Cordyceps is a genus of ascomycete fungi and is well known as one of the important medical fungi in Chinese, Korea, and other Asian countries, because of its various beneficial effects on human health. The pharmacological activities of Cordyceps extract are mainly focused on anti-cancer, anti-metastatic, and immune modulating effects. In the present study, we investigated whether the antiplatelet effect of ethanol extract of cultured Cordyceps militaris (CMEE) with FeCl₃-induced arterial thrombosis model. We observed that CMEE exhibited a significant inhibitory effect against ADP and collagen-induced platelet aggregation. However, there were no significant differences in prothrombin time (PT) and activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT). These results suggest that antithrombotic activity of CMEE is related to antiplatelet effect rather than anticoagulation effect, and CMEE may be a positive effect on improving blood circulation against vessel injury and occlusion.

In this study, a new method that can estimate ICG data from a subject's both hands to measure Cardiac Output under convenient sensor environment. With this aim, a grip-type electrode was implemented to measure ICG. To improve the accuracy of measurement, the regression equation was extracted using multiple bio-parameters and our result was compared with the thoracic ICG equipment(Physio Flow$^{(R)}$, PF104D, Manatec Biomedical, France), which is being used in clinics. The subjects consist of 26 men and 4 women(age in $22.0{\pm}3.32$). They are no cardiac disease. Parameters available for regression model were used gender, BMI, MBP, LVET, dZ/dt(max), distance between the measured electrodes, body impedance, and PTT. As a result of analyzing the ICG measurement value on thorax and both hands, the correlation with stroke volume, heart rate, and cardiac output was $R^2$=0.853, $R^2$=0.958 and $R^2$=0.899, respectively.

The accidents occurred by unstable material which is easily exploded or burnt up were caused by heat and collision under the condition of relatively low temperature without oxygen, have been reported frequently. However, the amount of the unstable material is getting higher by development of fine ceramic research area even though its dangerous characteristic is disregarded. This research studied a heat stability and measured boiling point of various carpet material. Carpet has been used in home as well as general indoor usage. Now a day, carpet material which is hardly burnt has been on commercial, but its detailed unstable conditions is not mentioned. This research reports the measurement of the initial temperature of generation heat and heat-radiation change on differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). The DSC data of nylon bulked continuous filament (N-BCF) yam 100%, nylon (NY), poly propylene (PP), and a new material named polytrimethylene terephthalate (PTT) are studied and researched about the effect of them using TGA, furnace, and direct-burning experiment.

Selectins are carbohydrate-binding cell adhesion molecules that play a major role in the initiation of inflammatory responses. Heparin can bind to P-selectin, and its anti-inflammatory property is mainly due to inhibition of P-selectin. However, the strong anticoagulant activity of heparin limits its clinical use. We prepared periodate-oxidized, borohydride-reduced heparin (RO-heparin) by chemical modification and tested its anticoagulant and anti-inflammatory activities. Activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT) assays showed that, compared with heparin, RO-heparin had greatly reduced anticoagulant activity. Intravenous administration of this compound led to reduction in the peritoneal infiltration of neutrophils in a mouse acute inflammation model. In vitro cell adhesion experiments demonstrated that the effect of RO-heparin on inflammatory responses was mainly due to inhibiting the interaction of P-selectin with its ligands. These results indicate that RO-heparin may be a safer treatment for inflammation than heparin, especially when selectin is targeted.

In this paper, we present a new methodology to analyze the characteristics of artery by using 4 channels photophethysmography. The proposed parameter is a time difference of pulse transit time (PTT) between pulse waves at finger site and at toe site. As the results of experiments, the change of parameter was found according to ages. The result of regression analysis about relationships between the parameter and ages for n=51, the coefficient of correlation of non-normalized data has -0.79770 in left side and -0.80599 in right side and the coefficient of correlation of normalized data by height has -0.81345 in left side and -0.81605 in right side.

Purpose: Purpose: The prognostic factors of non-operative management (NOM) in high-grade spleen injuries have been extensively studied, but factors that would help treatment decisions are lacking. We compared the characteristics of the patients to identify the factors affecting treatment choices. Methods: This is a review of 207 blunt spleen injury patients from January 2004 to December 2013. We compared clinical features and mortality between surgery and NOM, and used multivariate regression analysis to find the factor most strongly associated with prognosis. Results: Of the 207 patients, 107 had high-grade spleen injury patents (grade III or above). Of these, 42 patients underwent surgery and 65 patients underwent NOM. The mortality was 7% following surgery, 3% with NOM. The amount of packed red blood cells transfused in the first 24 hours and spleen injury grade were associated with management type, and mortality was highly associated with activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT) and spleen injury grade. Conclusions: The grade of spleen injury was associated with management and mortality, so correctly assessing the spleen injury grade is important.

Coking accumulations via dry methane reforming (DMR) over 10NAM monolithic catalyst and pelletized catalyst was investigated. 10NAM catalyst was synthesized and coated on a wall of monolithic reactor. Pelletized catalyst of 10NAM was also prepared for the comparison. Consequently, catalyst was characterized by BET, $H_2-TPR$ and $H_2-TPD$. The catalytic reaction was undergone at $600^{\circ}C$ under atmospheric pressure and $CH_4$ to $CO_2$ reactant ratio of 1:2. The coking formation over spent catalyst was then carried out in the hydrogen flow using temperature programmed technique (TPH). According to the results, DMR over 10NAM monolithic catalyst exhibits a minimized coking formation comparing to the use of pelletized catalyst. This could be attributed to a prominent heat transfer efficiency of the monolithic catalyst.

혈전 관련 질환 예방 및 혈류개선 기능성 식품의 개발을 목표로, 식용 및 약용 산채류 55종의 메탄을 추출물을 조제한 후 트롬빈 저해활성을 검색하였다. 그 결과, 대조군으로 사용된 아스피린보다 우수한 항혈전 활성을 나타내는 붉나무, 사삼, 우산나물, 쥐다래, 참나물, 할미밀망, 큰까치수영, 첫버들 추출물 등 8종을 선별하였으며, aPTT, 혈전 용해활성, 열 안정성, 기타 소화효소 저해활성 등을 평가하며 참나물, 큰까치수영 및 갯버들 추출물을 최종 선별하였다. 참나물의 경우 열안정성이 낮은 반면 소화효소 비저해로 인해 그 이용성이 높으며, 큰 까치수영 및 갯버들의 경우 부분적인 소화효소 저해능이 있으나 우수한 항혈전활성 및 열 안정성을 나타내어 다양한 식품소재로 개발이 가능함을 확인하였다.

한미통신협의에서 국제 Van이 주 의제화 함에 따라, 이 분야에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 이전에는 주관청 또는 공중통신사업자만이 할 수 있다하여 발전이 저해되어 왔던 국제 VAN 사업이 이제는 국제 VAN사업을 자유화하지 않고는 국제 네트워크 측면에서 고립될 우려가 있다는 인식이 확산되고 있다. 전통적으로 전기통신사업을 관장하던 ITU 체제가 UR 이라는 보다 진보적인 체제의 도전을 받고 있는 상황으로 봐서도 국제 통신사업 자유화의 핵심인 국제 VAN에 대한 확고한 정책방향이 제시되어야 할 것이다. 또, 국제 VAN의 자유화를 국제통신사업에 민간 자본을 진출시키는 작업이기 때문에 이에 따른 후속 정책적 과제를 논함이 필요할 것이다. 본 고에서는 국제 VAN 에 대한 이해를 돕기 위해 각국의 국제 VAN 협상방향을 분석해 보고 이와 관련된 우리나라의 정책과제를 노출하고자 한다.
