X65 및 X70강 가스배관의 DWTT 및 파괴인성평가 (Estimation of fracture toughness of X65 and X70 steels by DWTT)

  • 실 배관을 평가하는 DWTT (Drop Weight Tearing Test)의 파괴인성 값은 실 배관의 파괴인성 값 및 연성취성천이 온도를 예측할 수 있는 실험방법이므로, 최근 DWTT의 값에 대한 중요성이 증가되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 API X70과 API X65 라인파이프강의 DWTT 후의 온도에 따른 연성파면율, 역파면율, 흡수에너지와 온도 $-60^{\circ}C$~상온)와의 관계를 비교분석 하고자 하였다. X65과 X70의 값에서 마찬가지로 연성파면율 및 흡수에너지는 온도가 낮아질수록 함께 낮아지는 경향을 보였으며, X70의 경우에는 $-40^{\circ}C$ 까지 연성파괴를 보이는 반면, X65는 $-30^{\circ}C$ 까지 연성파괴를 보였다.

  • The effects of alloying elements and the cooling condition on the microstructure, tensile properties, and Charpy impact properties of high-strength bainitic steel plates fabricated by a controlled rolling process were investigated in the present study. Eight kinds of steel plates were fabricated by varying C, Cr, and Nb additions under two different cooling rates, and their microstructures and tensile and Charpy impact properties were evaluated. The microstructures present in the steels increased in the order of granular bainite, acicular ferrite, bainitic ferrite, and martensite as the carbon equivalent or cooling rate increased, which resulted in a decrease in the ductility and Charpy absorbed energy. The steels containing a considerable amount of bainitic ferrite or martensite showed very high strengths, together with good ductility and Charpy absorbed energy. In order to achieve the best combination of strength, ductility, and Charpy absorbed energy, granular bainite and acicular ferrite were properly included in the high-strength bainitic steels by controlling the carbon equivalent and cooling rate, while about 50 vol.% of bainitic ferrite or martensite was maintained to maintain the high strength.

  • This study is concerned with the correlation between microstructure and mechanical properties in heat affected zones (HAZs) of API X80 pipeline steels containing complex oxides. Three kinds of specimens were fabricated by varying alloying elements of Ti, Al, and Mg to form complex oxides, and their microstructures, Vickers hardness, Charpy impact properties were investigated. The number of complex oxides increased as the excess amount of Ti, Al, and Mg was included in the steels. The simulated HAZs containing a number of oxides showed a high volume fraction of acicular ferrite region because oxides acted as nucleation sites for acicular ferrite. According to the correlation study between thermal input, volume fraction of acicular ferrite region, and Charpy impact properties, the ductile fracture occurred predominantly when the volume fraction of acicular ferrite region was 65% or higher, and the Charpy absorbed energy was excellent over 200 J. When the volume fraction of acicular ferrite region was 35% or lower, the Charpy absorbed energy was poor below 50 J as the brittle cleavage fracture occurred. These findings suggested that the active nucleation of acicular ferrite in the oxide-containing steel HAZs was associated with the great improvement of Charpy impact properties of the HAZs.

고 에너지 전자선에 대한 공기커마와 물 흡수선량에 기반한 프로토콜간의 비교 (Comparison of Air Kerma­based and Absorbed Dose to Water­based Protocols in the Dosimetry of High Energy Electron Beams)

  • 흡수선량 측정의 정확성을 향상시키기 위하여 기존의 공기커마 혹은 조사선량 표준에서 물 흡수선량 표준으로 선량측정의 패러다임이 변화하고 있다. 본 연구는 기존의 프로토콜에서 물 흡수선량 기반의 프로토콜로의 전환을 모색하는 입장에서 현재 임상에서 널리 사용하고 있는 IAEA TRS­277과 물 흡수선량 표준에 토대를 두고 있는 IAEA TRS­398 및 AAPM TG­51 프로토콜에 대하여 동일한 기준깊이에서 물 흡수선량을 측정하여 상호 비교하였다. Varian 2100 C/D 선형가속기로부터의 세 종류의 전자선 에너지에 대해 PTW 30002 원통형 이온함과 Markus 및 Roos 평행평판형 이온함을 사용하여 측정하였고 $^{60}$Co에서의 공기커마 및 물 흡수선량 교정정수는 식품의약품안전청으로부터 받아 사용하였다. 공기커마 표준에 기반한 프로토콜과 물 흡수선량 표준에 기반한 프로토콜간에는 2% 이내의 차이를 보임으로써 사용자 기관에서는 자체적인 확인을 거쳐 공기커마 기반의 프로토콜에서 물 흡수전량 기반 프로토콜로의 전환을 적극 검토해 볼 필요가 있다. 물 흡수선량 기반의 프로토콜간에는 원통형 이온함의 경우 0.5% 이내에서 잘 일치하였고 평행평판형 이온함의 경우에도 고 에너지 전자선을 이용한 교차 교정을 하면 0.7% 이내에서 잘 일치하였다. 사용한 모든 프로토콜과 전자선 에너지에 대해 원통형 이온함과 평행평판형 이온함간에는 2% 이내의 차이를 보였으나 선량측정의 정확성을 향상시키기 위해 물 흡수선량 표준에 기반한 프로토콜의 권고에 따라서 하한에너지 이하의 전자선의 경우는 원통형 이온함 대신에 평행평판형 이온함을 사용함이 타당하다고 사료된다.

