Realization of autonomous agents that organize their own internal structure in order to behave adequately with respect to their goals and the world is the ultimate goal of AI and Robotics. Reinforcement learning gas recently been receiving increased attention as a method for robot learning with little or no a priori knowledge and higher capability of reactive and adaptive behaviors. In this paper, we present a method of reinforcement learning by which a multi robots learn to move to goal. The results of computer simulations are given.
Recently, extensive studies have been conducted to apply deep learning to reinforcement learning to solve the state-space problem. If the state-space problem was solved, reinforcement learning would become applicable in various fields. For example, users can utilize dance-tutorial systems to learn how to dance by watching and imitating a virtual instructor. The instructor can perform the optimal dance to the music, to which reinforcement learning is applied. In this study, we propose a method of reinforcement learning in which the action space is dynamically adjusted. Because actions that are not performed or are unlikely to be optimal are not learned, and the state space is not allocated, the learning time can be shortened, and the state space can be reduced. In an experiment, the proposed method shows results similar to those of traditional Q-learning even when the state space of the proposed method is reduced to approximately 0.33% of that of Q-learning. Consequently, the proposed method reduces the cost and time required for learning. Traditional Q-learning requires 6 million state spaces for learning 100,000 times. In contrast, the proposed method requires only 20,000 state spaces. A higher winning rate can be achieved in a shorter period of time by retrieving 20,000 state spaces instead of 6 million.

Reinforcement learning performs learning through interacting with trial-and-error in dynamic environment. Therefore, in dynamic environment, reinforcement learning method like TD-learning and TD(${\lambda}$)-learning are faster in learning than the conventional stochastic learning method. However, because many of the proposed reinforcement learning algorithms are given the reinforcement value only when the learning agent has reached its goal state, most of the reinforcement algorithms converge to the optimal solution too slowly. In this paper, we present GDRLS algorithm for finding the shortest path faster in a maze environment. GDRLS is select the candidate states that can guide the shortest path in maze environment, and learn only the candidate states to find the shortest path. Through experiments, we can see that GDRLS can search the shortest path faster than TD-learning and TD(${\lambda}$)-learning in maze environment.
In order to apply reinforcement learning to a robot in a real environment, it is necessary to use simulation in a virtual environment because numerous iterative learning is required. In addition, it is difficult to apply a learning algorithm that requires a lot of computation for a robot with low-spec. hardware. In this study, ML-Agent, a reinforcement learning frame provided by Unity, was used as a virtual simulation environment to apply reinforcement learning to the obstacle collision avoidance problem of mobile robots with low-spec hardware. A DQN supported by ML-Agent is adopted as a reinforcement learning algorithm and the results for a real robot show that the number of collisions occurred less then 2 times per minute.
Since robotic assembly in an unstructured environment is very difficult with existing control methods, studies using artificial intelligence such as reinforcement learning have been conducted. However, since long-time operation of a robot for learning in the real environment adversely affects the robot, so a method to shorten the learning time is needed. To this end, a method based on a pre-trained neural network was proposed in this study. This method showed a learning speed about 3 times than the existing methods, and the stability of reward during learning was also increased. Furthermore, it can generate a more optimal policy than not using a pre-trained neural network. Using the proposed reinforcement learning-based assembly trajectory generator, 100 attempts were made to assemble the power connector within a random error of 4.53 mm in width and 3.13 mm in length, resulting in 100 successes.
The following paper deals with a control problem of a mobile robot in home network environment. The home network causes the mobile robot to communicate with sensors to get the sensor measurements and to be adapted to the environment changes. To get the improved performance of control of a mobile robot in spite of the change in home network environment, we use the fuzzy inference system with multiple reward reinforcement learning. The multiple reward reinforcement learning enables the mobile robot to consider the multiple control objectives and adapt itself to the change in home network environment. Multiple reward fuzzy Q-learning method is proposed for the multiple reward reinforcement learning. Multiple Q-values are considered and max-min optimization is applied to get the improved fuzzy rule. To show the effectiveness of the proposed method, some simulation results are given, which are performed in home network environment, i.e., LAN, wireless LAN, etc.

The robot soccer simulation game is a dynamic multi-agent environment. In this paper we suggest a new reinforcement learning approach to each agent's dynamic positioning in such dynamic environment. Reinforcement learning is the machine learning in which an agent learns from indirect, delayed reward an optimal policy to chose sequences of actions that produce the greatest cumulative reward. Therefore the reinforcement learning is different from supervised learning in the sense that there is no presentation of input pairs as training examples. Furthermore, model-free reinforcement learning algorithms like Q-learning do not require defining or learning any models of the surrounding environment. Nevertheless it can learn the optimal policy if the agent can visit every state- action pair infinitely. However, the biggest problem of monolithic reinforcement learning is that its straightforward applications do not successfully scale up to more complex environments due to the intractable large space of states. In order to address this problem. we suggest Adaptive Mediation-based Modular Q-Learning (AMMQL)as an improvement of the existing Modular Q-Learning (MQL). While simple modular Q-learning combines the results from each learning module in a fixed way, AMMQL combines them in a more flexible way by assigning different weight to each module according to its contribution to rewards. Therefore in addition to resolving the problem of large state effectively, AMMQL can show higher adaptability to environmental changes than pure MQL. This paper introduces the concept of AMMQL and presents details of its application into dynamic positioning of robot soccer agents.

Reinforcement learning is a technology that can present successful and creative solutions in many areas. This reinforcement learning technology was used to deploy containers from cloud servers to fog servers to help them learn the maximization of rewards due to reduced traffic. Leveraging reinforcement learning is aimed at predicting traffic in the network and optimizing traffic-based fog computing network environment for cloud, fog and clients. The reinforcement learning system collects network traffic data from the fog server and IoT. Reinforcement learning neural networks, which use collected traffic data as input values, can consist of Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) neural networks in network environments that support fog computing, to learn time series data and to predict optimized traffic. Description of the input and output values of the traffic-based reinforcement learning LSTM neural network, the composition of the node, the activation function and error function of the hidden layer, the overfitting method, and the optimization algorithm.

In this paper, we presents HIGH-Q learning algorithm with reinforcement learning for more fast and exact topic-directed web spidering. The purpose of reinforcement learning is to maximize rewards from environment, an reinforcement learning agents learn by interacting with external environment through trial and error. We performed experiments that compared the proposed method using reinforcement learning with breath first search method for searching the web pages. In result, reinforcement learning method using future discounted rewards searched a small number of pages to find result pages.
This paper provides a study of distributional perspective on reinforcement learning for application in mobile robot navigation. Mapless navigation algorithms based on deep reinforcement learning are proven to promising performance and high applicability. The trial-and-error simulations in virtual environments are encouraged to implement autonomous navigation due to expensive real-life interactions. Nevertheless, applying the deep reinforcement learning model in real tasks is challenging due to dissimilar data collection between virtual simulation and the physical world, leading to high-risk manners and high collision rate. In this paper, we present distributional reinforcement learning architecture for mapless navigation of mobile robot that adapt the uncertainty of environmental change. The experimental results indicate the superior performance of distributional soft actor critic compared to conventional methods.
