  • Reactions between Ag-Pd internal electrode materials and{{{{ { {Bi }_{2 }O }_{3 } }} in multilayer chip varistor were in-vestigated. For more than 1 mol%{{{{ { {Bi }_{2 }O }_{3 } }} in varistor composition internal electrode structure was destroyed due to the reaction between internal electrode and{{{{ { {Bi }_{2 }O }_{3 } }} But for typical varistor compositions (below 1 mol% of{{{{ { {Bi }_{2 }O }_{3 } }} content) microstructural changes around the internal electrode were not observed. However SEM-EDS and TEM-EDS analysis showed the uneven distribution of{{{{ { {Bi }_{2 }O }_{3 } }} in the internal electrode which was due to the migration of{{{{ { {Bi }_{2 }O }_{3 } }} to the electorde during sintering. As a results the nonlinear coefficient of multilayer varistor showed very large distribution as well as the breakdown voltage.

Selective Transport of Lead(II) through a Bulk Liquid Membrane Using a Cooperative Carrier Composed of Benzylaza-12-crown-4 and Oleic Acid

  • A chloroform membrane system containing a given mixture of benzylaza-12-crown-4 and oleic acid is introduced for the selective and efficient transport of $Pb^{2+}$ ion. The transport was capable of moving metal ions ‘up-hill’. In the presence of ${S_2O_3}^{2-}$ion as a suitable metal ion acceptor in the receiving phase, the amount of lead ion transport across the liquid membrane after 150 minutes is (95.0 ${\pm}$ 1.7)%. The selectivity and efficiency of lead transport from aqueous solution containing $Tl^+,\;Ag^+,\;Mg^{2+},\;Ca^{2+},\;Co^{2+},$ $Ni^{2+},\;Cu^{2+},\;Zn^{2+},\;Hg^{2+}$ and $Cd^{2+}$were investigated. In the presence of thiosulfate as a suitable masking agent in the source phase, the interfering effects of $Ag^+\;and\;Cu^{2+}$ were diminished drastically.

당두 연-아연 광상의 산출광물과 화학조성 (Mineralogy and Chemical Compositions of Dangdu Pb-Zn Deposit)

  • 당두 연-아연 광상 주변의 지질은 선캠브리아 기반암류인 변성암류와 그 상부를 피복하는 오르도비스기의 돌로마이트, 석회암, 석회규산염암, 혼펠스, 그리고 이를 관입한 중생대와 백악기의 화강암류 및 암맥들로 구성되어있다. 광상은 오르도비스기의 석회암층 내 열극을 따라 $N20{\sim}40^{\circ}W$방향으로 교대한 연-아연 스카른광상이다. 당두광상에서 주로 개발된 광체는 -30 m level의 연장 10 m, 폭 3 m규모의 $N20^{\circ}E$, $50^{\circ}NW$방향으로 발달한 광체와 연장 15 m, 폭 3 m 규모의 $N30^{\circ}E$, $50^{\circ}NW$방향으로 발달한 광체, 포켓상 광체가 있으며, -63 m level의 폭 2 m, 연장 20 m규모의 $N20^{\circ}E$, $45^{\circ}NW$방향으로 발달한 광체가 있다. 주요 광석광물로는 섬아연석, 황동석, 자류철석, 방연석, 자철석, 황철석이 있으며, 자연창연, 휘창연석, 헤사이트, 코살라이트, 백철석이 소량 수반된다. 섬아연석의 정량분석 결과 평균 FeS 14.14~18.08 mole%, CdS 0.44~0.70 mole%, MnS 0.52~1.13, 1.53~2.09 mole%의 범위를 갖는다. 방연석은 평균 0.54 wt.%의 소량의 은을 함유하며, 일부 시료에서는 1.47 wt.%에 이르는 은을 함유하기도 한다. 코살라이트는 평균 Ag 2.43 wt.%, Bi 44.36 wt.%, Pb 35.05 wt.%의 조성을 보이며, 평균 화학식 $Pb_{1.7}Bi_{2.1}Ag_{0.2}S_5$ 로 Bi가 소량 부화되었으며, Ag를 소량 포함하는 것이 특징이다. 스카른광물로는 녹렴석, 녹니석, 석류석, 단사휘석, 투각섬석, 석영, 방해석이 있다. 광체는 중심부로부터 외곽부로 대칭적인 분포를 보이며, 중심부로부터 녹렴석-단사휘석대, 녹렴석-단사휘석-녹니석대, 녹렴석-석류석-단사휘석대 순으로 분포한다. 석류석의 화학조성은 광체 중심부에 해당하는 녹렴석-단사휘석대에서 외곽부인 녹렴석-단사휘석-녹니석대 및 녹렴석-석류석-단사휘석대로 감에 따라 그로술라의 비율이 높아지는 경향을 보인다. 단사휘석은 투휘석-헤덴버자이트 고용체로 산출되며, 녹렴석-단사휘석대에서 녹렴석-단사휘석-녹니석대, 녹렴석-석류석-단사휘석대로 감에 따라 요한세나이트의 비율이 높아지는 경향을 보인다. 광화작용은 단일광화작용에 의해 이루어졌으며, 조기는 스카른광물 정출기, 중기는 광석광물 정출기, 말기는 저온성 광석광물의 정출기이다. 주요 광석광물은 중기~말기에 걸쳐 형성되었다. 자류철석의 변질산물인 백철석-황철석의 공존 온도와 코살라이트의 형성온도로 미루어보아 저온성 광물 정출기의 온도는 $125{\sim}300^{\circ}C$로 생각된다. 광화작용에 따른 광석광물의 형성 온도에 의하면 조기에서 말기로 감에 따라 $600^{\circ}C$에서 $300^{\circ}C$ 이하의 환경까지 온도가 낮아졌을 것으로 추정된다.

