A review on the design analysis of an axial-flow turbine is presented. Followed by a brief introduction to the fundamentals on an axial-flow turbine, a design procedure is described with a sample design of one for a small turbo-jet engine. Design procedure is composed of two parts: one-dimensional analysis of three-dimensional effects based on radial equilibrium theory. The method described herein is so simple and rapid that it can be applied to the preliminary design analysis of turbo-machinery equipped with axial-flow turbines.

We present a fast reduction method of survey data obtained using a single-dish radio telescope. Along with a brief review of classical method, a new method of identification and elimination of negative and positive bad channels are introduced using cloud identification code and several IRAF (Image Reduction and Analysis Facility) tasks relating statistics. Removing of several ripple patterns using Fourier Transform is also discussed. It is found that BACKGROUND task within IRAF is very efficient for fitting and subtraction of base-line with varying functions. Cloud identification method along with the possibility of its application for analysis of cloud structure is described, and future data reduction method is discussed.

Burkitt lymphoma, which was described by Dennis Burkitt in 1958, is characterized as a diffuse undifferentiated lymphoma. It afflicts children of the 1st or 2nd decades, and usually presents as a jaw or abdominal tumor. The author experienced a case of Burkitt lymphoma in a 30-year-old female, whose right mandible and ascending colon were afflicted, and discussed the clinical, radiological, and histopathological features with brief review of literatures.

This paper seeks to search a improved evaluation system of government sponsored research institutes(GSRI) as a knowledge system It begins with a brief review of the theory of knowledge and knowledge system This is followed by a search of the desirable conditions of the evaluation system of GSRI as a knowledge system These conditions presented are applied within the context of the current evaluation system of GSRI. Finally conclusions are drawn and directions for improvement of the system are outlined.

We describe herein an extremely rare case of a recurrent primary pulmonary malignant fibrous histiocytoma 3 months after operation that occurred in a 55-year-old man who was treated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy successfully. Until now, 36 months later, the patient has shown no evidence of tumor recurrence. The clinical, radiographic, and pathologic features are reported here together with a brief review of the literature.

Despite the incidence of tuberculosis has been greatly reduced with chemotherpy, it is still a common disease in Korea. The pharyngeal and laryngeal tuberculosis usually result from direct contamination of the laryngeal or pharyngeal mucosa by sputum heavily laden with Mycobacterium tuberculosis, secondary infection from the lungs via lymphatic or hematogenous routes, or a primary affection from inhaled tubercle bacilli. Recently the authors experienced a pharyngolaryngeal tuberculosis and report this case with brief literatures review.

We experienced a case of Sturge-Weber Syndrome in a 32 years old female. The diagnosis was established by clinical features of Sturge-Weber Syndrome including unilateral facial portwine nevus, vascular hyperplasia of oral mucosa(espectially 1st & 2nd division of trigeminal nerve). But, plain radiographys of the skull revealed no evidence of calcification. A brief review of related literatures was made. Common Clinical findings in Sturge-Weber Syndrome and specific signs & symptoms manifested by this patient were discussed.

This paper is a brief review of the different procedures that are available for fitting theoretical distributions to data. The use of each technique is illustrated by reference to a distribution system which including the Pearson, Johnson and Burr functions. These functions can be used to calculate percent out of specification. The main objectives of this study are to propose a new methods for estimating a measure of process capability for Beta distributed variable data by using the percentage nonconforming. The comprehensive information for the process can be used to evaluate more accurately process capability.

Combined intrauterine and extrauterine pregnancy is rare, occuring 1 in 30,000 pregnancies. The early diagnosis of combined pregnancy is very difficult, and so there is a higher maternal morbidity and fetal loss. Recently the incidence of combined pregnancy is increased. We experienced a case of combined intrauterine and right tubal pregnancy, and this case was presented with a brief review of the literatures.
