분말 소화약제가 흡착된 제올라이트의 소화 특성 (Extinguishing Characteristics of Zeolite adsorbed Dry Chemical Powder)

  • The use of dry chemical powder has been increased as it can be stored for a long period and sustain in stable condition compared to gas or liquid phase extinguishing agents. A new type of dry chemical powder using Zeolite was produced in the research. Chemical powder was adsorbed into Zeolite 13X, a porous material appearing negative catalytic effect, to create extinguishing powder obtaining core shell structure and measured physical properties and run a small scale fire extinguishment. SEM, XRD, TA analysis was also executed, and extinguishing characteristics were measured by fire extinguishing experiment on oil pool fire. The experiment showed that the average particle size of Zeolite 13X was equivalent, indicating about $3{\pm}1{\mu}m$ and thermal analysis result illustrated that Zeolite 13X showed exothermic reaction peaks at $900^{\circ}C$ due to solid-state transformation. Extinguishing characteristics on oil fire of $NaHCO_3$/Zeolite 13X and $NH_4H_2PO_4$/Zeolite were improved, influenced by adsorbed extinguishing powders on Zeolite 13X and Zeolite 13X that contains high phase transition temperature.

Preparation of Zeolite-Filled PDMS Membranes and Its Properties for Organic Vapor Separation

  • In order to improve organic vapor separation efficiency of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) membrane, various zeolites (zeolite 4A, zeolite 13X and natural zeolite) were introduced into a thin PDMS film. The measurements of permeability and selectivity of zeolite-filled PDMS membranes were carried out with a CO$_2$gas and a CO$_2$gas/acetic acid vapor mixture, respectively. The CO$_2$permeability of zeolite-filled membranes decreased with increasing zeolite content and then recovered up to 30 wt% content. The effect of zeolite type on the improvement of CO$_2$permeability was found to be in the order of zeolite 13X > natural zeolite > 4A. The CO$_2$selectivity of zeolite-filled membranes was enhanced up to 9 times compared with the selectivity of a pure (unfilled) PDMS membrane. The effect of zeolite type on the improvement of CO$_2$selectivity was found to be in the order of natural zeolite > zeolite 13X > zeolite 4A.

Temperature and leaching effects of zeolite-X derived from kaolin

  • Zeolites are microporous materials that find applications in different fields due to their numerous interesting properties. This research investigated the effect of leaching on unheated Ifon kaolin in dilute hydrochloric acid and sulphuric acid. The hydrothermal method synthesized zeolite-X type, and the resulting sample was characterized using different techniques. The silica/alumina ratio in the synthesized sample was approximately 5.6, while Infrared spectra confirmed that the synthesized material was Zeolite-X. Based on the X-ray diffraction patterns, other phases were also formed in addition to zeolite-X crystals. Thermogravimetry results indicated that the synthesized zeolite was relatively stable below 500℃, so its weight loss was only 13% after heating to about 200℃. A differential thermal analyzer confirmed this amount of weight loss, and endothermic and exothermic reactions were also observed for the samples calcined respectively at 700 and 900℃. Based on Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) analyses, samples at 700℃ showed slower adsorption-desorption isotherms, pore volume, and sizes than those at 900℃. These results have shown that leaching and calcination temperature significantly affect the type of zeolite produced.

활성탄 및 제올라이트 13X를 충진한 이중흡착층 내에서 벤젠의 동적흡착 특성 (Dynamic Adsorptive Characteristics of Dual Adsorbents Bed Packed with Activated Carbon and Zeolite 13X for Benzene Adsorption)

  • 벤젠에 대한 흡착실험이 활성탄과 제올라이트 13X 흡착제에 대하여 수행되었다. 단일 흡착탑과 두 흡착제로 충진된 이중 흡착탑에서 동적흡착특성이 조사되었다. 원료의 유량은 파과시간에 큰 영향을 주지 않았다. 활성탄에 대한 벤젠의 비흡착량이 제올라이트 13X보다 큰 반면, 제올라이트 13X의 밀도가 더 크게 때문에 흡착탑 부피당 흡착량은 제올라이트 13X가 더 컸다. 이중흡착제로 충진된 흡착탑에 대한 동적실험에서 물질전달영역의 길이가 원료의 흐름방향에 따라 달라졌다. 원료 주입구에 활성탄이 충진되고 탑의 출구에 제올라이트 13X가 충진될 때 파과시간은 더 길고 파과곡선은 더 날카롭게 얻어졌다. 또한 두 흡착제의 충진비율에 따라서 파과시간과 파과곡선의 기울기가 영향을 받았다.

제올라이트를 이용한 화학축열에 대한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Zeolite 13x for Thermochemical Heat Storage)

  • There are three main methods to store heat energy; sensible heat storage, latent heat storage, and thermochemical heat storage. Thermochemical heat storage has the highest storage density among the three methods, so this study focused on the thermochemical heat storage method. Experiments were conducted in this study with Zeolite 13x as thermochemical material in a large-scale reactor with 8 kg of Zeolite 13x. Experiments analyzed storage density of Zeolite 13x with respect to four different heating temperatures ($50^{\circ}C$, $100^{\circ}C$, $150^{\circ}C$, $200^{\circ}C$) in heat storage process. As a result, they showed 40~50 percent of storage efficiency in the experiment. Experiments also revealed that reactions between Zeolite 13x and water vapor were reversible and stable, but efficiency of the system was low, compared with sensible heat storage systems or latent heat storage systems.

