Effect of Cold-Rolling Direction on Creep Behaviors in Zr-1.1Nb-0.05Cu Alloy (냉간 압연 방향에 따른 Zr-1.1Nb-0.05Cu 합금의 크리프 거동)

  • Creep behaviors of the Zr-1.Nb-0.5Cu (HANA-6) alloy strips with different orientations were investigated. Anisotropy was observed in the samples depending on their physical orientations due to the formation of texture in their microstructures. The creep strain rate was increased as the test stress and temperature increased. The rate was higher along the rolling-direction than in the transverse-direction irrespective of annealing conditions. However, the samples with $45^{\circ}$ direction showed different behaviors depending on the annealing temperature. When strips were finally annealed at $600^{\circ}C$ for 10 min, the primary creep rate of the $45^{\circ}$ strip was the highest among the various orientations although the saturated creep rate was the lowest. In the case of final annealing at $660^{\circ}C$ for 4 h, the highest creep rate occurred throughout the creep test in the $45^{\circ}$ strip. It is considered that the fraction of (100) planes along the direction of creep deformation affect the creep rates.

Fabrication and characteristics of porous ceramics from $ZrTiO_4$ based ceramic material (다공성 $ZrTiO_4$ 재료의 제조 및 특성)

  • Cordierite has a very low thermal expansion coefficient, but has problem that it has a weak mechanical strength and is apt to be attacked by acid such as sulfur for using as a diesel particulate filter support. The physical properties of $ZrTiO_4$ modified with $SiO_2,\;Al_2O_3$, MoOx, $Cr_2O_3\;and\;Nb_2O_5$ were investigated with XRD, SEM, UTM and thermal expansion, etc. in this paper. $ZrTiO_4$ powder was synthesized as a monoclinic structure with processes that starting materials of $TiO_2\;and\;ZrO_2$ were mixed with ball mill and calcined above $1240^{\circ}C$ for 3 hr. Additive modified $ZrTiO_4$ specimens for flexural strength and thermal expansion measurement were obtained by mixing $ZrTiO_4$ powder with additives, pressing and firing at $1300^{\circ}C$ for 3 hr. The porosity of additive modified $ZrTiO_4$ decreased monotonically with increasing additive content by 5 wt% regardless of additive types and saturated for further increase of additive by 10wt. The flexural strength of $Al_2O_3$ (5, 10 wt%) modified $ZrTiO_4$ shows a large increase, but that of other additives modified $ZrTiO_4$ decreased. The thermal expansion coefficient of additive modified $ZrTiO_4$ except $Nb_2O_5$ decreased continuously with the content of additive. In particular, the lowest thermal expansion coefficient of $ZrTiO_4$ was obtained for the additive of $SiO_2$.

  • Dielectric properties, piezoelectric properties and mechanical properties of NiO-doped Pb($(Ni_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-PbTiO_3-PbZrO_3$ ceramics were investigated. Powders, prepared by columbite precursor method, were cold pressed and sintered at temperature ranging from $1100^{\circ}C$ to $1250^{\circ}C$. Dielectric constant and piezoelectric constant increased with amount of NiO up to 1 mol% and then decreased with further addition of NiO. It seems that NiO acts as a sintering aid at the sintering temperatures of $1150^{\circ}C$. When the samples were sintered at temperature above $1200^{\circ}C$, however, both dielectric constant and electromechanical coupling factor decreased and mechanical quality coefficient increased with addition of NiO. Hardness and fracture toughness of PNN-PT-PZ increased with addition of NiO up to 1 mol%, and then decreased slightly with further addition of NiO. These results showed that dielectric properties, piezoelectric properties and mechanical properties of PNN-PT-PZ system seemed to be closely related with microstructural factors such as grain size, bulk density and the amount of second phase.

