Because of the development of modern medical science and increased longevity of elderly due to better health care: we are facing a new growing generation of "silver" senior citizens. In near future we will see a slow increase in senior spare time activities in our society. In this study the types of the spare time activities are researched and analyzed. Over the age of 60 most seniors spend ample time watching television and sleeping. Amazingly, in the second age group, seniors aged forty to fifty, when shown to the wonders of internet and cyber technology tend to accept and desire it. It is expected be seen this trend will increase. Secondly, in the case that seniors in their forties and fifties are entering into the silver generation, we can expect more promising multimedia content developed for the elderly.

Scandinavian countries have hold tradition shared historically and culturally in common, brought the weighty traditional thoughts enabled to develop their unique culture. Since 1940s, Scandinavian design could pervade with affectionate forms and practical effectiveness with worldwide popularity. It was brought by creation of new and useful forms for the convenience in life, functionalism but not bounded by fashion of it. This study tried into the meaning of their history of modern furnishings design based on the development background of furnishings design, its trends, designers and their work focused around Sweden, Finland, and Denmark. Scandinavian furnishings is a functional furnishings reconciled to natural material and human life exactly correspond to the taste of the generation unrestricted from the tradition of contemporary and compact design preference or classic favored preference. The practicality and exquisite techniques of Scandinavian furnishings lies within the realm of possibility for studiously love of the world.

About 25 years ago, halfway along the recorded history of the neutron as a separate entity, Korea entered the nuclear age and initiated its own neutron research and development programs. Since that time Korean scientists have taken all possible advantages of the special opportunities offered by the neutron. Scientists the world over, in the Far East, hear East, and the West, have adapted these opportunities to their special needs. These needs are manifested in all phases of modern life, including power generation by nuclear means, food preservation, production of new types of food-bearing plants, commercial uses of activation analysis, irradiations, and isotope production, nuclear medicine, industrial quality control through nuclear measurements, and direct use of neutrons in research in many areas including solid state physics, chemistry, physics, biology, and medicine. Research with neutrons has been successfully conducted using nuclear research reactors of all sizes ranging from the very small (∼10 kilowatts) to the very large(50-100 Megawatts). This speaker has teen associated with nuclear research since 1945 and directly with neutron research since 1957. From this continuous research and development activity, he will report on some of the prospects in the second 50 years of the neutron.

The purpose of this study is to delve into the identity of the New-Hanbok style in modern fashion, and to survey its formative characteristics and internal values from the perspective of vernacular design. Arguments can be summed up as follows. The study historically examines the changes in Hanbok and concludes that the social and cultural backgrounds and factors that caused the advent of the New Hanbok are (1) the change and expansion of the basic social, cultural, and popular perception toward the Korean image, (2) the rapid spread of a subculture centering on the younger generation, and (3) the voluntary and systematic activities of nonprofit clubs, communities and private organizations. This is the cycle of the spread of Hanbok, which shows the subcultural selection and development process of upward propagation. Furthermore, the public, in addition to holding fast to an independent attitude regarding their choices, also show that they tolerate diversity. As a perspective of analyzing the New Hanbok style, the study suggests the characteristics of the vernacular design perspective as (1) a spontaneous indigenous nature (2) living everydayness (3) and the subcultural-ness of the era. From such a perspective, the study examines the formative characteristics of the basic costume configuration of the New Hanbok style including jeogori, traditional Korean skirts, Cheollik one-pieces, and Trompe l'oeil one-pieces, and draws out the meanings contained in the New Hanbok style, which are (1) spontaneous indigenous nature and directivity toward tradition, (2) living everydayness and modernity, and (3) open subcultural-ness.