Flexible quantum dot solar cells with PbS-MIx/PbS-BuDT bilayers

  • Recently, in order to improve the performance of the colloidal quantum dot solar cells (CQDSCs), various efforts such as the modification of the cell architecture and surface treatment for quantum dot (QD) passivation have been made. Especially, the incorporation of halides into the QD matrix was reported to improve the performances significantly via passivating QD trap states that lower the life-time of the minority-carrier. In this work, we fabricated a lead sulfide (PbS) QD bilayer treated with different ligands and utilized it as a photoactive layer of the CQDSCs. The bottom and top PbS layer was treated using metal iodide ($MI_x$ and butanedithiol (BuDT), respectively. All the depositions and ligand treatments were carried out in air using layer-by-layer spin-coating process. The fabrication of the active layers as well as the n-type zinc oxide (ZnO) layer was successfully carried out on the bendable indium-tin-oxide (ITO)-coated polyethylene terephthalate (PET) substrate, which implies that this technique can be applied to the fabrication of flexible and/or wearable solar cells. The power conversion efficiency (PCE) of the CQDSCs with the architecture of $PET/ITO/ZnO/PbS-MI_x/PbS-BuDT/MoO_x/Ag$ reached 4.2 %, which is significantly larger than that of the cells with single QD (PbS-BuDT) layer.

신안침몰선 인양 중국 동전의 화학조성 (CHEMICAL COMPOS IT80N OF AHCIENT CH INESE COINS RICOVIRID FROM THI SHINAN SHIPWRECK)

  • Between 1976 and 1984 approximately 26.7 tons of Chinese coins were recovered from a shipwreck which was found at the seabed of the Shin an area in the south-western coast of the Korean peninsula. Elements, Cu, Pb, Sn, Fe, Sb, As, Zn, Ag, Ni, Co and Mn, of 54 pieces of the coins were determined by Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectroscopy(ICP-AIS). The result shows that Ch, Pb, and Sn were found to be major elements roughly the coins with the ratio of 7 : 2 : 1, respectively. Trace elements were classified into 3 levels according to the avarage concentration : Fe,As and Sb(0.1-0.5%), Ag, Mi, Co and Zn(100-1000ppm) and Mn(10ppm). Some systematic tendencies are observed in the composition change with a function of their minting ages .The Wuzhu coins(오수전) from the Eastern Han dynasty(A.D.25-219 )are much more abundant in Cu than the coins of Tang dynasty(A.D.618-907) and later periods. Major element compositions of the Kai -tong Vuan-Bao(개통원보) coins from the Tang dynasty, were remarkably variable. In general, however, the Tang dynasty coins were much more abundant in Cu than the Song dynasty(A.S.S60-1279) coins. The amount of major elements Cu and Sn decreases while that of Pb in creasesby passage of age from the Bei Song dynasty(A.D.960-1127) to later Nam Song dynasty (A.D.1127-1279 ). It means that the quality of coins mere degraded. The amounts of trace elemends(Fe, As, Co, Hn) increases with the above age. High amounts of trace elements are supposed to be a reflection of immaturity of minting techniques or use of impurity-rich raw materials. The Jin dynasty(A.D.1125-1234) coins are found to be rich in Sn and thus contain Pb as the third component. It is quite different from the coins of the Song dynasty. The Zhi-dai Tong-Bao(지대통보) coins of the Yuan dynasty from A.0.1310 are much more abundant in Cu and Sn than those of the Nam Song dynasty .

  • We fabricated a fiber-optic alpha/beta detector, which is composed of a sensing probe, a plastic optical fiber, a photomultiplier tube, and a multichannel analyzer, to obtain the energy spectra of radioactive isotopes. As inorganic scintillators of a sensing probe, a ZnS(Ag) film was coupled with a $CaF_2$(Eu) crystal for alpha and beta spectroscopy. In this study, $^{210}Po$ and $^{90}Sr$ were used as alpha and beta sources, respectively, and we measured the radiation energy spectra using a fiber-optic alpha/beta detector to identify alpha and beta emitting radionuclides for nuclear medicine application. Also, the variations of energy spectrum were obtained according to the length of plastic optical fiber.

  • 배관 내부의 방사성 오염도를 측정하기 위한 ZnS(Ag)/플라스틱섬광체 조합의 알파/베타선 동시측정용 phoswich 검출기를 개발하였다. 알파/베타선 동시측정용 phoswich 검출기의 오염위치에 따른 검출 성능을 PSD (Pulse shape discrimination) 방법을 이용하여 평가하였다. 또한, 검출기를 방사성 오염물질로부터 보호하기 위한 오염방지용 필름에 대한 방사선 감쇄 정도를 실험적으로 평가하였다. PSD 방법으로 알파/베타선 분리 정도를 측정한 결과 충분히 알파와 베타선이 분리되었으며 오염방지용 필름의 적용 가능성을 확인하였다.