  • 본연구에서는 초음파 모터 등의 고출력 액츄에이터에 응용 가능한 $0.4Pb(Ni_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3$-$0.6Pb(Zr_{0.405}Ti_{0.595})O_3$ + 0.25wt% $Fe_2O_3$ 조성시스템에 $MnO_2$ (0~1 wt.%)첨가하여 압전, 유전특성 및 미세구조에 관해 고찰하였다. 본조성을 $1125{\sim}1175^{\circ}C$ 온도에서 2시간 소결하여 시편을 제조하였으며 이의 결정구조 및 미세조직을 분석하였다. $MnO_2$ 첨가량 증가에 따라 압전 상수와 전기기계결함계수는 감소하였으며, 기계적 품질계수는 0.5 wt% 첨가시까지 증가하였으나 첨가량이 그 이상 증가함에 따라 감소하였다. 압전특성은 $1125^{\circ}C$에서 소결한 $MnO_2$ 0.5wt%조성에서 ${\varepsilon}r$ = 2040, kp = 0.66, $d_{33}$ = 504, Qm=438의 우수한 특성을 나타내었다.

Effects of Al2O3 on the Piezoelectric Properties of Pb(Mn1/3Nb2/3)O3-PbZrO3-PbTiO3 Ceramics (Pb(Mn1/3Nb2/3)O3-PbZrO3-PbTiO3 세라믹스의 압전특성에 미치는 Al2O3의 영향)

  • Piezoelectric properties of $Pb(Mn_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-PbZrO_3-PbTiO_3$ ceramics were investigated with $Al_2O_3$ content $(0.0-1.0 wt\%)$. The constituent phases, microstructure, electromechanical coupling factor, dielectric constant, piezoelectric charge and voltage constants were analyzed. Diffraction peaks for (002) and (200) planes were identified by X-ray diffractometer for all the specimens doped with $Al_2O_3$, indicating the MPB (morphotropic phase boundary) composition of tetragonal structures. The highest sintered density of $7.8 g/cm^3$ was obtained for $0.2wt\%\;Al_2O_3-doped$ specimen. Grain size increased by doping $Al_2O_3$ up to $0.3 wt\%$, and it decreased by more doping. Electromechanical coupling factor, dielectric constant, piezoelectric charge and voltage constants increased by doping $Al_2O_3$ up to $0.2wt\%$, and it decreased by more doping. This might result from the formation of oxygen vacancies due to defects in $O^{2-}$ ion sites and the substitution of $Al^{3+}$ ions.

  • In this study, the structural, dielectric and piezielectric properities of $xPb(Mg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-(0.5-x)Pb(Ni_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-0.5Pb(Zr_{0.3}Ti_{0.7})O_3$ ceramics were investigated with the substitution of $PbMg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3}O_3$. The results showed that the substitution of the $PbMg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3}O_3$ was effective in increasing the dielectric constant and electromechanical coupling factor $(K_p)$. The dielectric constant, dielectric loss and Kp showed the highest values of 4293, 2.4%, 0.59 relatively, when the substitution of amount of $PbMg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3}O_3$ was 5 mol%.

  • Investigations of crystal structure and phase transition of $Pb(Zr_{0.52}Ti_{0.48})O_3$ ceramics doped with A-site substitution impurity (La, Nd) or B-site substitution impurity (Sb, Nb) at 2 mol% concentration were carried out. X-ray diffraction patterns of impurities doped $Pb(Zr_{0.52}Ti_{0.48})O_3$ ceramics have been measured at pressures up to ~5 GPa with diamond anvil cell and synchrotron radiation. The patterns were obtained at room temperature using methanol-ethanol mixture as pressure-transmitting media. In order to refine the crystal structure, Rietveld analysis has been performed. The structures of impurities doped $Pb(Zr_{0.52}Ti_{0.48})O_3$ ceramics are tetragonal in space group P4mm at ambient pressure and are transformed into a cubic phase in space group Pm$\bar{3}$m as the pressure increases. In this study, when A-site substitution donor $La^{3+}$ or $Nd^{3+}$ ion was added to $Pb(Zr_{0.52}Ti_{0.48})O_3$ ceramics, the phase transition phenomena showed up at the pressure of 2.5~4.6 GPa, but when B-site substitution donor $Nb^{5+}$ or $Sb^{5+}$ ion was added to it, the phase transition appeared at relatively lower pressure of 1.7~2.6 GPa.