전자선 가교된 PBT의 충격 특성 및 내마모 특성 연구 (The Impact Properties and Wear Resistance of Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) Cross-linked by Electron Beam Irradiation)

  • Poly(butylenes terephthalate) have made large strides in applications of injection, extrusion, and molding material due to their excellent thermal resistance and appropriate mechanical properties. However, PBT was not hard polymer but a soft polymer which caused low absorption of external energy and the defect of being easily broken with the strong impact. Thus, the electron beam irradiation was carried out over a range of irradiation doses from 100 to 1,000 kGy for enhancing the properties. The decreases of $T_m$, $T_c$, and enthalpy were observed as increasing the absorbed dose in the results of DSC analysis. The improvement in the impact strength of PBT was clearly observed as the absorbed dose was increased. This was probably due to the 3-dimensional network structures, resulting in increasing the absorption of impact energy. In addition, the wear properties had increased at higher than 300 kGy. The negative deviation of weight loss confirmed the improvement of the wear properties of PBT, as evidenced by SEM observation on the wear surfaces.

다채널 태양열 흡수기의 열전달 해석을 위한 집광 열유속 모델링 (Concentrated Solar Flux Modeling for the Heat Transfer Analysis of Multi-Channeled Solar Receivers)

  • The volumetric solar receiver is a key element of solar power plants using air. The solar flux distribution inside the receiver should be a priori known for its heat transfer analysis. Previous works have not considered characteristics of the solar flux although they change with radiative properties of receiver materials and receiver geometries. A numerical method, which is based on the Monte Carlo ray-tracing method, was developed in the current work. The solar flux distributions inside multi-channeled volumetric solar receivers were calculated when light is concentrated at the KIER solar furnace. It turned out that 99 percentage of the concentrated solar energy is absorbed within 15mm channel length for the channel radius smaller than 1.5mm. If the concentrated light is assumed to be diffuse, the absorbed solar energy at the channel entrance region is over predicted while the light penetrates more deeply into the channel. Once the presented results are imported into the heat transfer analysis, one could examine effects of material property and geometry of the receiver on air temperature profiles.

내후성강재의 화학성분 및 기계적성질에 관한 통계적 분석 (A Statistical Analysis on the Chemical Compositions & Mechanical Properties of Weathering Steels)

  • 최소유지관리의 LCC관점에서 강구조물에의 적용이 증가하고 있는 내후성강재를 대상으로 Mill Sheet를 수집하고 이를 통계적으로 분석하여 화학성분, 기계적성질, 용접성지수, Weathering Index 및 충격흡수에너지에 대해 정량적으로 조사하였다. 본 연구결과 국내에서 생산되고 있는 내후성강재의 화학성분, 기계적 성질 및 충격흡수에너지는 분산의 폭이 약간 크게 나타났으며 KS에서 규정하는 기준값을 충분히 만족하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또, 용접성지수 및 Weathering Index는 일본 도로교시방서 및 ASTM의 기준을 만족하고 있는 것으로부터 국내 내후성강재의 품질을 확인 할 수 있었다.

수소장입시킨 590 MPa DP강의 표면층 물성변화에 관한 수소의 영향 (The Effect of Hydrogen on the Variation of Properties at the Surface Layers of 590 MPa DP Steels Charged with Hydrogen)

  • It was investigated that the effects of hydrogen charging on the properties of 590 MPa Dual Phase(DP) steels at the surface layers. The hydrogen-charging time was changed from 5 to 50 hours and current densities from 100, 150, and 200 $mA/cm^2$, respectively. It was found that the hydrogen content in the specimen was increased with as the charging time and the current density. The microvickers hardness of the subsurface zone was increased from 215.3 HV to 239.5 HV due to the increase in current density and charging time. The comparison of the absorbed energies tested by a small-punch (SP) test showed that the absorbed energy of the specimen was greatly reduced from 436 to 283 $kgf-mm^2$ because of hydrogen embrittlement. It was confirmed that bulb aspects of fracture surface became more brittle with increasing hydrogen content.

LPG선 탱크용 FH 강재 FCAW 용접금속의 인장성질과 충격인성에 미치는 후열처리의 영향 (Effects of PWHT on Tensile Properties and Impact Toughness of FCAW Weld Metal of FH Steels for Cargo Tank in LPG Carrier)

  • This paper has an aim to study the effect of PWHT and its conditions(peak temperature and holding time) on the tensile properties and impact toughness of FCAW weld metal in relation to microstructure. Impact toughness was evaluated to apply the cargo tank of liquified gas carriers under the various PWHT condition of each class societies. On the basis of these study, it was found that PWHT conditions within all class societies affect charpy absorbed energy of weld metal little or no, all PWHT weld metals kept similar level of charpy absorbed energy as as-weld weld metal down-to $-60^{\circ}C$ and finally indicated lower energy value than that of as-weld weld metal at $-75^{\circ}C$. It is because the precipitation of 2nd phase was controlled from welding consumable and the grain size was grown by PWHT.

사출금형기계용 앵귤러핀의 충격시험에 따른 파손분석과 와이블 통계 해석 (Failure Analysis and Weibull Statistical Analysis according to Impact Test of the Angular Pin for Injection Molding Machines)

  • In this study, failure analysis of the angular pin for molding machines to aluminum component molding was carried out. SM45C steel was used for the angular pin, it was surface hardened by the induction surface hardening heat treatment. The cross section of damaged angular pin was observed, and micro Vickers hardness value from the fractured part was measured. Brittle fracture was occurred from the fracture surface of angular pin, therefore, impact toughness value was evaluated by V-notch Charpy impact test. It was confirmed that the impact absorption energy was high when was tempered at a high temperature for a long time, and the toughness was slightly increased. Also, 2-parameter Weibull statistical analysis was investigated in order to evaluate the reliability of the measured micro Vickers hardness values and absorbed energy. The micro Vickers hardness and absorbed energy well followed a two-parameter Weibull probability distribution, respectively. The reverse design against angular pin was proposed as possible by using test results.
