 J 대학 재학생 1,310명의 학습자 개인요인과 학습전략 요인을 설문하였으며, 그 결과를 데이터마이닝 기법인 의사결정나무 분석을 통하여 학업성취 예측요인의 변별과 패턴을 분석하고, 각 요인의 상대적 영향력을 살펴보기 위한 이항 로지스틱 분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 학업성취를 예측하는 가장 중요한 요인은 효능감으로 나타났으며, 이외 학습동기, 시간관리, 우울이 학업성취를 예측하는 요인으로 나타났다. 학업성취를 예측하는 요인의 패턴은 효능감과 시간관리 수준이 높은 경우와 효능감이 중간 수준이더라도 학습동기가 높은 경우로 나타났다. 효능감과 학습동기가 낮거나 우울이 높은 경우 학업성취를 감소시키는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 대학생의 학업성취 향상을 위한 효능감과 학습동기 향상, 시간관리 교육 강화, 부정적 정서 관리 등을 제안하였다.

긍정적, 부정적 쇼핑감정이 쇼핑가치와 인터넷 의류 쇼핑사이트 접근행동에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Positive and Negative Emotions on Shopping Value and Approach Behaviors of the Internet Apparel Shopping Site)

  • 본 연구에서는 인터넷 쇼핑 사이트를 이용하여 의류 구매시 느끼는 긍정적, 부정적 감정이 쾌락적, 실용적 가치지각에 미치는 영향과, 이러한 쾌락적, 실용적 가치지각이 점포접근행동에 미치는 영향관계를 연구하였다. 이 연구를 위하여 Babin and Attaway가 오프라인 쇼핑 사이트 연구에 활용한 연구모형을 인터넷 쇼핑상황에 적용하여 연구모형을 제시하고 실험자료를 통하여 검증하였다. 인터넷 쇼핑몰을 통해 의류상품을 쇼핑하는 과업을 수행하고 제시된 설문 문항에 응답하도록 하는 실험을 실시하여 278명의 결과가 통계분석에 이용되었으며 탐색적/확인적 요인분석과 Amos 6.0을 활용한 구조방정식 모형 검증을 실시하였다. 구조방정식 모형검증 결과 인터넷 의류 쇼핑 사이트에 대해 부정적인 감정을 많이 느낄수록 사이트에 대한 쾌락적, 실용적 가치지각이 낮았으며, 긍정적인 감정을 많이 느낄수록 사이트에 대한 쾌락적, 실용적 가치지각이 높았다. 이렇게 지각된 인터넷 의류쇼핑사이트의 쾌락적, 실용적 가치는 태도에 긍정적인 영향을 미치나, 재방문의도에는 실용적 가치만이 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 이론적, 실무적 시사점들이 제시되었다.

COVID-19으로 인한 보건계열 대학생의 비대면 수업 만족도 관련 요인 (Factors related to satisfaction with non-face-to-face classes of health science students due to COVID-19 pandemic)

  • Objectives: To investigate the perceived quality of classes, academic emotions, and learning achievement levels associated with the non-face-to-face classes of health science students, and to analyze the factors related to class satisfaction. Methods: Using a questionnaire, 238 health science students were surveyed regarding the quality of classes, academic emotions, and learning achievement levels. Factors related to calss satisfaction were analyzed using stepwise multiple regression. Results: Lecture types that the students were most satisfied with were 'video lectures using PPT' and 'recorded lectures provided by LMS', while 'real-time video lectures' were scored the lowest (p=0.005). Factors affecting non-face-to-face class satisfaction were perceived achievement (β=0.425, p<0.001), learning content (β=0.265, p<0.001), learning emotion (β=0.171, p<0.001), and learning environment (β=0.137, p=0.012). The adjusted explanatory power for this model was 63.9%. Conclusions: To increase the satisfaction of health science students with non-face-to-face classes, it is necessary to prepare an institutional foundation and to develop an educational program that can increase perceived achievement.