아민 함침 성형 제올라이트 흡착제를 이용한 이산화탄소 분리 (Separation of Carbon Dioxide Using Pelletized Zeolite Adsorbent with Amine Impregration)

  • MEA(monoethanolamine)와 PZ(piperazine)를 함침한 성형 제올라이트 13X 흡착제를 이용하여 연소배가스 중 이산화탄소를 분리하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 MEA, PZ를 각각 30, 50, 70 wt%로 성형 제올라이트에 함침하였다. 함침된 성형 제올라이트 13X 흡착제에 대한 물성 평가를 위해 XRD, FT-IR, BET를 이용하였다. 이산화탄소 분리특성을 조사하기 위하여, 성형 제올라이트, MEA 함침 성형 제올라이트, PZ 함침 성형 제올라이트에 대하여 25, 50, $75^{\circ}C$에서 흡착능을 조사하였다. 아민 함침 성형 제올라이트 흡착제는 온도가 증가할수록 흡착능은 감소한다. 최종적으로 연소배가스의 배출온도인 $50^{\circ}C$에서 흡착능을 비교할 때, PZ가 함침된 성형 제올라이트는 성형 제올라이트보다 1.8배 그리고 MEA 함침된 성형 제올라이트보다 20배 이상의 이산화탄소 흡착능을 보였다.

개질 수소 정제용 PSA 공정을 위한 CO 흡착제의 성능 평가 (The Evaluation of CO Adsorbents Used in PSA Process for the Purification of Reformed Hydrogen)

  • Natural gas reformed hydrogen is used as a fuel of fuel cell vehicle, PSA process is used for the purification of reformed hydrogen. In this study, the performance of CO adsorbent in PSA process was evaluated. Zeolite adsorbents used in the commercial PSA process is used. The physical and chemical properties of adsorbents were characterized using BET apparatus, XRD, and FE-SEM. The breakthrough apparatus modified from GC was used for the CO breakthrough experiment, the quantitative analysis of CO adsorption capacity was performed using CO breakthrough curve. Zeolite 10X and 13X showed superior CO adsorption capacity than activated alumina. The CO adsorption capacity of zeolite 10X is more than twice of zeolite 13X even the BET surface area is low. It seems that the presence of $Ca^{2+}$ cation in zeolite 10X is beneficial to the adsorption of CO.

  • 대기 중 $CO_2$ 포집 기술은 비점오염원 배출 $CO_2$를 포집할 수 있는 유일한 기술 중 하나이다. 본 논문에서는 저농도 $CO_2$를 이용한 흡착 실험을 수행하였다. 세 종류의 흡착제를 이용한 흡착과 열재생을 반복하는 실험을 수행한 결과 제올라이트 5A, 13X 그리고 활성탄의 $CO_2$ 흡착량은 21 mg/g, 12 mg/g 그리고 6 mg/g으로 나타났으며, 열재생 반복실험 결과에서 제올라이트 5A가 가장 우수한 흡착 성능을 보여주었다.

Optimization of Ni2+ adsorption on 13X zeolite using box-behnken design

  • In this study, the elimination of $Ni^{2+}$ using 13X sorbent due to an electrostatic interaction was reported. The significant factors including pH, time and 13X sorbent amount were investigated using Box-Behnken design (BBD). In the optimum experimental conditions, the linear rang and limit of detection of the proposed method were 0.1-20 and $0.102mg\;L^{-1}$, respectively. The precision as RSD% was 1.3% for concentration of $2mg\;L^{-1}$. Concerning the excellent recoveries in a short time with highly efficient sample clean-up and removal, this method may be a very powerful and innovative future sample removal technique. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report on using BBD for optimizing the parameters affected the removal of $Ni^{2+}$ by 13X zeolite sorbent.

  • 분리층 두께가 5${\mu}m$이며 Si/Al 몰비가 1.5인 Na형 faujasite 제올라이트 분리막을 이차성장 공정에 의하여 제조하였고, 투과부에 13X 제올라이트 흡착제 충진 전후의 진공모드에서의 $CO_2/N_2$ 분리거동을 $CO_2/N_2$ 몰비가 1인 혼합기체에 대하여 $30^{\circ}C$에서 평가하였다. 충진된 13X 제올라이트 흡착제는 $CO_2$ 투과도와 $CO_2/N_2$ 선택도를 동시에 증진시켰다. 이 현상은 13X 제올라이트 흡착제 충진이 다공성 $\alpha$-알루미나 지지체의 기공채널을 통한 $CO_2$ 탈출을 증진시킴으로써 faujasite 제올라이트/$\alpha$-알루미나 상계면에서의 $CO_2$ 탈착을 증진시켰기 때문으로 설명되었다. 본 논문으로부터 흡착제와 분리막의 혼성화는 일반적으로 보여지는 선택도와 투과도의 역비례 관계를 획기적으로 개선할 방법임이 확인되었다.