The technology of high-speed electrical machines is particularly relevant to applications involving electrical power generation and high-speed motors with high power density and high efficiency. Due to the development of improved materials for electrical machines, power electronic elements and design technology, the high-speed electrical machines are being rapidly introduced into industrial applications. The introduction of high-speed electrical machines has created a new market for electrical machines and will, as an application, contribute to the development of modern electrical machines. This paper discusses major strengths of tall buildings that distinguish them as sustainable solutions for the built environment. It sheds light on some of the key attributes of tall buildings as well as materials and technologies that could boost their performance environmentally, economically and technically as well as the natural habitats containing them. Tall buildings are portrait as major successful options for accommodating the ever increasing urban world population, with little negative impact on ecologies and environmental habitats worldwide. The role of tall buildings as 'vertical garden sub-cities' mitigating modern city problems of 'urban heat islands' and sprawling cities is explored. A few building examples as well as city developments are presented which represent the new generation of sustainable tall buildings that are setting trends for future projects incorporating innovations in materials and building systems and designs.

In recent years, young Chinese consumers have become more favorably inclined toward products relating to traditional culture. Therefore, this study aimed to develop a textile design that incorporates traditional Chinese patterns and cultural symbolism that will appeal to consumers from the MZ generation (millennials and Generation Z). Through a literature search for traditional Chinese patterns and symbols regarded as auspicious, our design concept and motives were established. We selected peony, lotus, and frog motifs as representative of a "wealth and eternal prosperity" design theme. In textile design work 1, we used hand drawing and watercolor techniques, color transformation with Adobe Photoshop, and colorway and end-use 3D simulation with TexPro. The 3D simulation work suggests that this textile pattern is suitable for women's outerwear, mufflers, and tote bags. Textile design work 2 conveyed the 'wealth and eternal prosperity' design theme and had a graceful mood that embodied the nobility of the lotus flower whilst also encompassing the symbolism of money and status. The end design is a modern reinterpretation of traditional Chinese patterns and motifs. As such, it is hoped that it will satisfy the needs of young consumers for cultural values yet offer a unique new aesthetic distinct from existing textile designs. These qualities can be expected to enhance the competitive market value of textiles bearing this design.

De Stijl in order to began in the Netherlands in 1917 is an art movement that becomes the theoretical background of modernism design was the foundation geometric abstraction. Steel design for that they offered a new paradigm at that time art, in various fields such as industrial design is still applied, especially works of De Stijl in the design area of urniture it became the beginning of the modern furniture. The starting point of this study is to analyze the two-dimensional representation characteristics to understand the background of the formation with the basic concepts of De Stijl. Therefore the generation of the surface to be displayed in the work of De Stijl and to analyze the divided element, and not if learn their expression characteristics. Also the line and the plane of the two-dimensional modeling properties of De Stijl, after described colors, and studied the characteristics of De Stjil writers for typical analyzes the moldability shown in their work, which based on, we try to present a new representation technique.

The Internet is a very successful modern technology and is considered to be one of the most important means of communication. Despite that success, fundamental architectural and business limitations exist in the Internet's design. Among these limitations, we focus on a specific issue, the lack of manageability, in this paper. Although it is generally understood that management is a significant and important part of network and service design, it has not been considered as an integral part in their design phase. We address this problem with our future Internet management architecture called highly manageable network and service architecture for new generation (HiMang), which is a novel architecture that aims at integrating management capabilities into network and service design. HiMang is highly manageable in the sense that it is autonomous, scalable, robust, and evolutionary while reducing the complexity of network management. Unlike any other management framework, HiMang provides management support for the revolutionary networks of the future while maintaining backward compatibility for existing networks.

The need to acquire a multi-mission modular ship to carry out the mosaic warfare of modern warfare is increasing. In such a modular ship, not only domestic R&D equipment/systems but also an manned/unmanned complex system purchased overseas must be mounted together. In order to successfully design/construction a multi-mission modular prototype battle ship and turn it into timely power, it is necessary to apply a new technology so that it can be installed flexibly in a limited space and time. However, the existing welding installation method not only limits flexibility in design/construction due to safety problems, but also has an inherent problem that the cost and time required to correct defects and supplements are excessive. Therefore, this study introduces the current status of next-generation installation devices developed/applied in the advanced navy and the field demonstration results applied to battle ships to provide flexibility in this respect.
