  • Static mixer consists of a straight pipe of circular cross section into which individual elements are inserted to cut, fold, twist and re-combine the mixing fluid. The number of elements and their shape required in any application depend on the complexity of the mixing process. The objectives of this study are to develop a new static mixer and to perform the experimental investigation of pressure drop in order to evaluate the performance of the new one. The mixing fluid used is Glycerin. The pressure drop is measured using a hydraulic manometer and the correlation of Z-factor is suggested as a function of Re. The Z-factors of SSC and YNU mixer are about 40% lower than and 4% higher than that of the Sulzer one.

  • This paper presents circuit models and control algorithms of distributed generation system(DGS) which consists of Z-type converter and PWM inverter Z-type converter which employs both the L and C passive components and shoot-through zero vectors instead of the conventional DC/DC converter in order to step up DC-link voltage. Discrete time sliding mode control with the asymptotic observer is used for current control.

  • We prove a unique continuation theorem for $C^{\infty}$ functions in pseudoconvex domains in ${\mathbb{C}}^{n}$. More specifically, we show that if ${\Omega}$ is a pseudoconvex domain in ${\mathbb{C}}^n$, if f is in $C^{\infty}({\Omega})$ such that for all multi-indexes ${\alpha},{\beta}$ with ${\mid}{\beta}{\mid}{\geq}1$ and for any positive integer k, there exists a positive constant $C_{{\alpha},{\beta},{\kappa}}$ such that $$|{\frac{{\partial}^{{\mid}{\alpha}{\mid}+{\mid}{\beta}{\mid}}f}{{\partial}z^{\alpha}{\partial}{\bar{z}}^{\beta}}{\mid}{\leq}C_{{\alpha},{\beta},{\kappa}}{\mid}f{\mid}^{\kapp}}\;in\;{\Omega}$$, and if there exists $z_0{\in}{\Omega}$ such that f vanishes to infinite order at $z_0$, then f is identically zero. We also have a sharp result for the case of strongly pseudoconvex domains.

  • Let f and g be nonconstant meromorphic (entire, respectively) functions in the complex plane such that f and g are of finite order, let a and b be nonzero complex numbers and let n be a positive integer satisfying $n{\geq}21$ ($n{\geq}12$, respectively). We show that if the difference polynomials $f^n(z)+af(z+{\eta})$ and $g^n(z)+ag(z+{\eta})$ share b CM, and if f and g share 0 and ${\infty}$ CM, where ${\eta}{\neq}0$ is a complex number, then f and g are either equal or at least closely related. The results in this paper are difference analogues of the corresponding results from.

  • A leaky surface acoustic wave (LSAW) velocity was measured using a scanning acoustic microscope on the ceramic/metal interface in order to investigate material properties. The inverse Fourier transform (IFFT) of the V(z) curve contains the reflectance function of a liquid-specimen interface. So, the longitudinal, transverse, and Rayleigh wave velocities for each layer are obtained by the inversion of the V(z) curve at the same time. This paper contains mainly the experimental procedure for measurements of the LSAW velocity, and the results obtained for the velocity variation of individual layer after the thermal shock. It is shown that this method is useful in measuring the material properties under external stress.

  • Let $CS^{\alpha}(\beta)$ denote the class of normalized strongly $\alpha$-logarithmic close-to-convex functions of order $\beta$, defined in the open unit disk $\mathbb{U}$ by $$\|arg\{\(\frac{f(z)}{g(z)}\)^{1-\alpha}\(\frac{zf'(z)}{g(z)\)^{\alpha}\}\|\leq\frac{\pi}{2}\beta,\;(\alpha,\beta\geq0)$$ where $g{\in}S^*$ the class of normalized starlike functions. In this paper, we prove sharp $Fekete-Szeg\"{o}$ inequalities for functions $f{\in}CS^{\alpha}(\beta)$.

  • This paper describes four switch three-phase Z-source rectifier with improved switching characteristics. This configuration has some advantages switching loss and optimal drive circuit. The rectifier has buck-boost function by shoot-through state. Also, the rectifier has the advantage of decreasing inrush current in start-up and transient states. In order to reduce harmonics PWM modulation technique with a variable index has been suggested. Four switch three-phase Z-source rectifier with improved switching characteristics can output stable DC voltage at the same time decreasing the system's harmonic current. And also the paper presents an application of DCC method in Z-source rectifier. Principles and dynamics of the system are discussed in detail. After having viewed the results we can confirm that the proposed method is eligible and efficient.

  • Heavy metal removal by Z. ramigera 115 and soluble slime polymer producing mutant Z. ramigera 115SLR was investigated. Both strains showed similar tolerance against $Cd^{2+}$, $Co^{2+}$, $Cu^{2+}$, $Ni^{2+}$ and $Fe^{2+}$. When cells were cultivated in the presence of 500 ppm $Cd^{2+}$, the mutant strain removed 1.5 fold more metal than the wild type did at same biomass. Metal adsorption capacities were in the order of Z. ramigera l15SLR polymer > Z. ramigera 115 polymer > Z. ramigera 115 cell >Z. ramigera l15SLR cell. The optimum pH for metal adsorption was 7.5. Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms indicated that Qmax and 1/n of Z. ramigera l15SLR polymer were 164.2 mg $Cd^{2+}$/g dw and 0.496, respectively. These results showed that the polymer of Z. ramigera l15SLR could be used as an effective metal adsorbate.

  • Z. Cao had proposed NFRM(new fuzzy reasoning method) which infers in detail using relation matrix. In spite of the small inference rules, it shows good performance than mamdani's fuzzy inference method. But the most of fuzzy systems are difficult to make fuzzy inference rules in the case of MIMO system. The past days, We had proposed the MIMO fuzzy inference which had extended a Z. Cao's fuzzy inference to handle MIMO system. But many times and effort needed to determine the relation matrix elements of MIMO fuzzy inference by heuristic and trial and error method in order to improve inference performances. In this paper, we propose a MIMO fuzzy inference method with the learning ability witch is used a gradient descent method in order to improve the performances. Through the computer simulation studies for the inverse kinematics problem of 2-axis robot, we show that proposed inference method using a gradient descent method has good performances.
