A study on the depositional wear between different metals (이종 금속간의 용착마모에 관한 연구)

  • The wear becomes the most complicated cause of making various machineries short lives. In the studies by many scholors so far, the accurate and perfect methods to eliminate it completely are not found yet owing to many affected factors. On this view point of Depositional Wear, the wear test with seven different specimens from the part of frequent usage of which are carbon steel, nickel, copper, aluminum, zinc, lead and tin was attempted to make clear the relation between the wear of different metals and their melting point, crystal structure, sliding speed, load and lattice factors. The results of this study are summerized as follows; 1) Worn amount of each metal is maximum when each metal is same quality. 2) The easier becomes the the formation of solid solution in the course of friction proceeding, the more it results in worn amount of each metal. 3) The samer is each metal in crystal structure as well as lattice factor, the more it results in worn amount of each metal. These results might be of use in designing machineries, selecting materials and operating machineries.

  • Since the early 1980's the use of zinc-aluminum alloy-coated steel sheet(Galvalume) for vehicular corrosion protection has increased drastically. It is consisting of 55%Al-43.4% Zn-1.6%Si. Galvalume has a good corrosion resistance, heat reflectivity and shiny appearance, which has a dendritic structure of alloy layer. It has a good corrosion resistance due to dendritic structure. But, this also has a weak point against moisture during long period of transportation as sheeted and or coiled without any relation of chromating on the surface of steel sheet or not because of high humidity and temperature. Here, We studied the corrosion mechanism by the moisture.

  • Aluminum-doped zinc oxide (AZO) films are attractive materials as transparent conductive electrode because they are inexpensive, nontoxic and abundant element compared with indium tin oxide (ITO). AZO films have been deposited on glass (corning 1737) substrates by RF magnetron sputtering system. The electrical resistivity of AZO films was $1.81{\times}10^{-2}{\Omega}cm$ and the average transmittance in the visible range 400-800 nm was more than 76% Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) with AZO/TPD/$Alq_3$/Al configuration were fabricated. The current density-voltage properties of devices were studied and compared with ITO devices fabricated under the same conditions.

  • Since there are many kinds of non-ferrous metal, it is difficult to investigate the current status on the recycling of all the non-ferrous metals. Therefore, the survey is confined to some commercially important non-ferrous metals such as copper, aluminum, zinc, lead, nickel and magnesium in this article. Domestic demand and production of these non-ferrous metals in recent years (2010-2014) and recycling ratio of the scraps are estimated briefly here.

  • In the brain, glial cells serve in the role to sequester metal from the neural microenvironment and therefore play an important role as a cellular deposition site. The central nervous system is highly vulnerable to oxidative stress, and free iron can stimulate oxidative stress by the Fenton reaction. Aluminum may upregulates the transferrin-independent iron uptake system and stimulate oxidative stress. 창원지역 지하수의 수질특성

  • This paper presents the result of groundwater analysis in Changwon area and the characteristics of the groundwater properties. Changwon city conducted groundwater analysis at 551 sites in 1996 and 1997. The water quality is suitable as groundwater use at 466 sites (84.6 %) and exceeds maximum contaminant levels (MCLs) at 85 sites (15.4 %). Major contaminants are total bacteria, coliform and nitrate-N. DNAPLs, e.g. TCE and PCE are detected in the areas of industrial complex and residence. The detection of TCE and PCE is due to organic solvents from manufacturing companies. They are also derived from laundries, Photographer's studios, septic tanks, etc. In addition, fifty groundwater samples were analyzed. Iron, manganese, zinc, copper, lead, aluminum and fluorine are detected in nearly all the groundwater samples. The groundwaters shown on the Piper diagram mostly belong to Ca-HCO$_3$ type.

  • Transparent conductive oxides (TCO) are necessary as front electrode for most thin film solar cell. In our paper, transparent conducting aluminum-doped Zinc oxide films (ZnO:Al) were prepared by rf magnetron sputtering on glass (Corning 1737) substrate as a variation of the deposition condition. After deposition, the smooth ZnO:Al films were etched in diluted HCI (0.5%) to examine the electrical and surface morphology properties as a variation of the time. The most important deposition condition of surface-textured ZnO films by chemical etching is the processing pressure md the substrate temperature. In low pressures (0.9mTorr) and high substrate temperatures ($\leq$$300^{\circ}C$), the surface morphology of films exhibits a more dense and compact film structure with effective light-trapping to apply the silicon thin film solar cells.

  • Transparent conductive oxide (TCO) are necessary as front electrode or anti-reflecting coating for increasing efficiency of LED and Photodiode. In this paper, aluminum-doped Zinc oxide films(AZO) were prepared by RF magnetron sputtering on Si substrate at room temperature with application of substrate bias from -60 to 60 V. Then annealed at temperature of 200, 300 and $400^{\circ}C$ for 1hr in $H_2$ ambient. Structural and electrical property of AZO thin films were investigated.

  • The production of Secondary Non-ferrous Metals (SNM) is characterized by low investment, energy consumption and cost, less pollution as well as rather simple technology. In the past years, the SNM industry has seen relevantly rapid progress in China. Especially in the filed of clean hydrometallurgical treatment certain novel technologies for recovery and separation have successfully been elaborated, and a number of medium and small commercial plants established. On the basis of four common metals Cu, Al, Pb, Zn, and Ni, Co, this paper describes the status quo and progress of SNM industry in China, indicating that a lot of work should still be done in salvage of waste metals. It is recommended that measures for collecting and classifying SNM resource should be strengthened and the research on new technologies for scavenging such metals should be supported.
