The PMGS(Plant Model Generating System) was developed based on modular modeling method and fluid network calculation concept. Fluid network calculation is used as a method of real-time computation of fluid network, and the module which has a topology with node and branch is defined to take advantages of modular modeling. Also, the database which have a shared memory as an instance is designed to manage simulation data in real-time. The applicability of the PMGS was examined implementing the HRSG(Heat Recovery Steam Generator) control logic on DCS.
In Korea highway bridges, most piers are the type of one-column or multi-column ones. So, in this study, under an environment applying BIM so fast, to activate researches on two-column piers subjected to bidirectional seismic loading, a 3D parametric modeling method was selected when the model of two-column piers and one-column piers were formed. Also, interface module between input data in structural analysis and 3D model of RC pier was developed. The module can create the input data for non-linear structural analysis like material, geometric properties and additional coefficients.

The need for adopting automation technologies to improve inefficiencies in interior finishing modeling work is increasing during the Building Information Modeling (BIM) design stage. As a result, the use of visual programming languages (VPL) for practical applications is growing. However, undefined or incorrect space designations in BIM models can hinder the development of automated finishing modeling processes, resulting in erroneous corrections and rework. To address this challenge, this study first developed a rule-based automated interior finishing detailing module for floors, walls, and ceilings. In addition, an automated space integrity checking module with 86.69% ACC using the Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) model was developed. These modules were integrated into a design automation module for interior finishing, which was then verified for practical utility. The results showed that the automation module reduced the time required for modeling and integrity checking by 97.6% compared to manual work, confirming its utility in assisting BIM model development for interior finishing works.
Continuum manipulators as a kind of mechanical arms are useful tools in special robotic applications. In medical applications, like colonoscopy, a maneuverable thin and flexible manipulator is required. This research is focused on developing a basic module for such an application using shape memory alloys (SMA). In the structure of the module three wires of SMA are uniformly distributed and attached to the circumference of a flexible tube. By activating wires, individually or together, different rotation regimes are provided. SMA model is used based on Brinson work. The SMA model is combined to model of flexible tube to provide a composite model of the module. Simulating the model in Matlab provided a platform to be used to develop controller. Complex and nonlinear behavior of SMA make the control problem hard especially when a few SMA actuators are active simultaneously. In this paper, position control of the two degree of freedom module is under focus. An experimental control strategy is developed to regulate a desired position in the module. The simulation results present a reasonable performance of the controller. Moreover, the results are verified through experiments and show that the continuum module of this paper would be used in real modular manipulators.

This paper presents a new approach to obtaining a reduced-order model for multi-module converters. The proposed approach can be used to derive the reduced-order model for a wide class of multi-module converters including pulse-width-modulated (PWM) converters, soft-switched PWM converters, and resonant converters. The reduced-order model has the structure of a conventional single-module converter while preserving the dynamics of the original multi-module converter. Derivation procedures and the use of the reduced-order model is demonstrated using a three-module boost converter.
In this study, the modeling support system was developed which can make easy and fast FE-modeling and verify the results of static and durability analysis for the lower arm, one of the important parts in automobile suspension module. It took into account of the whole complicated design processes verifying the durability coefficients evaluated by fatigue analysis, which should be used to satisfy a design criteria. To guide the FE-modeling the drive page was constructed by using HTML and XML, which was based on expert's know-hows. It is able to integrate the processes to design the lower arm in practice, so that the standardization of its FE-Modeling is achieved, consequently. The 3 dimensional CAD's geometrical data were changed automatically into pre-defined shell elements under the concept of mesh-offset technique, and then welding elements were treated to connect between target and basic surfaces constructed by the shell elements. This system has also a user interface to control boundary and load ing conditions applied in performing of the static and durability analysis, in which many load cases can be applied simply with the MPCs driven by just few mouse clicks. These were implemented on the platform of MSC.Patran and utilized ANSYS, MSC.Nastran and MSC.Fatigue as the solver of the analysis performed. The developed system brings not only significant decreasing of man-hours required in FE-modeling process, but also obtaining of satisfied qualities in analyzed results. It will be integrated in a part of virtual prototyping module of the developing e-engineering framework.
The modeling of PV (Photovoltaic) module is useful to perform detailed analysis of PV system performance for changing meteorological conditions, verify actual rated power of PV system sizing and determine the optimal design of PV system and components. This paper indicates a modeling approach of PV module performance in terms of meteorological conditions and identifies validity of this modeling method by comparing measured with simulated value of various PV modules using simulation model.
The detailed modeling method of photovoltaic (PV) module are useful to perform detailed analysis of PV array performance for changing meteorological conditions, verify actual rated power of PV system sizing and, determine the optimal design of PV system and components. This paper investigates a modeling approach of PV module performance in terms of irradiance and temperature changes and compared measured with simulated value of PV modules.
We have developed a module for the dust continuum radiative transfer calculation as part of "Packages of Unified modeling for Radiative transfer, gas Energetics, and Chemistry (PUREC)". PUREC will be applied to interprete observations of protoplanetary disks. When a disk is under the hydrostatic equilibrium condition, the dust temperature and the vertical density structure should be calculated simultaneously. This module calculates the dust temperature by using the method of mean intensity (Lucy et al. 1999). In the very optically thick mid-palne, the Monte-carlo method is not efficient, thus, we apply "modified random walk" and "Partial Diffusion Approximation" to the module. The module has been verified by bechmark tests.
