  • 염화물이 전기아연도금에 미치는 영향을 분석해본 결과 염화물의 양이 부족한 경우에는 도금이 원활하지 않았지만 교반속도를 충분히 주면 도금이 가능하였고, 염화칼륨의 양에 따라서 우선성장하는 면이 달랐으며 가격이 비싼 염화칼륨을 염화나트륨으로 대체 가능성이 확인되었다.

염화아연의 체액성 면역독성에 미치는 황기 추출물의 효과 (Effects of Astragali Radix extract on the Humoral Immunotoxicity of Zinc Chloride)

  • Effects of Astragali radix extract (AG) on the humoral immunotoxic responses of zinc chloride (Zn) were studied in ICR mice. Mice were divided into 4 groups (10 mice/group), and Zn was given to the mice, 1 hr after i.p. injection with 0.5 g/kg of AG, by i.p. injection daily for 10 days at a dose of 25 mg/kg. Mice were immunized and challenged with sheep red blood cells (SRBC). Zn treatment increased the relative weight of spleen compared with those in controls, but decreased the hemagglutination (HA) titer 2-mercaptoethanol-resistant HA (MER-HA) titer and splenic plaque forming cells (PFC). AG treatment significantly increased the relative weight of spleen, HA titer and PFC compared with those in controls. Combination of Zn and AG significantly increased the relative weight of spleen compared with those in controls, but decreased the HA titer, MER-HA titer and PFC. The relative weight of spleen was significantly increased in the Zn and AG combination group than those in Zn alone treatment group. But the HA titer, MER-HA titer and PFC were slightly increased in the group of combination. These results suggest that AG might slightly restore humoral immune responses lowered by an excess of zinc.

Znq2와 TPD에 기초한 유기 ELD의 발광 특성 (The Luminance Characteristics of Organic ELD Based on Znq2 and TPD)

  • Zinc chloride$(ZnCl_2)$를 출발물질로 하여 Bis(8-oxyquinolino) zinc II(Znq2)를 합성하였다. N-N'-diphenyl-N-N'-bis(3-methylphenyl)-1,1'-biphenyl-4,4'-diamine(TPD)를 전공운송층으로 도입하고, Znq2를 전자운송층 및 발광층으로 이용하여 유기 EL소자를 제작하였다. ELD의 발광을 최대화하기 위해 EL 발광층의 두께를 변화시켜 ITO(투명전극)/TPD(전공운송층)/znq2(발광층 및 전자운송층)/Al(배면전극) 순으로 제작하였다. PL 스펙트림으로 Znq2 화합물이 540 nm에서의 노란-녹색의 빛을 발하는 물질임을 알 수 있었다. 전압전류밀도와 전압-휘도의 전기적인 거동이 문턱전압 6 V에서 나타났고, 최대 휘도와 효율은 약 $838 cd/m^2$로 측정되었다. 이 결과로써, 합성된 Znq2가 유기 EL디스플레이용 재료 물질로써 이용 가능성 있는 물질임을 밝힌다.

Effects of Zinc on Lipogenesis of Bovine Intramuscular Adipocytes

  • Zinc (Zn) is a micromineral and functions as a cofactor of many enzymes and its deficiency induces retardation of growth and dysfunction of the immune system in animals. This study was conducted to determine lipogenic activity of Zn in bovine intramuscular adipocytes. Preadipocytes were isolated from intramuscular fat depots of 26 month old Korean (Hanwoo) steers and cultured in media containing Zn. At confluence, the cells were treated with insulin, dexamethasone, and 1-methyl-3-isobutyl-xanthine to induce differentiation (accumulation of lipid droplets in cells). The sources of Zn were zinc chloride (${ZnCl}_2$) and zinc sulfate (${ZnSO}_4$), and the final concentrations of both Zn sources were 0, 5, 25, 50 and 100 ${\mu}$M. Glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GPDH) activity, an index of adipocyte differentiation, was increased as the concentration of Zn in media increased showing the highest activity (25.74 ng/min/mg protein) at 25 ${\mu}$M of ${ZnSO}_4$. Supplementation of Zn during differentiation of bovine intramuscular adipocytes tended to decrease the production of nitric oxide (NO). Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma 2(PPAR$\gamma$2) gene expression was increased 10 days after differentiation induction. The current results indicate that Zn has a strong lipogenic activity in cultured bovine intramuscular adipocytes with remarkable suppression of NO production.

