Design and Characteristics Analysis of a Novel Single-phase Hybrid SRM for Blender Application

  • In this paper, the design and characteristic analysis of a novel single-phase hybrid switched reluctance motor (HSRM) for the purpose of replacing the universal motor in commercial blenders are presented. The proposed motor is easy to manufacture due to its simple yet robust structure with minimized power switches and no torque dead-zone. Moreover, the proposed HSRM is able to deliver a high starting torque as a requirement for blending hard food or even ice. The stator has permanent magnets (PMs) mounted on its inner surface and the rotor has a wide pole arc and salient poles that contribute to its high starting torque profile and the elimination of the torque dead-zone. Finite element method (FEM) is used to analyze the characteristic of the proposed motor. Finally, the prototype is manufactured and its performance is verified through experiments.

  • 본 논문은 2D 실사 기반 가상 헤어스타일의 자연스런 착용감을 제공하기 위한 것으로, 가상 헤어스타일러의 모발 블렌딩 방법에 관한 것이다. 제안된 방법을 2D 실사 영상에서 추출한 헤어스타일을 임의의 인물 영상의 두상에 정렬시킨 상타에서 원래의 헤어스타일에서 추출한 헤어스타일로 변해가는 반자동 필드 모핑을 수행할 시에 머리모양의 변형을 따라 단계적으로 변하는 가변 모핑 마스크를 사용하여 가상 헤어스타일을 생성하고 이렇게 생성된 헤어스타일을 가변 모핑 마스크의 경계 영역에서 시그모이드 함수에 기반한 모발 블렌딩을 수행함으로써 이중 노출 현상이 제거됨과 동시에 자연스러운 착용감을 제공하는 여러 유형의 헤어스타일을 자동으로 생성할 수 있다. 통상 이러한 작업은 사용자의 수작업에 전적으로 의존하는 반면에 제안된 방법은 반자동 필드 모핑에 기반한 편리한 사용자 인터페이스를 제공할 수 있기 때문에 반자동화를 통해 작업 피로도와 작업 시간을 경감시킬 수 있고 비숙련자도 간단한 사용자 입력을 통해 이중 노출 현상이 제거됨과 동시에 자연스런 착용감을 제공하는 가상 헤어스타일을 생성할 수 있는 이점이 있다.

  • Polyethylene, has long history and is widely used, was researched due to good electrical properties by many authors. But PE under stress has the critical defects of space charge accumulation and tree growth, so various methods such as catalyst, additives and blend to improve these problems have been execute, of which we selected blending method. As in our previous papers we investigated electrical conduction, dielectric and AC dielectric breakdown characteristics, we did DC dielectric breakdown characteristics in this paper. We selected pure LLDPE, pure EVA and LLDPE films mixed with EVA as specimens, which were mixed with the weight percentages of 50, 60, 70 and 80[wt%] to be thin film. DC applying voltage speed was 500[V/sec]. The relation between dielectric breakdown characteristics and the variations of super structure due to mixing was investigated, and especially trap level at amorphous region, threshold energy increment of conductive electron at free volume were considered.

Design of Screening Procedures Using a Surrogate Variable with Specified Producer's and Consumer's Risks (대용특성을 활용한 규준형 스크리닝 절차의 설계)

  • When the measurement method for a performance variable is destructive or expensive, it is profitable to replace the performance variable with a highly correlated surrogate variable. In this paper we propose screening procedures using a surrogate variable with specified producer's and consumer's risks. Blending the basic concepts of acceptance sampling plans and screening procedures, the proposed model can be used effectively by quality professionals. Two models are considered: the normal model with dichotomous performance and continuous surrogate variables, and the bivariate normal model with continuous performance and surrogate variables. It is assumed the surrogate variable given the performance variable is normally distributed in the normal model, and performance and surrogate variables are jointly normally distributed in the bivariate normal model. For the two models, producer's and consumer's risks are derived, and methods of finding the optimal screening procedures are presented. Numerical examples are also given.

  • Lubricating softner(SOS-2) for permanent press(PP) finish was prepared by blending water, beef tallow hardened oil for improving softness, and the emulsion which was synthesized from N-hexadecanoyl-N,N'-bis(2-hexadecamidoethyl)amine as a softening component and silicone oil KF-96 as a lubricating component. The prepared SOS-2 and the PP finishing resin were applied to PP finishing cotton broad cloth and P/C gingham samples using one bath method. The properties such as tear strength, crease recovery, bending resistance test were tested. The samples treated with SOS-2 and PP finishing resin have improved properties, compared with nontreated samples, those treated only with PP finishing resin, those treated with commercial PP finishing softners and PP finishing resin.

