식생활이 정서에 미치는 영향에 대한 고찰 (The observation on eating impact on psychological aspect)

  • Object : This paper is designed to inquire into the influence of eating habits on the emotion of modem people. Method : The methodology is used that searches for materials such as books and treatises on the relationship between eating habits and emotion. Result : Meat used for fast food comes from cows that are fed the feed containing growth hormone and antibiotic. Growth hormone extremely supplements fire or yang within the body while antibiotics undermines the process of yin, leading to an accumulation of damp-heat and inflammation of ministerial fire. Additives contained in instant foods also impinge on the process of yin, leading to poor digestion, damp-heat toxins and ministerial fire. Excessive consumption of meat results in incomplete combustion of fat and hinders the formation of essence. Subsequently, ministerial fire becomes hyperactive as a result of the lack of yin energy. Increased meat consumption in the human diet is coupled with unhealthy eating pattern in which people eat too much for dinner and too quickly. Eating too much disturbs digestion, making it slow and incomplete, leading to excess damp-heat conditions, insufficient amount of vital essence and eventually hyperactive ministerial fire. Milk is considered a catalyst of faster growth, making it suitable for calves. Milk intake rapidly increases the balance of yang and eventually cause hyperactivity of ministerial fire. Conclusion : It is estimated that the eating habits of modern people cause the process of yang, making them feel restless, impatient and aggressive.

  • In our review, the conclusions on the concept and principle of perspiration are as follows. 1. It is the physiological perspiration that Qingyang(淸陽) from Jing(精), Qi(氣), Xie(血) synthesized by digestion of food and drink(水穀), is increased and secreted from pores on the skin(腠理). 2. The main center to control perspiration is heart(心), but lver(肝), stomach(胃), spleen(脾), lung(肺), bladder(膀胱), kidney(腎) and triple energizer(三焦) can be also related to perspiration indirectly. 3. As Weiqi(衛氣) make the body warm and keep the body temperature constant by controlling perspiration, it is very important to make a diagnosis of Weiqi(衛氣) Xushi(虛實) by skin temperature. 4. We guess that perspiration can be secreted by the control of BiaoLi-YinYang(表裏陰陽) such as centrifugal(氣) and centrifetal force(形) of Qi(氣). 5. Sweating therapy can make the level of Biaoyang(表陽) correct and control the balance between centrifugal(氣) and centrifetal force(形) of Qi(氣).

  • Geomancy accepts with a pre-requisite that human beings adapt themselves to nature as an organism, because people and environment, bodies and space have the homogeneity which can not be divided by a dichotomy. The homogeneity as a structure alive implies a deep relationship with biorhythm and the change of space, and is regarded as a concept and role significant on the coordination. In other words, applying the element in the geomancy could be interpreted as a work giving a new meaning and spirit on a creation of space and furniture coordination. Harmony and balance shown in design concepts have a relationship with the meaning on Yin-Yang and the Five Elements theory. In addition, the characteristic in each element is suggested as an example applying the concept of geomancy through furniture coordination for each space in the chapter 4.

마황(麻黃)과 석고(石膏)의 효능(效能)에 대한 비교(比較) 연구(硏究) – 상호(相互) 유사성(類似性)을 중심(中心)으로 - (A Comparative Study on the Effectiveness of Mahuang and Shigao - Focusing on Their Similarity -)

  • Objectives : The objective of this study is to compare the properties of Mahuang and Shigao based on their similar effects and how they are manifested in formulas that include these medicinals. Methods : Descriptions of Mahuang and Shigao as written in the Shennongbencaojing, Mingyibielu, Bencaogangmu, Benjingshuzheng were analyzed to determine their similar traits. Formulas in which these medicinals were both used for their similar effects were analyzed. Results & Conclusions : Mahuang and Shigao, through their interaction, both communicate fluids, relieve stagnation, and draw out heat or Yang qi from the Yin part. These similarities influence each other, which is related to their common meridian tropism, the Lung Channel, to diffuse, purify and descend. The ten formulas that include the two medicinals were similar in that Yin and Yang were interactive. Of these, those that relieved stagnation were Maxingganshitang and Daqinglongtang. Those which communicated fluids and relieved stagnation were Yuebitang, Yuebijiabanxiatang, Yuebijiashutang, Xiaoqinglongjiashigaotang, Houpumahuangtang, and Wengetang. Those that drew out heat or Yang qi from the Yin part through interaction between Yin and Yang were Guizhieryuebiyitang and Mahuangshengmatang. Previous studies stated that Mahuang and Shigao are different and using both medicinals in the same formula would repress each other or balance each other out-this study focused on their common properties which resulted in the above-mentioned findings.

지산선생이 주창한 담 방광 용어에 대한 연구 (Study on the terms, ′Dam′ and ′Bangwang′)