열처리된 Znq2에 기초한 유기 EL소자의 발광특성 (Luminance Characteristics of Organic Electroluminescent Devices Based on Znq12 by Heating)

  • The 8-hydroxyquinoline Zinc(Znq2) were prepared successfully from zinc chloride and zinc acetate as two kinds of starting material. The organic electroluminescent devices(ELDs) were fabricated by the structure of ITO/TPD/Znq2/Al with N-N'-diphenyl-N-N'-bis(3-methylphenyl)-1,1'-biphenyl-4,4'-diamine(TPD) which acts hole trasporting layer and bis(8-oxyquinolino) zinc(II)(Znq2) which acts as emission and electron transporting layer. EL efficiency of Znq2 prepared by heating was investigated. The 570nm of main emission peak which is yellowich green was investigated by photo luminesence(PL) and this results shows that electro luminescence(EL) is from Znq2. The V-J curve shows that carrier injection were investigated from 4V. Maximum luminance and luminance efficiency were 1600cd/$\m^2$, 0.9lm/W. From this results, the Znq2 can be one of the useful organic EL material.

  • 포유류 장생 상피세포의 하나인 파네스세포(Paneth cell)는 여러 가지 금속류를 함유하고 있으며, 생체가 과잉의 이들 금속류에 노출되거나 부족할 때에 장 내강을 통해 제거하거나 흡수함으로써 금속류의 항상성에 기여한다고 알려져 있다. 이번 연구는 이러한 연구보고에 근거하여 금속류중에서 zinc를 실험적으로 과량투여한 후 파네스세포내 zinc의 분포에 어떤 변화가 초래되는 지를 광학 및 전자현미경적 autometallography(AMG)로 관찰함으로써 파네스세포의 zinc와 관련된 세포생물학적 기능을 규명하고자 하였다. Wistar 랫드에 체중 당 20mg의 zinc chloride를 생리식염수 5ml에 녹여 복강주사한 후 2시간에 이르러 0.1 M phosphate buffer(PB)에 녹인 0.5% sodium sulphide-3% glutaraldehyde 흔합액으로 관류고정하였다. 회장(ileum)의 일부를 Dry Ice나 $CO_2$ gas로 얼린 후 cryostat을 이용하여 $20{\mu}m$ 두께의 조직절편을 만들어 및 단계의 AMG법을 시행하였다. 이와는 별도로 EM용으로 선택된 회장절편은 일련의 전자현미경 표본제작과정을 거쳐, 100nm두께의 thin section을 만들어 uranyl-lead 이중염 색 추 전자현미경으로 관찰하였다. Zinc를 투여한 동물에서 관찰된 소견은 생리식염수만을 투여한 대조군의 것과 비교할 때 큰 차이를 보였다. 우선 대조군에서는 파네스세포의 꼭대기(apex)부위에서 낱알모양을 띤 AMG양성반응 구조물(AMG grain)들이 분비과립과 사이토졸(cytosol)에서 관찰되었고, 세포사이공간에서도 적은 양의 grain이 분포하고 있었다. 반면 zinc를 투여한 랫드의 파네스세포에서는 AMG 입자가 이상의 부위에서 훨씬 많은 양의 grain이 분포해 있었으며, 특히 분비과립에서는 가장 높은 농도로 관찰되었다. 더욱이 대조군에서 관찰되지 많았던 장샘의 분비관(Lieberkuhn crypt)및 고유판 혈관의 내에서도 많은 grain이 관찰되었다. 이상의 결과를 요약하면 과량의 zinc에 노출된 생체는 혈관을 경유하여, 파네스세포의 분비과립을 매개로 하여, 장관의 내강쪽으로 과잉의 zinc 를 피내고 있는 모습을 보인다. 따라서 연구자는 파네스세포가 생체내 zinc의 양을 조절하는데 중요한 역할이 있을 것으로 본다.