  • The dielectric and piezoelectric properties of Pb(Mn$\_$1/3/Nb$\_$2/3)O$_3$-Pb(Zr,Ti)O$_3$ceramics were investigated as a function of Zr/Ti ratio. Curie temperature was increased with the increase of Ti amount. At the Zr/Ti ratio of 0.495/0.505, dielectric constant and electromechanical coupling factor(kp) showed the maximum value of 1159 and 0.523 respectively.

  • 1960년 Au-Si계 합금에서 처음으로 비정질상이 급속 응고법에 의해 보고된 이래/sup 1)/ 지난 40년 간 많은 합금계에서 비정질상이 보고되어졌다. 대표적으로 Fe-, Ni-, Co기 합금 등 많은 합금계에서 비정질상이 보고되었으나, 비정질상의 형성을 위해서는 약 105 K/s이상의 높은 냉각속도를 필요로 하였다. 1980년대 수백 K/s의 낮은 냉각속도 하에서도 비정질상이 형성될 수 있는 다원계 합금(multi-component alloy)이 Mg-Ln-(Ni, Cu, Zn), Ln-Al-TM 합금에서 보고되어 졌으나 많은 관심을 받지 못하다가 1993년 Zr-Ti-Ni-Cu-Be 합금에서 수 ㎝ 크기의 비정질합금 제조가 보고되면서 전 세계적으로 많은 관심을 받게 되었다.   • [ $MnO_2$ ]가 첨가된 $0.9Pb(Zr_{0.5}Ti_{0.5})O_3-0.2Pb[(Zn_{0.8}Ni_{0.2})_{1/3}Nb_{2/3}]O_3$(0.8PZT-0.2PZNN) 세라믹스는 그 압전특성과 유전특성이 뛰어나지만 $1000^{\circ}C$ 이하의 낮은 소결 온도에서는 소결되지 않는다. $1000^{\circ}C$이하의 낮은 소결온도에서 소결하기 위해 CuO를 첨가한 결과, 소결온도 $920^{\circ}C$에서 소결성은 우수하였으나 그 압전 특성의 저하가 두드러졌다. 이는 XRD에서 확인한 결과에 따르면 CuO의 첨가가 우수한 MPB 조성으로 판명된 $MnO_2$ 가 첨가된 0.8PZT-0.2PZNN 세라믹스의 결정구조를 Rhombohedral 구조로 바꾸기 때문인 것으로 보였으며 이러한 문제는 PZNN의 비율을 조절하여 0.875PZT-0.125PZNN 세라믹스를 선택함으로 인해 해결할 수 있었다. 그러나 여전히 낮은 $Q_m$값을 높이기 위해서 $Al_2O_3$를 첨가하였고 그 결과 시편의 tetragonality 감소와 $Q_m$값의 증가를 확인할 수 있었으나 그 첨가량이 0.2wt% 이상일 경우에는 밀도의 감소로 인한 압전특성의 저하가 나타났다. 밀도의 향상을 위해 Zn and Ni excess 조성을 선택하였고 그 결과 0.5wt% $MnO_2$와 0.2wt% CuO 그리고 0.3wt% $Al_2O_3$를 첨가한 0.875PZT-0.125PZNN 세라믹스(Zn and Ni excess 조성)를 $920^{\circ}C$에서 소결한 경우 $k_p=0.581,\;Q_m=809,\;d_{33}=345\;pC/N\;and\;{\varepsilon}_{33}/{\varepsilon}_0=1345$의 빼어난 압전 및 유전특성과 $330^{\circ}C$의 높은 $T_c$를 보였고 그 조성의 vibration velocity는 약4.5 m/s로 나타났다.