The Effect of Post-Purchase Discount Format on Consumers' Perception of Loss and Willingness to Return

  • Price discount is one of the commonly used promotion strategies to increase sales and revenue. If a discount is perceived before the purchase (i.e., pre-purchase discount), consumers are likely to perceive it as a potential gain. If it is noticed after making a regular-priced purchase (i.e., post-purchase discount), consumers may develop negative emotions and attitudes. Based on the rising transparency and omnipresence of price and discount information through web and mobile platforms, we attempt to tackle an understudied topic on the negative effect of post-purchase price discount. Specifically, post-purchase discount information may increase consumers' perception of monetary loss, which may affect consumers' decision to return the product, potentially increasing the operating costs borne by retailers. Based on a close scrutinization of the current market environment and previous academic literature, we suggest a novel conceptual framework to understand consumers' perception, attitude, and behavior (perception of loss, willingness to return) upon perceiving various formats of discount promotion (absolute value vs. percentage discount) posterior to the purchase of a product. We also look at the effect of price level (low-priced vs. high-priced). For marketing practitioners, we intend to suggest optimal promotion formats that can alleviate consumers' negative perceptions and prevent additional operation costs.

아동의 삶의 질에 대한 개념 분석 (A Concept Analysis of the Quality of Life for the Children)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to attempt an accurate understanding of the quality of life for the children and provide basic materials for application to nursing research, intervention and further theoretical development. Method: Data obtained from such research methods as the lexical and literature review were analysed according to Walker and Avant's(1995) process of concept analysis. Results: As a result of analysis, it was found that the attributes of the concept of the quality of life for the children included value/acceptance, family relationship, safety, good relationship with friends, right of children, school life, parent relationship, leisure, economical stability, not child abuse, and health. There was the coexistence between antecedent element and the outcomes of subjective judgement - health, family, economic strength, education, friends, welfare, social-cultural environment which indicates the coexistence of positive and negative emotions. Conclusion: nursing intervention should be provided for children by concentrating focus on the coordination of internal and external situations in order to prompt them to express their life with positive emotions. Experiential reference was used to suit the purpose of this study based on the use of objective and subjective indicators, and the development of the instrument considering the children were proposed because of the absence of the unified measurement instrument.

대인서비스 종사자의 심리사회적 작업조건과 심리적 건강수준에 관한 성별 비교 (Gender Differences in Psychosocial Working Conditions and Psychological Well-being among Korean Interactive Service Workers)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between psychosocial working conditions and psychological well-being depending on the gender among Korean interactive service workers. Methods: This study was a secondary analysis of the data extracted from the 2011 Korean Working Conditions Survey. For the present analysis, 15,669 workers who interact with others at work were selected. Based on the existing literature, a set of variables was chosen from the KWCS. Psychological well-being was measured using the WHO-5 well-being index. Results: The prevalence of poor psychological well-being was significantly higher among men (43.1%) than women (39.6%). Women were more likely to be exposed to demands for hiding emotions, bullying, and discrimination, whereas men were more likely to be exposed to psychological job demands, cognitive demands, demands for responsibility, role conflict and long working hours. Most factors were associated with poor well-being among women and men except demands for hiding emotions, skill discretion and development, physical violence, and sexual harassment. Conclusion: Based on these results, some practical suggestions are offered to help interactive service workers adjust to their duties.

패션테라피 효과 유지에 대한 질적 접근 (Qualitative Approach to Maintaining the Effect of Fashion Therapy)

  • Previous studies on the effect of fashion therapy have been conducted with psychiatric patients; however, this study explores the effects in fashion therapy for women with non-pathological problems. Previous studies did show if the effect of fashion therapy could be maintained continuously; therefore, we intend to examine the existence of the long-term effects of fashion therapy in an empirical manner and provide implications for social and public interest. This study used a qualitative approach to investigate the effects of fashion therapy with the following results. Low self-esteem, negative emotions, and rigid thinking symptoms appeared by numerous stress factors, and various changes were made through fashion therapy. Emotional changes such as positive emotions and feeling of achievement, and psychological changes including self-concept formation, change of sight and self-esteem improvement appeared. Sociological and behavioral changes were also identified. We found the maintained and long term effects of fashion therapy; therefore, study provides academic implications to reconsider the social value of fashion.