과량의 아연에 노출된 생쥐의 사이토카인 생산에 미치는 인도메타신의 영향 (Effects of Indomethacin on the Production of Cytokines in Mice Exposed to Excessive Zinc)

  • Zinc plays an important role in immunobiological responses, while excessive zinc attenuates immune functions in a dose-dependent manner. Zinc excess has been reported to increase levels of plasma prostaglandin E$_2$ (PGE$_2$), which is known to inhibit production of Th (helper T) 1-associated cytokines and to induce inflammatory responses. Thus, this study was investigated the effects of indomethacin, a potent inhibitor of PGE$_2$ synthesis, on the proinflammatory cytokine and lymphokine production in ICR mice exposed to excessive zinc. Indomethacin at doses of 5 mg/kg was administered i.p. 30 minutes before zinc chloride (Zn) 30 mg/kg orally daily for 10 days. Excessive Zn remarkedly increased tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-$\alpha$ and interleukin (IL)-1$\beta$ levels in both serum and splenic supernatants compared with those in controls, while indomethacin significantly reduced the excessive Zn-induced levels of IL-1$\beta$. In serum, excessive Zn significantly decreased the levels of IL-2 and interferon (IFN)-${\gamma}$ compared with those in controls, whereas indomethacin significantly enhanced the excessive Zn-decreased levels of IFN-${\gamma}$ but did not affect the Zn-decreased levels of serum IL-2. In splenic supernatants, All of excessive Zn, indomethacin, and combination of Zn and indomethacin significantly enhanced IL-2 levels compared with those in controls, but indomethacin didn't affect the Zn-induced production of IL-2. These data, therefore, suggest that indomethacin significantly attenuated the in vivo and ex vivo IL-1$\beta$ production increased by excessive zinc and remarkedly enhanced the in vivo excessive zinc-suppressed production of IFN-${\gamma}$ but not IL-2.

중성염화물욕에서 아연의 고전류밀도 전착특성 (Electrodeposition behaviors of zinc from neutral chloride baths at high current density)

  • Neutral Zinc Electroplating(NZE) utilizing the electrolyte of pH 6 to 8 has advantages in waste treatment and the protection of equipment. NZE is beneficially used in chromating treatment, but the limiting current density and the current efficiency are low. Therefore this study is investigated to analyse the characteristics of NZE and to obtain high current density and current efficiency. The deposition potential of zinc in the NZE bath is about 110mV, which is lower than acidic bath. The current density possibily increases up to 60A/d$\m^2$ in lower complexing agent content and pH 6. More than 90% of cathodic current efficiency was obtained in NZE bath. The NZE morphology shows smaller grains than acidic bath. The addition of 4$m\ell$/1 second brightener gives finer morphology. As pH becomes higher, (002) plan decreases and (100), (101) and (110) planes increase in the no additives solution.

  • The complex [Zn(L)Cl](H₂O)(ClO₄) (1) (L=3,14-dimethyl-2,6,13,17-tetraazatricyclo[14,4,O/sup 1.18/,O/sup 7.12/]docosane) has been prepared and characterized by X-ray crystallography. 1 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2₁/c, with a=8.883(1), b=19.319(9), c=15.124(2)Å, β=101.65(1)°, V=2542.0(13) ų, Z=4, R₁(wR₂) for 4457 observed reflections of [I>2σ(I)] was 0.0640(0.1557). The coordination geometry around the zinc is a distorted square-pyramid with four nitrogen atoms of the macrocycle occupying the basal sites(Zn-N/sub av/=2.131(2)Å) and a chloride atom at the axial position with the Zn-Cl distance of 2.315(2)Å.

Mass Transfer to Amalgamated Copper Rotating Disk Electrode

  • An experimental study of mass transfer to an amalgamated copper rotating disc electrode has been employed to determine an empirical correlation for the mass transfer rate in laminar flow. The study was performed in a three-electrodes configuration using 0.1 M boric acid and 0.1M potassium chloride as supporting electrolyte with Zn (II) concentration in the range (25-100 mg $dm^{-3}$). Polarization curves at different zinc ion concentration are reported. Hydrogen and oxygen reduction has also been considered.The diffusion coefficients and mass transfer coefficient were obtained using limiting diffusion current technique based on zinc ion reduction. A least squares analysis indicates that the laminar flow results for 13067 < Re > 57552 and 550 < Sc > 1390 can be correlated by the following equation with correlation coefficient (CR) equal to 0.98: $sh=0.61Re^{0.5}Sc^{1/3}$.
