$ZnO-{B_2}{O_3}-{SiO_2}-PbO$계 유리와 $ZrB_2$분말의 소결체의 특성 (Characteristics of Sintered Composites for $ZnO-{B_2}{O_3}-{SiO_2}-PbO$ Glass and $ZrB_2$Powders)

  • 60ZnO-20B$_2$O$_3$-10SiO$_2$-10PbO의 조성을 가진 결정성 봉착용 유리분말과 ZrB$_2$분말을 출발물질로 사용하여 Na분위기 하에서 소결한 복합소결체를 저항체 후막으로써 사용가능성을 검토하였다. 도전성입자 ZrB$_2$는 소결중 매우 민감한 산화특성을 나타내었으며, 이것은 로내 또는 시편내에 잔류된 미량의 산소 및 유리성분 중 B$_2$O$_3$의 반응에 의한 배위수 변화과정에서 유리되는 산소가 원인으로 될 수 있다는 것을 시편의 밀도 및 부피변화 등을 통해 확인되었다. 각 혼합물의 소결온도와 혼합비 변화에 따라 내부조직의 변화와 함께 10~$10^{5}{\Omega}/cm^2$정도의 제어 가능한 저항값을 얻을 수 있었다. 이러한 결과들로부터 유리기지 중에서 ZrB$_2$입자들의 치밀화 경향을 갖는 복합소성시편들에 대한 거시적인 관점에서 도전성경로형성 및 도전기구를 설명하였다.

Effect of Sintering Temperature on the Micro Strain and Magnetic Properties of Ni-Zn Nanoferrites

  • In this study, nanocrystalline ferrite powders with the composition $Ni_{0.5}Zn_{0.5}Fe_2O_4$ were prepared by the autocombustion method. The obtained powders were sintered at $800^{\circ}C$, $900^{\circ}C$ and $1,000^{\circ}C$ for 4 h in air atmosphere. The as-prepared and the sintered powders were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, and magnetization studies. An increase in the crystallite size and a slight decrease in the lattice constant with sintering temperature were observed, whereas microstrain was observed to be negative for all the samples. Two significant absorption bands in the wave number range of the $400cm^{-1}$ to $600cm^{-1}$ have been observed in the FT-IR spectra for all samples which is the distinctive feature of the spinel ferrites. The force constants were found to vary with sintering temperature, suggesting a cation redistribution and modification in the unit cell of the spinel. The M-H loops indicate smaller coercivity, which is the typical nature of the soft ferrites. The observed variation in the saturation magnetization and coercivity with sintering temperature has been attributed to the role of surface, inhomogeneous cation distribution, and increase in the crystallite size.

공침법으로 제조한 NiCoZn Ferrite의 조성 및 소결온도에 따른 자기적 특성 및 전파흡수특성 (The Magnetic Properties with the Variation of Sintering Temperature and Microwave Absorbing Characteristics of NiCoZn Ferrite Composite Prepared by Co-precipitation Method)

  • 여러 가지 다른 조성의 NiCoZn ferrite를 공침법으로 제조한 후 소결온도를 변화시켜 NiCoZn ferrite 미분말을 제조하였다. 제조된 미분말의 미세조직, 결정구조 및 전기적 특성을 분석하였고, 복합형 NiCoZn ferrite 전파흡수체를 제작하여 전파흡수 특성을 분석하였다. 합성한 미분말들은 전형적인 NiCoZn spinel 구조를 지니고 있음을 확인하였고, 입자 크기가 평균 40 nm의 나노분말을 가짐을 알 수 있었다. NiCoZn ferrite를 소결온도를 달리하여 제조한 결과, $1250^{\circ}C$에서 소결된 NiCoZn ferrite가 불순물이 적고 초투자율 및 Q 값이 가장 낮게 나왔다. 또한 S-parameter를 측정하여 반사 감쇠율을 계산한 결과 두께 2 mm인 $(Ni_{0.4}Co_{0.1}Zn_{0.5})Fe_2O_4$ 조성의 시트형 전파흡수체는 6 GHz의 주파수 대역에서 -3.1 dB의 반사 감쇠율을 보여주었다. 이런 측정 결과 6 GHz 이상의 고주파 영역에서 복합 ferrite 전파흡수체로서 응용이 가능할 것으로 사료된다.

