CDMA 이동통신 시스템에서 영역기준 위치등록 방법의 성능분석 (Performance Evaluation of Zone-based Registration in COMA Mobile Communication System)

  • In this paper, we evaluate the performance of zone-based registration. First, we propose a mobility function for single zone-based registration. And we establish the circumstances of multiple zone-based registration, which is based on the mobility function for single zone-based registration, and perform simulation programs for the circumstances. Using the simulation results, we obtain optimal N, the number of multiple zones which minimizes signalling traffic in radio channels. Results show that in most cases optimal N is 2. Multiple zone-based registration has less signalling traffic in radio channels than single zone-based registration and zone-based registration must be implemented as multiple zone-based registration.

영역기준 위치등록의 성능 분석 (Performance Analysis of Zone-Based Registration Schemes)

  • In this study, we consider zone-based registration (ZBR). In the ZBR, when a mobile station (MS) enters a new location area (LA), it registers its location. Among various types of ZBR, we focus on two zone-based registration with outgoing call (TZRC) that is an improved version of the two zone-based registration (TZR). In the TZR, an MS can store two LAs that it registers recently not to register when it crosses two LAs stored already. In general, TZR has better performance than single zone-based registration (SZR). However, since the TZR may increase paging cost, TZRC was proposed to decrease paging cost. Mathematical analysis is performed to obtain the exact performance of SZR, TZR, TZRC. From the numerical results for various circumstances, it is shown that TZRC outperforms TZR and SZR in most cases.

  • An efficient mobility management for mobile stations plays an important role in mobile communication networks. Even though many a mobility management schemes have been proposed, most of mobile communication networks adopt the mobility scheme based on zone-based registration. This paper studies the mobility management scheme that combines zone-based registration and 2-step selective paging. We assume cell by cell registration area, not ring by ring registration area of previous studies, and set up a new mobility model based on 2-dimensional random walk model considering the characteristic of zone-based registration to evaluate its performance exactly. We provide numerical results using proposed model to demonstrate the performance of zone-based registration and 2-step selective paging under various circumstances.

Zone-Based Self-Organized Clustering with Byzantine Agreement in MANET

  • The proposed zone-based self-organized clustering broadcasts neighbor information to only a zone with the same ID. Besides, the zone-based self-organized clustering with unique IDs can communicate securely even if the state transition of nodes in zone-based self-organized clustering is threatened by corrupted nodes. For this security, the Byzantine agreement protocol with proactive asynchronous verifiable secret sharing (AVSS) is considered. As a result of simulation, an efficiency and a security of the proposed clustering are better than those of a traditional clustering. Therefore, this paper describes a new and extended self-organized clustering that securely seeks to minimize the interference in mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs).

  • Indoor zone-based services have continuously become popular by increased prevalence of smartphones. Bluetooth and ultrasound can be used for zone detection. However, bluetooth does not guarantee precise zone detection if the signal degrades due to the obstacles. Ultrasound can be easily forged by recording sound on the smartphone. For that reason, zone detection based on ultrasound has a security hole. To remedy each limitation, we propose an advanced zone detection method, that combines bluetooth and ultrasound. An authentication server issues a one-time password to the user over bluetooth. The user generates an ultrasound signal that encodes the password. In this manner, the proposed method ensures secure and accurate zone detection.

  • Many strategies have been proposed to reduce mobility management cost. Among them, in this paper, we study three schemes of zone-based registrationthat have been adopted by most of mobile systems. These special schemes are referred to as the single-zone-based registration (SZR), the two-zone-based registration (TZR) and the two-zone-based registration with outgoing call (TZRC) respectively. We propose a mathematical model to evaluate the performance of TZRC in order to compare with those of SZR and TZR. Numerical results show that TZRC outperforms not only SZR but also TZR in most cases.

  • In this paper, we evaluate the performance of zone-based registration and distance-based registration. First, we propose the mobility model which can be used to analyze the performance of both zone-based registration and distance-based registration. And using the proposed mobility model, we obtain several performance measures and perform numerical computation to compare the performance of two registration methods. Numerical results show that in general zone-based registration needs less number of registration than distance-based registration. On the other hand, if distance-based registration is used, registration load is equally distributed to all cells in a location area and ping-pong phenomenon is not occurred. And when a VLR area is composed of a few location areas, distance-based registration may need less registration load than zone-based registration. Therefore, a proper registration method should be selected considering system circumstances and implementation complexity, and the selected method should be implemented so as to change system parameters according to system circumstances.

  • MANET has an advantage that can build a network quickly and easily in difficult environment to build network. In particular, routing protocol that uses in existing mobile environment cannot be applied literally because it consists of only mobile node. Thus, routing protocol considering this characteristic is necessary. Malicious nodes do extensive damage to the whole network because each mobile node has to act as a router. In this paper, we propose technique that can detect accurately the suspected node which causes severely damage to the performance of the network. The proposed technique divides the whole network to zone of constant size and is performed simultaneously detection technique based zone and detection technique by collaboration between nodes. Detection based zone translates the information when member node finishes packet reception or transmission to master node managing zone and detects using this. The collaborative detection technique uses the information of zone table managing in master node which manages each zone. The proposed technique can reduce errors by performing detection which is a reflection of whole traffic of network.

  • 본 논문에서는 멀티미디어 트래픽을 효율적으로 서비스하기 위해 CDMA 순방향 링크에 제안되었던 Zone-based 전력제어 방식(1)의 역방향 링크 적용 타당성을 검증 및 분석하였다. Zone-based 전력제어 방식을 운용하기 위해서는 각 트래픽 채널에 할당되는 최대 전력량이 결정되어야 한다. 순방향 링크에서는 기지국의 전력 자원을 다수의 트래픽 채널이 공유하기 때문에 각 트래픽 채널에 할당 가능한 최대 전력 자원을 결정하는 메커니즘이 요구되지만, 역방향 링크에서는 서비스 단말별로 전송되는 트래픽 채널에 할당 가능한 최대 전력 자원이 결정되어져 있는 특성으로 인해 Zone-based 전력제어 방식이 쉽게 구현될 수 있다. 실험 결과는 Zone-based 전력제어 방식이 기존의 전력제어 방식에 비해 전력 소비량과 이동국의 트래픽 성능에 있어서 향상된 결과를 보여주었다. 결국 Zone-based 전력제어 방식은 멀티미디어 트래픽 환경에서 고속 데이터호의 서비스 반경을 셀의 전체 서비스 반경으로 확보할 수 있게 하고, 시스템 내에 생성되는 간섭 량을 억제하여 저속 음성호의 QoS도 적절히 보장해줄 수 있는 방안임을 확인하였다.

  • The revision of domestic laws is in progress according to the UN Convention on the Law of the Coastal Zone Management . Along with it, the governmental policies related to maritime environmental preservation, especially around coastal zones and public works have been promoted based on enviornment, swiftly changed from the old function-based style. Therefore, this report will point out the important aspects which should be considered whenever there is any project on the coastal zones, suggest and classify projects of reviving the nationwide coastal zones, and show how to planning , check and evaluate the necessary technologies for reviving the coastal zones. This research will track down the coastal zone management method based on the natural enviornment as one of the necessary process to check the coastal zone enviornment for effective operating of the coastal zone management equipment method, starting on August 9, 1999, and report the technologies related with it.
