In this paper, we propose an MVA mode cell structure with improved optical characteristics. Our MVA cell has an electrode with fine-slits. Optical characteristics of our proposed structure were compared with those without fine-slits. Moreover, we varied the interval as well as the widths of fine-slits in order to appreciate the effect of fine-slits. Optical characteristics of these cells were calculated with 3DFEM solver, TechWiz LCD. It was confirmed that the transmittance can be improved by more than 7% with fine-slits.

In this paper, we propose a cell structure to improve transmittance and aperture ratio with FFS(Fringe Field Switching) mode. As an exemplary cell, we selected conventional FFS cell with dual domain. Optical transmittance and aperture ratio were calculated with 3DFEM numerical solver, TechWiz LCD. The simulation results revealed that transmission increases by more than 10% while aperture ratio increases by more than 4% when compared to conventional FFS mode.

In industrial drive of the BDCW motor, voltage source inverter is of tenly used. In this paper in operation of the inverter for the BDCM drives, some PWM techniques are applied and the mathematical torque ripple model is developed to investigate the performance of the PWM techniques. The simulation results show that the multiple pulse modulation is practically introduces the lowest torque ripple components.

A new type of girder named as Steel-Confined Prestressed Concrete Girder(SCP Girder) has been developed, which is composed of concrete, steel plate, and prestressing tendon. This girder may maximize structural advantages of these components, therefore it can be used to construct the middle or long span bridge with low-height girder. To verify the propriety of design, structural safety, and applicability of this girder, static load test was carried out. In this study, a design program was developed for practical design of railway bridge using SCP girder. And to verify the applicability of SCP girder to railway bridge, structural performance and economic efficiency based on the construction cost were compared with conventional railway bridges.
