  • Fault detection is necessary for yield enhancement and cost reduction in semiconductor manufacturing. Sensory data acquired from the semiconductor processing tool is too large to analyze for the purpose of fault detection and classification(FDC). We studied the techniques of fault detection using statistical method. Multiple regression analysis smoothly detected faults and can be easy made a model. For real-time and fast computing time, the huge data was analyzed by each step. We also considered interaction and critical factors in tool parameters and process.

  • For effective light harvesting, a design weighting should be implemented in a front geometry, in which the incident light transmits from a surface into a light-active layer. We designed a three-dimensionally patterned transparent conductor layer for effective light management. A transparent conductive oxide (TCO) film was formed as three-dimensional structures. This efficiently drives the incident light at the front surface into a Si absorber to yield a reduction in reflection and an enhancement of current. This indicates that an optimum architecture for a front TCO surface will provide an effective way for light management in solar cells.

  • Electrical Designs for Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC) has undergone a change recently with the advent of the sub-wavelength lithography. The optical projection with 193 nm wavelength has been further extended with the use of immersion and other techniques. The competing trends for printing smaller design features have been discussed in this paper with the discussion of the electrical layout analysis to find unfriendly design features. The early knowledge of the unfriendly design features allows remedial actions in time for better yield on the wafer. There are existing standard design qualification criteria being used in the design and fabrication community, but they seem to be insufficient to guarantee defect free designs. This paper proposes an integrated approach for screening the layout with multiple aspects: layout geometry based, graphical analysis and process model based verification. The results have been discussed with few example design features from the 28nm design layout.

  • Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have been manufactured in recent years and widely used in various fields. Reactive oxygen species (ROS), which occur in AgNPs, destroy cell membranes. It is widely accepted that ROS generated in this manner inhibit microorganisms growth and causes toxic effects, However, it does not affect cell membranes directly but positively affects growth in plants with cell walls. The nanoball used in this experiment is a new material that generates ROS stably and is used in aqueous solution. Results of this study indicate a 30% increase in yield of Ginseng mixed with culture soil. The analysis of soil condition after cultivation showed that the possibility of repetitive cultivation in soil mixed with Nanoball was high. This suggests that Nanoball is an antimicrobial active material due to the microbial / extermination effect of pathogenic microorganisms. Therefore, there may be potential applications in agricultural cultivation sites as a repetitive cultivation technology that reuses soil.

  • We propose configurations for a transflective in-plane switching (IPS) cell using muti-domain structures. Usually, the cell configurations for a transflective liquid crystal(LC) cell have a complicated structure, because retardation change of transmissive part and reflective part are not same. The transflective LC cell should have two configurations for each part, such as a multi-cell gap structure. With the ion-beam alignment and the horizontal switching LC cell, a simple structure for a transflective LC cell is proposed. The configuration only adopts one cell gap structure, which may help the enhancement of a yield. Their original optical properties in conventional transmissive and reflective type IPS liquid crystal dispaly(LCD) are kept, it shows the wide-viewing angle and the good wavelength dispersion characteristics.

  • This paper propose a new seismic detail for ductility enhancement by interlocking spiral reinforcement in the potential yield regions of a wall. Through the theoretical consideration and experiment program, confinement with interlocking spirals lead the structural walls to ductile behavior. All specimens show stable hysteretic behavior and good energy dissipation capacity. Also the increase of shear strength mainly induces a flexural failure mode. As interlocking spiral are used in lapped splice region, they increase the bond strength and prevent a early tensile failure caused by the loss of bond stresses. Consequently, the confinement with interlocking spirals may result in a lower value of force reductions factor, newly proposed detail will be provide more economical design.

  • An honeycomb/smooth land seal alternating with the honeycomb seal is suggested for structural enhancement in high pressure turbomachinery. Governing equations are derived for an honeycomb/smooth land annular gas seal based on Hirs' lubrication theory and Moody's friction factor model for smooth land and empirical friction factor model for honeycomb land. By using a perturbation analysis and a numerical integration method, the governing equations are solved to yield leakage and the corresponding dynamic coefficients developed by the seal. Theoretical results show that leakage is increasing and rotordynamic stability is decreasing as increasing the length of smooth land part in the honeycomb/smooth land seal.

  • The semi-active suspension system is getting widely adopted in passenger vehicles for its ability to improve ride comfort over the passive suspension system while not degrading driving safety. A key to the success is to develop practical controllers that yield performance enhancement over the passive damper under various driving conditions. To this end, several control strategies have been studied and evaluated in this research in consideration of practical aspects such as nonlinearity and dynamics of the damper. From simulation results. it has been observed that, with the proposed control schemes, ride comfort can be significantly upgraded while suppressing degradation of driving safety.

  • The supplementation of mulberry leaves, with the aim of yield, enhancement using vitamins, minerals and other compounds have generally been attended from 1990s and many researches have been conducted. More than 30 different compounds from complementary nutrients have been analyzed and in different regions where different climates various results have been achieved. This review has attempted to discuss the results of different works on enrichment of mulberry leaves with supplementary compound. Generally the most effects of these compounds are in the regions where productive parameters are low. In the areas that follow a normal pattern in economical parameters the enrichment of the leaves havent have significant economical effects.
