  • The component-based development methodology becomes famous as the new way for reuse. The goal of the reuse is improvement of quality, productivity and independence on the software development. For the improvement in the quality of a component-based system, it is necessary to research component metrics in the early phase of a component development. Hence, in this paper, we propose new component metrics using the information of a component analysis phase. Those are CCI(Complexity of Component Interface) and LCC(Lack Cohesion of Component interface). CCI indicates a difficulty about comprehension, modification, management, use of interface. LCC indicates a functional independence about how strong the elements are related with. Therefore, it is possible to predict and manage the quality of a component to be developed. Predicting a lowness of complexity and highness of cohesion as an independent functional unit by a component interface in the early phase of a component development, we can expect the improvement in the quality of a system.

  • Paper electrophoretic separation of soybean protein using phosphate buffer(pH. 7.6, I. 0.18) was carried out and revealed five components. The ratio of each component extracted with the phosphate buffer was estimated as follows. Component %(aver.) Component I 14.47 Component II 7.22 Component III 4.43 Component IV 71.7 Component V 2.18 Also, each component of phosphate buffer extract was identified as: Component identified Component I identified phaseolin Component II identified glutelin Component III identified $albumin\;{\alpha}$ Component IV identified glycinin Component V identified $albumin\;{\alpha}$ The quantitative determination of the components was performed with twenty five varieties of Korean soybean and turned out to indicate marked difference between the varities in the ratio of the components.

  • When you develop component, you can offer reusability and extension by analyzing commonality and variability about attribute and behavior. Therefore Component that analyzing commonality and variability are use for the purpose of reducing discord of function and adaptedness. I wish to research reusability and extension of component by analysis commonality and variability of component that exist by domain in this paper, extractfunctionofcomponentbybehavioranalysis.

  • In this paper, we demonstrate the implementation case using component based development tool under development process for application developments. The tool suggested provides the programming environment for the development of distributed manufacturing applications primarily. The development tool is classified into visual component, logic component, data component, knowledge component, neural net component, and service component which is a core component for the support component edit and execution. We applied the tool to the domain of the design and routing plan to retrieve existing similar design models in database, initiate a model, generate a process plan, and store the new model in the database automatically. Utilizing the tool, it integrates a geometric modeler, engineering/manufacturing database, and knowledge sources over the Internet.

  • Active networks aim to provide a software framework that enables active network applications to customize the processing their communications. Active security component architecture focuses on the support of reuse system by active security component. The architecture is standard layer to acquire, understand, and assemble component, and it has to support a guideline for component identification, search and customization. In this paper we present the active security architecture as a standard model of discrete active network solution, and we propose the method for component classification and specification.

  • Lately CBD methodologies like as CBD96, Catalysis, fusion, and SCIPIO have been introduced. These methodoloties has their own proprietary component reference model. Using proprietary reference model falls interoperability among methodologies. Furthermore it can cause confusion and difficulty for component developers. In this paper, we propose a integrated component meta-model for support consistency and interoperability among component designs. Also, we compare our proposed meta model to existing component reference model by using component's characteristics. We expect that it is easy to add new meta model elements and extends meta-model by using integrated component meta-model.

  • The reuse of a programs is classified into white-box reuse to reuse with modification and black-box reuse to reuse without modification. A component in component-based development has the property of black-box reuse. In order to measure resuability of class and component, we must consider all the procedural and object-oriented attribute. In this paper, we propose a new model for measurement of class and component reusability and the measure criteria. A component that is measured by proposed model can know a degree of reuse and we can select which component is high in resuability.

  • As an optimun alternatives for the solution of recent software crisis, we have to develop component technologies so as to develop and propagate business components for various domains to industries. For the sake of development of business components, a conceptual architecture which defines a model for component assembly should be prescribed first, and a systematic specification method based on this model be defined, so we can build a system environments for making specifications and development of each component by the consistent scheme. In this study, we propose a domain architecture model for implementing the pUblic component bank as a project supported by the ministry of information and communication, discuss the conceptual model of specification for developing components of storing component bank, specification steps, specification approach for application of business domains and the development results of them.

  • Component-Based Development (CBD) is a reuse technology Providing enhancement in productivity through using the unit of component which is larger-grained than an object. However, reference model defining the elements and semantics of CBD component is standardized neither internationally nor in industrial. This yields interoperability and portability problem between CBD platforms, and presents burden of choosing appropriate model to developers. In this paper, we define meta-models for representative component reference models, and identify advantages, disadvantages, and features of each model through technical comparison of meta-models. Besides, through a proposal of essential component model containing common and essential elements that all component models must conform and a extended component model containing maximum elements and mechanisms, we can precisely assess candidate component models in practice.

  • Recent requirements in component management of building systems have focused on the requirement for improving methods and metric tools to support component condition assessment and appropriate decisions for infrastructure owned facilities. Although engineers and researchers have focused on developing methodologies for component assessment in recent years but there is not enough attention dedicate to facilities and components that have been constructed. This paper is a literature study of scientific papers within the topic of component condition index system (CCIS) in the period 1976 to 2009. Infrastructure component condition index had existed for some 40 years. The purpose of this paper is to provide an overview of CCIS to identify the suitable method for component condition assessment during its service life. This paper finds that the focus of CCIS, surveyed in several aspects during the 40 years that have been investigated, from technology to measurement and from assessment function to component maintenance as an integrated part of the infrastructure component management. This study offers help to researchers in understanding the selection of an appropriate method for component condition assessment in building and non-building systems.