  • In terms of Yin and Yang theory, Dam represents excessive Yang and deficient Yin, and Bangkwang means excessive Yin and deficient Yang. In terms of Ki and Hyung, Dam is vigorous Ki and flabby Hyung, and Bangwang is strong Hyung and weak Ki. In terms of the balance of Ki and Blood, Dam is more Ki and less Blood and Bangkwang is the opposite. In terms of meridians concerned, Dam belongs to Joksoyangdam meridian(足少陽膽經) and Bangkwang belongs to Joktayangbangwang meridian(足太膀胱經), Mr. Jeesan saw that the person having vigorous Ki and flabby Hyung tends to be dynamic and the person having strong Hyung and weak Ki tends to be static and designated both as Dam and Bangkwang, respectively, Meridians are the route of Ki and Blood in the body and since their titles are thought to imply basic oriental medical theories, they are better choices to be comprehensive and systematic than other terms. In the 12 meridians, the 6 foot meridians are more important than the other hand meridians because human beings adapt themselves to the earth. Among the 6 foot meridians, the 3 Yang foot meridians are more representative of the body since they cover more of the body. Joksoyangdam meridian(足少陽膽經) is related to more Ki and less Blood and thus is a relevant term to describe Dam. Likewise Joktaeyangbangkwang meridian(足太膀胱經) is related to more Blood and less Ki and thus can correspond to the term 'Bangkwang'. In addition, the Dam organ and Dam meridians meet the condition of excessive Yang and deficient Yin, vigorous Ki and flabby Hyung, more Ki and less Blood, on the other hand, the BangKwang organ and Bangkwang meridians meet the condition of excessive Yin and deficient Yang, strong Hyung and weak Ki, more Blood and less Ki. Thus the terms of Dam and Bangkwang satisfy the basic concepts Mr. Jeesan established.

자세이완기법과 근에너지기법을 중심으로 한 경근(經筋)과 현대 도수치료술의 상관성 연구 (Study on Relationship between Meridian Muscles and Modern Manual Therapy centered on Positional Release Therapy and Muscle Energy Techniques)

  • Recently, the range of meridian muscle has expanded to muscular membranes, tendons and sinews as well as muscles, comprehending the modern manual therapy and its theories. So, in this study, the movement of body is explained through the assignment of meridian muscles into 3 Yins and 3 Yangs, and the modern manual therapy is understood with body's movement principles rather than with simple muscular movements. For this, the ground that the meridian muscles can expand to muscular membranes, tendons and sinews is researched in newest papers and studies rather than in the conventional studies that have analyzed the meridian muscles just in anatomic viewpoints. And, to find out how it can be applied to the actual clinic, its relationship with modern manual therapies such as Positional Release Therapy and Muscle Energy Techniques which are in the spotlight lately is also researched, getting the following results: Modern manual therapy is to keep the mutual balance of Yin-Yang meridian muscles after all and secure the stability of body to relieve the pains due to the stagnation of energy and blood. In the main body, they can be allotted into the opening of Great Yang/Great Yin, the closing of Bright Yang(陽明)/Small Yin, and the pivoting of Small Yang/Growing Yin (厥陰). The bending and stretching of meridian muscles as well as the movement of body can be explained according to the principle of opening, closing and pivoting. When the body is divided into 3 Yins and 3 Yangs, the viewpoint of Yin-Yang-Inside-Outside can be applied to the protagonist and antagonist muscles, giving a theoretic basis to the modern manual therapy. In the process to understand Positional Release Therapy and Muscle Energy Techniques in the viewpoint of Meridian Muscle, it turned out that the meridian muscle theory of Oriental Medicine which used to be known only in documents can well explain the movement mechanism of human body. The stress reaction through the reciprocal inhibition in Positional Release Therapy and Muscle Energy Techniques can also be understood with Yin-Yang-Inside-Outside.

건강과 질병치료 효능 증진을 위한 한방영양과 현대영양관리의 비교 (Comparison of Oriental and Western Nutrition for the Improvement of Health and Chronic Diseases Therapy)

  • Good health and longevity are the goal of human beings. Dietary treatment for the improvement of health and chronic diseases therapy has been occupied an important position in Oriental and Western medicine. In this paper, the viewpoints of dietary treatment in Oriental and Western medicine were compared. The principle of Yin-Yang and five elements, as a standing rule that establishes the theory of Oriental medicine and origin of the oriental philosophy, it provides the based of the Oriental medicine's outlook of the world. The principles of dietary treatment in Oriental medicine was reasonable combination of food, balance of Oh-Mi and temperance of food. Nutritional therapy in Oriental medicine has done the phase of Bian Zheng by individual characteristics. The theory of Yin-Yang and five elements, Ki-Mi, Sasang Constitution Medicine and Kyi-Kyung were obviously recognized the theory of nutrition therapeutics in Oriental medicine. In Western medicine, dietary treatment supplies individuals with a recipe of calorie and specific nutrients. The Food Exchange System was very convenient way of practice in nutrition therapy. But each of dietary treatment in Oriental and Western nutrition has strong and week points. So we need to study enough materials to treatment of Oriental nutrition and Western nutrition for the improvement of health and chronic diseases therapy.

  • Body fluid(津液) is a general term for normal mucus in human body, including saliva, gastric juice, intestinal juice and articular fluid in joints as well as tear, running nose, sweat, etc.. The formation of Body fluid goes through two phases. First phase is digestion of food at stomach, and then evaporation and classification of energy at Triple warmer(三焦). More technically speaking, Body fluid is divided into the Jin(津) & the Aek(液). Aek is a very mild and water-like fluid, runs deep into the internal organs. Jin is a thick and sticky liquid, running shallow under the skin or in the joints of limbs. Major roles of body fluid over the body are to moisturize the internal organs, flesh, skin, etc., to soften the joints, to fill the bone marrow, and to balance Yin and Yang. This article deals with the role of body fluid and how to differentiate them, the liquid metabolism in the human body, and the formation and change of sweat, urine, tear, spit, bone marrow, etc.. The imbalance of Yin and Yang and disturbance of Triple warmer's evaporation lead into lumbago, leg weakness and edema is also explained here.
