Objectives: This case study was designed to evalute the effect of Korean medical treatment on genital ulcer. Methods: This patient was treated with herbal medicine of Palmul-tang (八物湯), Yongdamsagan-tang (龍膽瀉肝湯), acupuncture and herbal applications. This efficacy of treatment was evaluated with inspection and patient's report. Results: After treatments, the patient's symptoms such as genital ulcer, erythema and swelling were improved. Conclusions: This case report shows that the Korean medical treatment is effective in the treatment of genital ulceration.

Objectives : The purpose of this case is to investigate the effect of Korean Medicine on a patient who was suspected osteitis pubis. Methods : The patient was treated with herbal medicine, acupuncture, cupping therapy and physical therapy. We evaluated the results of the treatment by Hughes Scale and Visual Analogue Scale(VAS). Results : After treatment, the patient's symptoms were improved. Conclusions : These results show us that Korean medicine has effect on a patient who was suspected osteitis pubis.

After analyzing the cases of treating female patients troubled with morbid leukorrhea, the writer drew the conclusions as follows. The shapes of patients with morbid leukorrhea show a large number of shapes of Gi type, Sin type or being inclined to be vigorous Gi, to have depressive syndrome due to disorder of Gi, to be Fire's nature flared upward, to become retention of phlegm and fluid, to become retention of Gi or to become retention of heat, or San syndromes. Accompanied syndromes of morbid leukorrhea appear over the body of upper, middle or lowe portion. In lower cho, the symptoms are menopathy, menstrual irregularities, menstrual irregularities, oligomenorrhea, itching of external genitals, San syndromes, infertility, lumbago which are connected with uterus. And in the middle cho, those are indigestion, nausea, distress in the stomach, vomiting, swallowing acid connected with digestive organs. And also in the upper cho, globus hystericus, chest distress, headache, dizziness, neck stiffness, heat in the upper, pimples connected with upper cho are appeared. Among the prescriptions of treatment for morbid leukorrhea, Ijintang was applied with the widest range of all. Besides that there were mainly prescribed for symptoms such as Gamisachil-tang, Haenggihyangso-san, Gamigwibi-tang, hyangsapyeongwi-san, Onkyung-tang, Banchong-san, Yongdamsagan-tang, Sogampaedok-san, Ojeok-etc.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to report the clinical effectiveness of oriental medicine on genital eczema. Methods: The Yongdamsagan-tang was used for relieving pruritus, skin flare and the other symptoms. The efficacy of treatment was evaluated with inspection and patient's report. Results: After treatments, the symptoms of genital and hand eczema were improved and the patient has not reoccurred. Conclusions: This case report shows that the herbal medication relieves the pruritus, skin flare and the other symptoms caused by genital eczema.

Chronic prostatitis is a common disease among male. However, its cause and treatment are not known and it does easily come to the patients again after some treatment. Chinese has got an active research on chronic prostatitis of traditional Chinese medicine. We researched the Chinese publications from 2003 to 2013. After translating those publications, we analyzed total 64 publications by classifying those according to frequently used prescriptions, differentiation of symptoms, signs, addition and subtraction of each medicine and the quantity of frequently used medicines. Frequently used medicines were statistically analyzed. The prescription of chronic prostatitis was classified according to its stage. Paljeongsan(八正散) or Yongdamsagan-tang(龍膽瀉肝湯) was used during the early stage of chronic prostatitis, Sobokchukeo-tang(少腹逐瘀湯) or Hyeolbuchukeo-tang(血府逐瘀湯類) was used during the middle stage, and Jibaekjihwang-tang(知柏地黃湯) or Gyebujihwang-tang(桂附地黃湯) was used during the late stage. The most frequently used medicine was Phellodendri Cortex(黃柏), mentioned 43 times in the prescriptions. This analysis report would be able to provide the basis of taking a research on chronic prostatitis. In addition, it could be applied on a stereotype of chronic prostatitis as well as a variety of symptoms with frequently used prescription and addition and subtraction of each medicine.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to analyze the trend of Korean medical treatments on acute stage of herpes zoster. Methods : Domestic databases(OASIS, KTKP, RISS, NDSL, KISS) were used to search case study papers related to the acute herpes zoster. Total 33 studies were selected and analyzed. Results : According to clinical type, Ramsay Hunt syndrome was the most frequent type, followed by herpes zoster genralisatus, facial herpes zoster. Manual acupuncture was the most frequently used treatment modalities, followed by Korean herbal medicine. LI4(合谷), LR3(太衝), ST36(足三里), GB20(風池) were the major acupoints used for the treatment of acute herpes zoster. Yongdamsagan-tang(龍膽瀉肝湯) was the most frequently used prescription followed by Ligigeopoong-san(理氣祛風散). As principal herb, Gentianae Scabrae Radix et Rhizoma(龍膽) and Bupleuri Radix(柴胡) were the most frequently used herbs followed by Alismatis Rhizoma(澤瀉). Conclusions : Though several limits remains, this is the first study to analyze the trends of Korean medicine treatment for the acute stage of herpes zoster, it may helpful for the clinical practitioner.