Effect of Inorganic Nanocomposite Based Liners on Deodorization of Kimchi

  • This study aims to reduce the rancid odor generated during the fermentation process of kimchi by inserting zinc oxide (ZnO) into an inorganic porous material with a high surface area to decompose or adsorb the fermentation odor. ZnO activated by the presence of moisture exhibits decomposition of rancid odors. Mixed with Titanium dioxide (TiO2), a photocatalyst. To manufacture the packaging liner used in this study, NaOH, ZnCl2, and TiO2 powder were placed in a tank with diatomite and water. The sludge obtained via a hydrothermal ultrasonication synthesis was sintered in an oven. After being pin-milled and melt-blended, the powders were mixed with linear low-density polyethylene (L-LDPE) to make a masterbatch (M/B), which was further used to manufacture liners. A gas detector (GasTiger 2000) was used to investigate the total amount of sulfur compounds during fermentation and determine the reduction rate of the odor-causing compounds. The packaging liner cross-section and surface were investigated using a scanning electron microscope-energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer (SEM-EDS) to observe the adsorption of sulfur compounds. A variety of sulfur compounds associated with the perceived unpleasant odor of kimchi were analyzed using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). For the analyses, kimchi was homogenized at room temperature and divided into several sample dishes. The performance of the liner was evaluated by comparing the total area of the GC-MS signals of major off-flavor sulfur compounds during the five days of fermentation at 20℃. As a result, Nano-grade inorganic compound liners reduced the sulfur content by 67 % on average, compared to ordinary polyethylene (PE) foam liners. Afterwards SEM-EDS was used to analyze the sulfur content adsorbed by the liners. The findings of this study strongly suggest that decomposition and adsorption of the odor-generating compounds occur more effectively in the newly-developed inorganic nanocomposite liners.

합성방법과 소결 온도가 PZNN-PZT 압전 세라믹스 소재특성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of the Mixing Method and Sintering Temperature on the Characteristics of PZNN-PZT Piezoelectric Ceramic Materials)

  • The impact of different mixing methods and sintering temperatures on the microstructure and piezoelectric properties of PZNN-PZT ceramics is investigated. To improve the sinterability and piezoelectric properties of these ceramics, the composition of $0.13Pb((Zn_{0.8}Ni_{0.2})_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-0.87Pb(Zr_{0.5}Ti_{0.5})O_3$ (PZNN-PZT) containing a Pb-based relaxor component is selected. Two methods are used to create the powder for the PZNN-PZT ceramics. The first involves blending all source powders at once, followed by calcination. The second involves the preferential creation of columbite as a precursor, by reacting NiO with $Nb_2O_5$ powder. Subsequently, PZNN-PZT powder can be prepared by mixing the columbite powder, PbO, and other components, followed by an additional calcination step. All the PZNN-PZT powder samples in this study show a nearly-pure perovskite phase. High-density PZNN-PZT ceramics can be fabricated using powders prepared by a two-step calcination process, with the addition of 0.3 wt% MnO2 at even relatively low sintering temperatures from $800^{\circ}C$ to $1000^{\circ}C$. The grain size of the ceramics at sintering temperatures above $900^{\circ}C$ is increased to approximately $3{\mu}m$. The optimized PZNN-PZT piezoelectric ceramics show a piezoelectric constant ($d_{33}$) of 360 pC/N, an electromechanical coupling factor ($k_p$) of 0.61, and a quality factor ($Q_m$) of 275.

Synthesis and Characterization of Zn(1-x)NixAl2O4 Spinels as a New Heterogeneous Catalyst of Biginelli's Reaction

  • $Zn_{(1-x)}Ni_xAl_2O_4$ (x = 0.0-1.0) spinels were prepared at $800^{\circ}C$ by co-precipitation method and characterized by infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The specific surface area was determined by BET. SEM image showed nano sized spherical particles. XPS confirmed the valence states of the metals, showing moderate Lewis character for the surface of materials. The powders were successfully used as new heterogeneous catalysts of Biginelli's reaction, a one-pot three-component reaction, leading to some dihydropyrimidinones (DHPMs). These new catalysts that produced good yields of DHPMs, were easily recovered by simple filtration and subsequently reused with persistent activity, and they are non-toxic and environmentally friendly. The optimum amount of catalyst is 20% by weight of benzaldehyde derivatives, while the doping amount has been found optimal for x = 0.1.