  • It is always a dream to recreate the experience of a particular place, the Panorama Virtual Reality has been interpreted as a kind of technology to create virtual environments and the ability to maneuver angle for and select the path of view in a dynamic scene. In this paper we examined an efficient algorithm for Image registration and stitching of captured imaged from a video stream. Two approaches are studied in this paper. First, dynamic programming is used to spot the ideal key points, match these points to merge adjacent images together, later image blending is use for smooth color transitions. In second approach, FAST and SURF detection are used to find distinct features in the images and a nearest neighbor algorithm is used to match corresponding features, estimate homography with matched key points using RANSAC. The paper also covers the automatically choosing (recognizing, comparing) images to stitching method.

Application of Discoll Method to Blend Fine Aggregate for Concrete (콘크리트용 잔골재 혼합을 위한 Driscoll 방법의 적용)

  • Recently depletion of natural resources makes a deficiency of sand aggregation in the concrete works. In this study, the quality characteristics of concrete and aggregate according to blending fine aggregate in the river sand and the crash sand was analyzed by Normal method and Driscoll method which has used mixing of fine aggregate for asphalt mostly. Application of Discoll method to blend fine aggregate for concrete was studied in the first step to blend fine aggregates concrete. The fineness modulus, grading, slump, air content and compressive strength were tested by the two method, the results of Driscoll method was very similar to degree of err limits in comparison with those of Normal method in the same condition. As a result, Driscoll method is reasonable to use the fine aggregates mixture for concrete in river sand and crash sand.

  • Reflected light can be decomposed into specular and diffuse components according to the light reflectance theory and experiments. The specular component appears in smooth surfaces mainly, while the diffuse one is visible in rough surfaces mostly. Therefore, each component can be used in forming their correlations to a surface roughness. However, they cannot represent the whole surface roughness seamlessly, because each formulation is merely validated in their available surface roughness regions. To solve this problem, new approaches to properly blend two light components in all regions are proposed in this paper. First is the weighting function method that a blending zone and rate can be flexibly adjusted, and second is the neural network method based on the learning from the measurement data. Simulations based on the light reflectance theory were conducted to examine its performance, and then experiments conducted to prove the enhancement of the measurement accuracy and reliability through the whole surface roughness regions.

Preparation of Solvent-Free Low Foaming Scouring Agents and Their Scouring Characteristics (무용제형 저기포성 정련제의 제조 및 정련특성)

  • Solvent-free low foaming scouring agents (LFSC) were prepared by blending of 2-ethylhexylaminoethyl sulfate (2-EHAS), POE(10) octadecylbenzyl- ammonium chloride (POBAC) and Sedlan FF-200 (FF-200). As the results of several tests, 2-EHAS/POBAC/FF-200/water (8g/12g/20g/60g) mixture (LFSC-5) showed good cleaning power, penetrating ability and stability to alkali, and gave less problem in water pollution. The foaming power of LFSC-5 measured by Ross and Miles method was 8mm foam height immediately after foaming, and that measured by Ross and Clark method was less than 300mm foam height at $30^{\circ}C$, and 18mm at $80^{\circ}C$. As a result, LFSC-5 proved a good low foaming scouring agent for fiber.

Preparation and Physical Properties of PU Flame-Retardant Coatings Using Benzoic Acid Modified Polyester Containing Phosphorus and HDI-Trimer (인 함유 벤조산 변성폴리에스테르와 HDI-Trimer에 의한 PU 난연도료의 제조 및 도막물성)

  • PU flame-retardant coatings (APHD) containing phosphorous were prepared by blending of hexamethylene diisocyanate-trimer, white pigment, dispersing agent, flowing agent, and previously prepared benzoic acid modified polyester (APTB) that contains phosphorous. Physical properties of the prepared APHD were examined. With the introduction of BZA (contained in APTB), the film viscosity and film hardness of APHD decreased. With the introduction of caprolactone group, the flexibility, impact resistance, accelerated weathering resistance of APTBs increased. Flame retardancy of the coatings was tested. In a vertical burning method, APHD shows 210${\sim}$313 seconds, and in a $45^{\circ}$ Meckel burner method, shows 1.3${\sim}$4.0$cm^2$ of char length, which indicates that the coatings are good flame-retardant coatings. Moreover, the amount of afterglow and flame retardancy of the coatings are decreased with increasing BZA content.