착체중합법을 이용한 Ga2O3 나노 분말의 합성 (Synthesis of nano-sized Ga2O3 powders by polymerized complex method)

  • 본 연구에서는 InGaZnO 산화물 반도체를 제조하기 위한 출발물질 중 하나인 $Ga_2O_3$ 분말을 착체중합법을 이용하여 합성하였다. 함께 사용되는 다른 출발 물질인 $In_2O_3$와 ZnO 분말 입자가 수십 nm 크기로 제조되는 반면 $Ga_2O_3$ 분말입자는 아직까지 수 ${\mu}m$ 크기의 입자가 사용되기 때문에 입도의 균일성을 확보하기 위해 착체중합법의 공정을 최적화하여 $Ga_2O_3$ 나노 분말을 합성하고 그 물성을 분석하였다. $Ga_2O_3$ 나노 분말 합성의 출발물질로 ethylene glycol, citric acid, $Ga(NO_3)_3$를 사용하였으며 $500{\sim}800^{\circ}C$에서 $Ga_2O_3$ 나노 입자을 합성하였다. TG-DTA 분석을 통해 전구체에서 유기물이 소실되는 온도를 확인하였고, XRD 분석을 통해 $Ga(NO_3)_3$ 농도 및 열처리 온도에 따른 $Ga_2O_3$ 나노 입자의 결정성을 확인하였다. SEM 분석을 이용하여 $Ga_2O_3$ 나노 입자의 미세 구조 및 입도 분포를 확인하였다.

Electrodeposited Nano-flakes of Manganese Oxide on Macroporous Ni Electrode Exhibiting High Pseudocapacitance

  • A porous nickel (P-Ni) substrate was prepared by selective leaching of zinc from pressed pellets containing powders of Ni & Zn in 4 M NaOH solution. Anodic deposition of manganese oxide onto the porous Ni substrate ($MnO_x$/P-Ni) formed nano-flakes of manganese oxide layers as revealed in SEM studies. Pseudocapacitance of this oxide electrode was evaluated by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and chronopotentiometry (CHP) in 2 M NaOH solution. The specific capacitance of the Mn oxide electrode was as high as 1515 F $g^{-1}$, which was ten times higher than Mn oxide deposited on a flat Ni-ribbon. 80% of capacity was retained after 200 charge/discharge cycles. The system showed no loss of activity in dry form over period of days. The impedance studies indicated highly conducting $MnO_x$/P-Ni substance and the obtained specific capacitance from impedance data showed good agreement with the charge/discharge measurements.

Mg2SiO4/Glass Composite계 세라믹스를 이용한 음이온 발생용 후막형 클러스터 (Thick Film Type duster in Mg2SiO4/Glass composite ceramics for Anion Generation)

  • The eco-friendly technologies have been extended as matter of international concern due to various diseases and syndromes according to an environmental pollution. In this study, we have manufactured a ceramic cluster with thick film type for anion generation equipment which is maximized anion but minimized ozone contents generated. To develop the formulation of ceramic cluster, we conducted the $Mg_2SiO_4$ powders doped with 10 vol% glass frits as Na-Zn-B-O system and sintered at $1050^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours in air for starting materials and investigated the matching properties between the Ag-Pd electrode and the starting materials. The sintered sample for the composition of cluster has 6.7 of dielectric constant and 32 kV/mm of withstand voltage. The yield of anions was measured according to an electrode pattering, discharge gap between electrode, and thickness of electrode protective layer in the cluster of thick film type. We have manufactured the ceramic clusters with optimized thick film structure that have an anion over a hundred particles and the ozone of 0.6 ppb generated.

$Pb(Zn_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-Pb(Zr_xTi_{1-x})O_3$세라믹의 유전 및 초전 특성 (Dielectrical and Pyroelectrical Properties of $Pb(Zn_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-Pb(Zr_xTi_{1-x})O_3$ Compound Ceramics)

  • Ferroelectric 0.05PZN-xPZT(90/10)-(0.95-x)PZT(10/90) (x=0.65, 0.85) specimens were fabricated by the solid-state reaction method, and especially PZT(90/10) and PZT(10/90) powders were derived by the sol-gel method. All specimens showed a uniform ferroelectric grain without the presence of the pyrocholre phase. Average grain size increased with an increased in sintering temperature, the values for the x=0.65 and x=0.85 specimens sintered at 125$0^{\circ}C$ were 14.4$\mu$m and 9.8$\mu$m, respectively. The dielectric constant and dielectric loss of the x=0.65 specimen sintered at 125$0^{\circ}C$ were 1247. 2.06%, respectively. The coercive field and the remanent polarization of x=0.65 and x=0.85 specimens sintered at 125$0^{\circ}C$ were 8.5kV/cm, 13$\mu$C/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and 17.2kV/cm, 28 $\mu$C/$\textrm{cm}^2$, respectively. The pyroelectric coefficient of the x=0.65 and x=0.85 specimens sintered at 125$0^{\circ}C$ were 5.64$\times$10$^{-8}$ C/$\textrm{cm}^2$K and 2.76$\times$10$^{-8}$ C/$\textrm{cm}^2$K, respectively.
